Rhino GSP1H-840-SS / GSP1HL-840-SS / GSP2H-840-SS Questions & Answers
Verifiedhi so the fan at the back of my rhino fridge goes on and off which is normal but the top fan inside never stops is this normal
Yes, inner fan runs all the time, to help displace ice on evaporator. If you are worried about noise, the fans can do bearings and make a louder noise than normal, a new fan would fix that (if that is why you asked etc).
Does the Rhino SG2H-B Twin door fridge have two separate temperature control settings
Hi Kevin, no, it is just one zone. Model JC165 and JC190 are similar size with 2 x zones. Links; external link external link *Plus we have many matching 1 door units that you can sit 'side by side' to look liek one 2 door, giving 2 x zones.
Thanks.
I have just turned on my new Rhino bar fridge but I can’t set my temperature to my desired temp of 6 degs. The temperature just seems to go up and do from 2.6-7 constantly. I’ve tried to set it as per instructions but not having any luck.
The fridge 'cycles', meaning the display will fluctuate up/down, doesn't mean contents are that temp. So normally if you have it SET at 2oC, it turns off at 2oC then it has 4oC variance, meaning it gets to about 6oC before it turns ON again. Normally controller is set at zero from new, so it would cycle 0-4oC. In manual it shows you how to SET desired temp. There is also an ECO mode, you will see an ECO button, this makes unit run 4oC higher than your SET, so if you set at 2oC the unit then cycles as though it was set at 6oC, so 6-10oC cycling. If you give me your email it us a lot better platform/way to respond. Or email vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au
Ok but I can’t even get it to set. It come up as SE or Er so I can get it to my desired temperature of6 degrees.
That sounds like an error, really rare, can you email the service address so they can trouble shoot in the morning, or give me your mobile and i will arrange a call. I will email a few quick questions now.
I Have just purchased a second hand rhino monaco, are the evaporator fans supposed to cycle with the compressor? It seems a bit odd that they cycle on/off and do not stay on permanently.
I don't think my fans stay on permanently. There are times when the unit is quiet but it is quite noticeable when the compressor comes on. I would need to monitor what happens. In this cold weather it doesn't fire up very often.
The Monaco were over 8 years ago, so it's going ok, the INNER fan stays ON all the time, REAR fan comes on when compressor kicks in to start cooling.
Wont turn on
You need to email service at vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, with details of purchase so we can help. Or call 1300 170640.
please can you tell me where the light transformer is fitted
Can you email the service dept on this, vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, this platform isn't ideal to communicate. Send pic if the actual fridge as well. "From memory" it is in bottom right section facing back of the fridge, a large housing with wiring in/out, it is a long white block about 15cm long. Brand Meanwell.
My rhino fridge keeps going off
1300 376849 Tuesday or email vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, we need purchase info, a pic of fridge and pic of electronic controller as well as answer following. 1. Is INNER fan going? 2. Remove back rear panel behind fridge and check rear fan is going? Also check the condenser, looks like radiator and make sure not clogged up with dust n particles etc. 3. Is there an error code on display? 4. Does it cool and then stops, or no cool at all? 5. Any chance of water getting to controller?
We will get it sorted. Cheers Cory
We have a Rhino single door fridge it runs all the time and is so noisy & seems to be getting louder. When we sit in our Alfresco Area all we can hear is the fridge. The fridge keeps everything cold & does not freeze up but it is just the noise. Is there anyway we can fix this. We love the fridge it keeps everything so cold but it is the noise it makes all day that is annoying. Hope you can please help us. Thank you
I have a GSP1H-840-SS and have had the same annoying noise problem, to the extent that sometimes I am forced to turn it off. To try to resolve the problem I installed what was supposed to be a slower and quieter fan but there was hardly any difference to the noise level. Setting on Eco does not reduce the noise level although the fridge fan seems to turn on a little less. IMO some aspects of the fridge are good but I have noticed that the cheaper Gasmate brand runs much quieter. Also, I notice after 3.5 years that the chrome trays are starting to corrode. If I have to buy another such fridge, noise level will be on top of my list of selection parameters. Maybe the only option is to build the fridge in to a sound-proofed cabinet.
The fridge is already in a built in a bench if a Alfresco kitchen. I just was worried than was something wrong with the controller. The fridge itself is fantastic it is just the noise. Thank you for replying
Can you send enquiry to the service department on vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au or call on 1300 376849, the Rhino is a dedicated alfresco unit, fans are bigger and cooling system is designed to work in over 43oC keeping fridge at 0oC, so these are noisier for that reason. The question is how long have you had it.., it may just be a faulty fan making a noise or some other problem. Let the team help you out, Cheers.
Have a rhino bottle fridge code H.H.h flashing temp won't set alarm keeps going off just won't to know is it worth keeping. Its not in a bar its in my man cave..? HELP
Can you email the service team at vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, it is worth repairing the Rhino units, sounds like a sensor may have failed or unit has lost gas, sensor obviously would be better result as far as repair costs go. Our knowledge base link below. external link
My Rhino fridge has just froze all the contents inside it. What could the problem be?
I haven't had this problem. Does it occur on Eco mode? Mine also has the supposedly quieter fan. My issue seems tobe the opposite in that the fridge runs a lot of the time to keep cool even in winter (where it is on an outside alfresco) but it still doesn't freeze the contents.
Can you email the service team at vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au or call 1300 170640 (service). 'This' platform isn't ideal for troubleshooting, it sounds like controller relay has failed, meaning compressor stays on and can't go off, we have parts etc.
How old is this model
Started to place in market in 2009.
I have a Ryno bar fridge works well but never turns off is that normal a fraction noisy that’s why I’d like it to turn off now and again
It's a commercial fridge yes it's noisy we built ours in and noise proofed around it if you compare running cost with it and normal fridges youd be happy you have a Rhino ...keep it full it won't turn off and on as much wont struggle to keep cold
Does it ever turn off??? Have I got on to low a temperature???
Glass door bar fridges run 24/7, it's why we use special low energy fans to minimize running costs. The GSP range are designed to be in Alfresco, and to work well in 43oC Plus temps. The fans have to move a lot of heat so they run at higher RPM's meaning you will hear running. If we changed fans to 'quieter' you would lose a lot in performance, units would run more, cost more and you also lose about 2oC in temperature coldness in area's near front of fridge.
Thanks for the info
Have an E1 error code seeking assistance please
That should be faulty sensor. See link to our knowledge base. external link If you email all details to vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au they can assist to arrange part required, or simply call 1300 376849 and ask for service dept. Cheers Cory
Our rhino bar fridge SG1R-B is alarming it comes up with HHH?
Can you please contact our service department at vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, or call 1300 376849. You could also use our knowledge base if it is out of hours at external link Cheers Cory
Hi my rhino fridge is making a beeping noise like an alarm and the dial says H3. I have had it for about 5 years
Can you email the service team at vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, they will help diagnose H3, pretty sure it is only a failed sensor.
I have just turned on my rhino ENV1L-SS overnight and the LED display says dEF .. i cant find any troubleshooting advice online to see what it means or how to fix.. any idea?
dEF means unit is in DEFROST, Every 4 hours it goes into defrost for about 15-20 minutes to allow ice on evaporator to melt. This is normal operation. With any questions please email admin@bar-fridges-australia.com.au, this platform we rarely look at, it isn't maintained etc. Cheers Cory
Thanks so much for your reply !!
How do you set temperature it is on -7. Is this ok?
No it's not ok, sounds like controller relay has failed, and unit keeps running, can you email all your purchase details to admin@bar-fridges-australia.com.au Cheers Cory
Hi there The compressor light is always on is that normal.. Cheers
Not sure what you mean by compressor light. All I see is the temperature indicator and the fridge interior light on when operating normally. When switched to Eco mode the fridge light goes off but the Eco indicator stays on.
Compressor light is ON only when compressor is running...as long as fridge is 'cycling' on/off all is good.
Hi there My bar fridge is not making funny noises but it has a noise that won’t shut up y is that it never did it before Cheers
You need to isolate where noise is coming from, then shoot an email to our service department, vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au
My rhino fridge light is flicking how can I stop it
Can you email service department on vicservice@bar-fridges-australia.com.au or give them a call on 1300 376849. Will need your details and serial number (inside right side door on wall). Please send a pic of the led controller so we know what version you have. It will be either the transformer that runs the light or the led light itself, you can check the connection by removing the light cover (easy access) and making sure 'din' plug hasn't come loose (it's low voltage but turn off anyway), but that is a rare case unless unit has been in transit. Cheers Cory
Thank you for your email. Where is the transformer located in the fridge so I can take a picture of it As well Regards
Sorry, i mean the controller, the led display part.
