Follow up. It’s just terrible. It’s wasn’t cheap but every bit of it feels cheap . Really feel like we wasted our money . Which is disappointing. We loved our beko washing machine raved about it , so we thought we would have the same luck with this machine . I was sent a review after registering the product and no one contacted me . I’ve… Read more

purchased Beko products before and I found that there products were nice and sturdy. Unfortunately this one is not the same. I found it not to be quality. We have previously had a higher quality brand and thought that this would be an equal as it had a lot of the same features. It’s quite flimsy the drawers. I don’t think it wash cycles do a good job sometimes you have to wash them twice. I find that the screen on the front is not great not clear and the selection of the door opening is hardly worth it. If you’re going to spend that amount of money spend a couple hundred dollar more and go to a better product.

Good website – Appliance online had a good range of dishwashers at great prices. Easy to navigate through products and ability to compare specifications. Quick delivery too. Has been a week but dishwasher works fine. Will use again when need another new appliance.

Poor design – Very good price and warranty, but unfortunately after 3 months there appears no setting that leaves the dishes dry - drops of water everywhere. It tries to do everything, and appears very good value at purchase point but is basically a bad, over complicated design and doesn't remotely compare with the 10year+ LG we had. Show details

Good value dishwasher – Used to replace our old machine that finally died (failed heater element). Same as our old machine, I removed the cutlery tray to enable larger plates to be easily added to the lower basket whilst having taller glasses in the top. I suspect that these trays are put into these standard sized machines to increase the number of settings they can… Read more

claim they can hold. Unless you have small plates, then personally I think these cutlery trays are pointless if you don't have an "XL" dishwasher that has more internal space.

Back to the review. The dishwasher has the option of automatically opening the door after the cycle finishes - this is in my opinion one of the main reasons to get this machine. It allows steam to escape naturally, leaving dishes much drier. No fan noise, just the 'clack' of the door unlatching. Speaking of noise, overall the machine is fairly quiet - including the happy beeps it makes when it finishes. No squeaking noise as one person observed - I wonder if some packing material was left in their machine. The sound of the door opening can give you a surprise the first few times it happens though! There was a small amount of water in the pipes when installing it, but that would just be from testing at the factory. To get rid of this stale water, I made sure to run the machine through a cycle first before actually using it to clean anything. The "aqua intense" option, where it blasts more water at dishes on the lower front right hand side is an interesting feature - have used it a couple of times now and it seems to have done a pretty decent job with the roasting rack I put there.

What could be improved: * Starting with my biggest gripe - at first this was not cleaning the dishes well at all. After a cycle, a few plates or bowls would come out still with food on them. Very disappointing. I slowly went through the different options and eventually found it was acceptable when using the "Intensive" cycle, although still not always perfect. Then it clicked. The machine has a tablet/powder dispenser, and correctly recommends not to use tablets in short cycles (as the tablet may not dissolve fully so could leave residue) but no option or mention of pre-wash detergent. I know most people tend to only use tablets now, and the machine came with some sample Finish tablets that obviously implies you should use them, but if you don't put in any detergent for the initial prewash cycle then more food residue will be left behind for the main wash to have to struggle with. Our old machine had a 'tablet' option that I think ran the prewash cycle a bit longer to compensate a little for the lack of detergent. Some other manufacturers provide a specific location for prewash detergent, or simply just suggest sprinkling a small amount of powder onto the door. Some people I think believe that the tablets with the multiple different coloured gels etc are designed to slowly release some detergent for the prewash, and then the rest for the main wash, or do some other magic thing. Nope. During the prewash the detergent door stays firmly closed. It is only during the main wash that the door pops open and everything in that tablet is dissolved. If you find this machine isn't cleaning as well as your old machine, then try putting some extra powder or gel (or an additional tablet) in the machine for that pre wash cycle. I would note that the manual does show a way to enable a tablet option, but this machine does not support it (the manual is generic and covers multiple machines, with not all features available). * When you turn it on, it goes to the default settings. It would be nice if it could go to the same cycle that was used last. * The cutlery basket could be a little bigger - if you use the cutlery tray then of course you might not even use the cutlery basket at all. Not a big issue though, and in fact we kept the old basket from our old machine and use that. * The touch buttons don't always detect touches - this is partly because hands can be dirty/greasy/wet after loading the machine, but it can be annoying. Not sure how that could be improved, although again our old machine also had touch panel and it was more sensitive.... * It is missing the "Aquasafe" sensor that can detect leaks at the water inlet - would be nice to include that. * The automatic door opening operates by a solonoid unlocking the latch, and the springs then pushing the door open. The drawback is to close the door takes a little more pressure than you might expect. Maybe a small motor would have been better to open the door, although that would of course be one more thing that could go wrong. You do get used to this, so it's not a big issue. * Not convinced that the layout of the lower basket is optimal - I think that it is designed for smaller dishes than the ones we use. Not a show stopper, but we are still trying to work out the best way of packing this thing.

Overall, this is a decent machine that is worth considering. As well as the self opening door, the other big sell for it is the extended warranty you get on registration. If you do buy it, and find that it's not cleaning dishes well, definitely consider adding a small amount of dishwasher powder/gel into the machine for the initial pre wash cycle before starting it.

** update ** 12/5/2025 - over a year later and so far so good. The machine still cleans dishes well, and we are continuing to use a small sprinkle of dishwasher powder on the door (for the pre wash) and a small amount (less than half) in the normal dispensing drawer. Cheaper than tablets, and does a much better job.

Only issue - yesterday there was an "E01" error message on the display. This apparently indicates an issue with the filter or draining or even a leak inside the dishwasher or possibly a blocked water feed. A lot of possible issues. Anyhow, took out the filter and it was ok (had only recently cleaned it) but I found a small piece of glass but more importantly also a small rubber plug inside the drain itself. No idea what it had come off, but I suspect that it was preventing the dishwasher from draining water quickly enough. The dishwasher still came up with the E01 error, but that went away after I turned the power off to the machine for maybe ten seconds. Ran another cycle through, and it was fine again.

Worst dishwasher ever! – This dishwasher is terrible. Doesn’t wash dishes, touch controls are faulty and a waste of money. When contacted Beko they wanted me to video the dishwasher whilst going, how does one do that? Will be tossing it and will never buy a Beko again. Show details

So Far So Good – Now, I have had plenty of dishwashers in my time , Samsung, Indesit, Bosch, Asea(Asko), LG,Fisher and Paykel, Westinghouse, and at some stage in their life they have all eventually failed , and like humans, some sooner than others. Some have been downright awful and others have been good , and price did not effect the performance, they all washed … Read more

dishes to a point, some better than others. When my Bosch 6 series of nine years starting throwing up error cards and at times refusing to co operate I knew it was on it's last legs and need to be retired. I turned to my wife who downright refused to go for a Chinese machine, (she is Chinese) telling me that none of her friends use dishwashers in China and China don't know how to make a dish washer unless they have stolen the blue prints from Bosch. I was left with little choice , I did not want to pay $1400.00 for the new Bosch 6 series so hunted around until I found this. We have a Beko Condenser dryer which has been operating for 6 years without fault so, with 5 years warranty on offer and 10 years on the motor it was a no brainer.

Now , when the dishwasher arrived it was sturdily packed in a box inside a box, all protectors were in place and every thing was sealed or shrink wrapped .

Water in the dishwasher ? Of course there is water in the dishwasher, they test these things before they leave the factory so this was not news to me and you would have to be magician to use this washer leaving the packaging in tact, let's move on .

I removed the cutlery rack, this is more a nuisance than anything, they literally drip water back onto the items below so out it went , and it also gave me more headroom.

I placed a 280mm diameter dish in the bottom rack and it was being struck by the impeler arm , so I lifted the top rack to its upper position and the problem was solved .

I checked the clearance height of the top rack to the upper body and it was pretty much the same as the Bosch.

I did note however that the pullout multipurpose function rack on the left was hitting the track of the cutlery draw ,as I slid the top tray out. This was solved by just bringing the brackets out a touch or like I will do in the future , remove them completely as they serve no purpose for me , I just don't drink enough champagne these days. The other thing I did after hooking up the hoses was to remove the standard plug. I just don't know why the manufacturer don't use a flat plug. The standard plug juts out from the wall at least 3 inches so can prevent the dishwasher going right back into the space. Have to mention , this does not come with the waterstop feature(Aquasafe+), it depends on the model , and the manual can be confusing, as it addresses one model the 1630X, B, W series yet it's mentioned in the manual when it doesn't apply. Same with the reference to adjustments that can be made to the rinse aide , there is no position 4 and I failed to find the adjustment for the Selfdry settings. Looking at the program settings you have 6 on the left and on the right you have six functions which can be added on to the programs, but only one , and not all functions can be used with each program.

I had to make a new cold water connection with this machine as I only had a hot water connection that I used with my other machines, however, it is clear in the instructions, with out the Aquasafe+ feature you must use cold water to 25C as two things can happen, you can void the warranty, and some programs will not work, which seemed strange because you can use 60C with the Aqausafe+ feature, maybe it does something else I do not know about that is related to the next model of the machine , the 1640 . Regardless , cold water is fine by me as I have solar , so using that tariff(free) to heat the water is cheaper than the hotwater tariff.

I did not find these warnings in my manual but I found them while searching the Beko site, so my advice is to read your warranty carefully or ask Beko.

All in all it's a very quiet machine, even the finish chime is so soft that you won't hear it, so why is it there ? I ran a number of programs and the auto for me is just too long so I will be using another program and possibly the fast feature button to cut down the times, it's a matter of experimenting till you find what suits you. The dishes came out dry every time, and the auto door opening does not work on all programs so just be aware of that and I noted that it seems to have a long dry period , so usualy I flick the door open to let out the steam and the dishes are piping hot, in this case however I did not know when it was safe to do this. A decent machine at first, no major complaints but I will check back in and modify this review if and when I strike trouble.

Just an update in 2025 . The machine stopped working and I had the computer board replaced under the warranty. A week later it stopped again , not sure what was replaced but I figure it was also a computer board . It would have been a problem but I have the bonus 5 year warranty so I am not concerned at this point. One other thing I failed to mention but which is annoying is the flat finger sensitive buttons and the lighting. The lighting is dim and you have to get in close to see what you are doing and the buttons are vague, particularly the stop /go/pause button which is so vague I have to stand there and make sure the machine has started and not gone into pause mode. I settled on a cycle of about one hour thirty and this seems to clean most things. I also use the 30 minute cycle when using the new Fairy dishwasher tablets and it seems to work fine as long as there is no baked on stuff.

Bang for buck – GOOD Dishwasher for the price. Quiet and cleans well. Some bowls have pools of water indicating the drying function probably doesn't get too hot but this is ok. No weird noises as other review suggests, but water was in hoses as the dishwasher is tested in factory. Very quiet. Used for a month now. Buttons takes a bit of force to register.… Read more

Hopefully OK in long term. Build quality is adequate, though it feels light duty - ie what would have been steel components in the shelf mechanism from other brands possibly is plastic in this model.

Makes a High Pitched Squeal Noise – Out of the box the hoses were full of water. When using, it made a high pitched squeal noise that was unbearable. Called Beko and they said JB Hi-Fi must have used it because they didn’t. I told JB this and they were incredulous as they clearly don’t test the machines before selling them. Beko said they’ve never had complaints about a high… Read more

pitched noise.

Replaced the unit at JB Hi-Fi with another. New unit makes the same unbearable sound. Clearly it’s a fault with this product and was not a one-off fault.
