This is a good machine , washers and dries properly, no need to preclean dishes and has a very good Eco cycle. It has ample room for dishes pots ,pans cups etc and is quiet. Ours was purchased through Harvey Norman and the Salesman’s product knowledge was very good. It has a salt dispenser but for Melbourne water it’s not required, just fill the tank with water . I don’t like the plastic covered micro switches , you feel like you need to press again or harder to start the machine. Once you press the on button there is a few seconds delay which can cause some confusion. Under the Start/pause button is a graphic and it says 3 sec. If you press the start button for 3 seconds it cancels the program . This graphic and the 3 sec are not explained in the manual, but it actually drains the machine if you need to. I actually thought our machine was faulty and rang Harvey Norman who hand passed the issue to Aristic ( whirlpool repair service). Harvey Norman don’t offer customer service, instead of calling me to tell me their procedure and then following up with whirlpool and letting me know what’s happening they just sent me an email and said to call Whirlpool if I haven’t heard anything. They have a repair procedure but not a customer service follow up. Anyway the Aristic Tech said that they get this all the time and the manual should be up dated . I think perhaps Harvey Norman should have known this. So ,the machine works fine and starts with 1 quick push on the start button. After the initial hiccup I can confidently recommend this Whirlpool machine , I just would like a knob to turn or a proper button to press but that’s me. Hope this helps.

Good Value just be aware of the limitations – This was packaged well and easy to install. It is a little noisy in comparison to the the F &P it replaced although drying is slightly better and the basket layout superior. It does use less power so it makes sense that drying is not the same as an older type dishwasher. The wash results are good although it pays to use higher temps with tablets to make sure they dissolve well - the ECO is very efficient, so much so that you would need to use a teaspoon of powder and no more just to make sure the tiny amount of water can dissolve the detergent and flush it out. In the end, this is an entry level machine so you expect the moderate noise levels but the above average wash and drying is a pleasant surprise.
