Beko BDFB1650ADX
VerifiedMPN: BDFB1650ADX1 review
Purchased this unit to replace a Miele which hadn't lasted as long as its purchase price suggested it should've. I was swayed by reviews of other Beko units and reports that they'd upped their game on features & quality. The regret kicked in the moment the unit arrived and I began installing it. Features wise, it's pretty good. Auto-dosing detergent system, aquasafe hose, cutlery tray, height-adjustable mid basket, WiFi connectivity & app control - all in a package that retails at around a grand. But it's all cheaply implemented. Too much angle on the mid basket and the door won't close. The hinges hold the door at a slight incline and the bottom rack always wants to roll back in. There's no controlled release chamber for powder or tablets. The WiFi will only connect to 2.4 GHz and disconnects if you hide the SSID - and you need to turn the machine on & enable remote control, on the machine, every time. It all smacks of feature inclusions intended to tick marketing boxes rather than provide a good experience for the user. It tries very hard to look sleek but - to the trained eye - it's just cheap. So far, it washes ok but we've yet to issue it a robust challenge on that front. The delay start feature is bound to come in handy as it's not exactly quiet - best it runs once we're all asleep. On the plus side, it has a 5-year warranty. The downside is that I'm stuck with this decision for at least five years now.
