Bialetti Mukka Express Questions & Answers
The instruction manual says to only use milk. Can I use alternative milks (e.g. oat, soy) instead of cow’s milk?
I would experiment with different types of alternative milks. The machine is just running steam through the milk and the creamier the mmmmmilk, the more it will froth. But yes, I have used different milks with varying success rates.
Can I also just use it tomake an ordinary espresso i.e. don’t add the milk?
Hi Marilyn, no i dont believe you can in this one. and didnt like it and havent used for quite i while wish i never bought it.
Thanks for that. Don’t think I will get this model
You can use it to make ordinary espressos...put the plunger thingy twist on but do not plunge and the espresso shot will come out. However, if you are a fun of simple espresso shots, probably best to get a dedicated espresso maker.
After 6 try’s my Mukka doesn’t froth very much tried different kinds of milk froths for 5 sec then disappears ,does the top chamber where the milk is supposed to spin
When using the mukka machine don't get enough foam. Is it depends on the kind of milk to use? Which kind of milk gives the most foam?
Although all surfaces are clean and it is levelled, I cannot tighten the top part to its final position before using the machine. There is quite a bit of resistance screwing and unscrewing the top. It worked fine until now. Thanks for helping
I have tried two batches and the cappuccino isn't hot enough. Any suggestions?

I lost my measuring cup, how many ounces of milk do I put into the milk chamber?
Wow Pilar, you are a mess. When you pour milk into the milk chamber, theres is a mark all around that tells you how much to fill. You dont need the measuring cup.
I lost the plastic measuring cup to my mukka express, how many ounces was it?
When you pour water into the bottom canister, theres is a mark all around that tells you how much to fill. You dont need the measuring cup.
What is the pressure obtained in the lower chamber before the water begins to flow up through the coffee?
Can you make regular coffee with it too?
I am sorry Andrew, I don’t know, I have never tried.. I have other coffee devices form that
Hi Andrew,
No. It is a one trick pony in that regard.

Ive bought a mukka express but it has no measuring cup. How much water should i put in when brewing on a gas stove?
Fill to just below the pressure relief valve on the side
Anyone tried soy milk in the mukka?
It doesn't work that well. The heat it works at plus the avid in the coffee... curdles the soy some of the time
Coffee erupts from screw lid between the water chamber and the milk chamber even tho I have screwed them tightly. Why?
I'd suggest getting a new gasket and replacing the old one
Es possible to make express black as well
Not that I have tried
yes - just don't add the milk :)
I press the button down for cappuccino but as pressure releases the coffee into the milk it pops up and consequently doesn't froth. Have tried holding the button down but surely this is not how it's supposed to work?
Perhaps an email to the manufacturer?? It doesn't sound right at all...
Is there any way to do a stronger coffee... thanks.. Jenny
Apart from loading the basket up, not really. Loading the basket up is likely to have "burnt grounds" or a bitter over extraction..
I have just bought one and after 4 goes the coffee still comes our lukewarm - what am i doing wrong?
Low and slow heat to allow the milk to heat up... Or add heated milk to the subsequent brews
Does the Mukka only come in aluminium?
Yes, only aluminium as a Mukka..
can your mukka just be used as an espresso maker and not capuccino?
No. Sadly not effectively. I tried it once, and it didn't flow well from the lower chamber.
