beware they will not replace a fan blade, if damaged the fan is a throw away – Bought 3 fans, one of the blades got damaged and have been told they are 'hand made and balanced tot eh motor' (maybe doubt that) so you cannot buy a replacement blade - the whole unit is therefore now a throw away - not acceptable for such an expensive and supposedly top of the line product. BA Fan said buy 60" fan for 21ft x 12 ft out, 12 ft high gabled porch, won't return now! – Don't Buy! Expensive fan that other fans can do for MUCH less. BA fan sales said their 60" fan would be enough for our 40 ft open deck with 21 ft x 12 ft out x 12 high gabled open porch. NOT! Wouldn't move enough air unless near under the fan. Paid like $2700 and they would not let us upgrade to a larger fan we wanted to start with! Just said sorry, beyond return limits! Will just buy Hunter fans from now on! Show details
Not good enough – We have 6 Big Ass Fans in our house. We have had to replace the remotes on all but one, but now that one is not working as well. Which is why I am writing. Roughly within 2 years the remotes cease functioning, (and yes, have replaced batteries), a year out of warranty. One of our LED lights also stopped working. Replacement cost for the… Read more
remotes was $80 each. That’s nearly $500 in remotes alone! These are $1,000 fans, simply not good enough. Cheers Ron
Sensational fans – We bought two Haiku fans for our home just before Christmas, having admired them in my cousin’s house. We are absolutely thrilled with them. The Brisbane people took a lot of trouble to ensure that we had the correct size fans and mount for our ceiling heights and the area we wanted to cover. The electrician who installed them was extremely… Read more
impressed with the high quality of the parts. They are whisper quiet on the lower settings and look really stylish. The fans are very stable and the remotes easy to operate. Can highly recommend.
Not as silent as advertised – These fans are stunning to look at - as they should be for the $, however they are not as quiet as advertised. We had one fan which was very noisy - squeeky. After 6 months of sending recordings of the noise and following all the company's suggestions on how to fix it, it was finally exchanged. The fan in our bedroom is noisy enough to keep me… Read more
awake. It's not loudper se but I can certainly hear it at night when the house is quiet. I don't think these fans are any quieter than a good quality one from bunnings and not worth the excessive price.
Amazing - worth the $$ – We bought our first Big Ass Fan 5 years ago and have subsequently placed them everywhere in our high-end home. Yes they are more expensive than other fans but with these fans you really get what you pay for. Super quiet, extremely good for cooling rooms and look super slick. The best thing now is they have an app for iPhones so it fits… Read more
in with our whole home automation.
Can not recommend these enough. Worth every cent.
I wouldn’t bother with the additional wall controller as between the app and the remotes they are more than enough.
Enjoy!
so happy every day I chose this – love love my big ass fan! SOOO glad I decided to spend the extra money (we had to get 3 so it was quite expensive). well worth the investment., I would defineatley do it again. We have high ceilings, but still feels he wind. They are black and gorgeous, everyone comments on them Show details
My favourite – This fan is beautiful, its quiet, I love looking at it and love how it starts up when you enter the room. Really happy after much consideration to have chosen this fan. Haiku Ceiling Fan, H Series, 60 Inches, Standard Mount, Caramel Bamboo Airfoils, White Motor,(<125W), (ASIA,AUS), (M), 0.019HP,100-125, 200-240 VAC, Single Phase Show details
Very quiet and modern looking fan – This fan is silent. On the lower speed you are not even aware it is on. It is a beautiful looking fan, however on the downside - and why I did not give it 5 stars - we had one chipped by a tradie, and the ENTIRE fan needs to be replaced, as the blades are not available to buy individually. So this is an $1100 chip. The sales person said they… Read more
are individually balanced at manufacture and therefore blades cannot be replaced.
I also think they need to focus on the Haiku lower speeds. 1 is too slow, 2 is ok, 3 is too fast and anything above is way too fast ( and we have high ceilings) - there are 8 speed levels. 5 of which you will probably NEVER use. We had the option with the light, and they are dimmable and very good light level ( no other ceiling lights in the bedrooms other than the Haiku lights).
Be careful when installing larger fans to avoid strobing effects from downlights at night.
They are very energy efficient and we use them through winter to bring the warm air down and in summer to keep cool. We have hardly needed to use air-con with these on. Have had them fault free for 12 months now.
They are an amazing statement piece and I would buy them again, but would wrap them in bubble wrap if you need any work done in your house!!!
I can't read instructions in Mandarin – I paid $1355 for this fan in March. It arrived with an instruction booklet in Mandarin. This is not a simple fan so I rang Big Ass's Australian headquarters to request a booklet in English. I was told this would not be possible. So Chinese customers are catered for but not English-speaking ones? An American company selling products in Australia and they can't be bothered supplying a manual. You've lost me.
