Warranty is bad – Bought the Big Dog Alpha in part because of the warranty. Clutch is bad, simple replacement, but instead of providing the part so I can do it myself they want me to take the mower to a dealer 30 miles away and said their first opening for service is in 5 weeks. Show details

Don't waste your money- warranty is terrible, but quite the selling point – Our mower has sat with a broken seat at I-4 Power in Plant City, Florida for over a month and trying to get ahold of people at I-4 Power or Hustler/Excel Industries has been a challenge. wonderful warranty only works if you don't actually use your mower. It's a piece of machinery and it's defective. My husband (who uses the mower) is thin and yet the seat broke. Our final offer was to pay to have it replaced at cost- really? what about the great warranty we purchased? Don't buy a Hustler Excel Big Dog mower- there is no warranty to speak of and I-4 Power in Plant City was NOT our advocate.

Huge mistake – Bought brand new, on the first use I made 3 passes and the deck quit working. In the 3 passes I made I felt the mower lacked power which I didn’t understand with the 23hp Kawasaki. The dealer(GSA Equipment) picked it up and refused to refund my money for the mower. Dropped it back off and tell me I’m stuck with it. I would not recommend either company at all  Show details

satisfid – has been a great mower still running same belt that came with mower, only problem was the motor briggs/sttraton had to replace head gasket twice with in 50 hrs costs of $120.00 still mowing with it easy to change oil and to attach mulching guard it is a c-146 so get through most gates just fine.  Show details

Big dog doesn’t stand behind warranty – Bought in April 2016 - got one season and 1/2 of second - less than 200 hours and now it sits unused. Mower started cutting out and burning oil excessively. 4000.00 mower now needs an 1800.00 engine after less than 200 hours. Don’t waste your money on Big Dog mower! Customer service is ridiculous- Lief (representative) is sarcastic and rude and is as worthless as the actual mower! Beware consumers- you will end up with a fortune in a mower that can’t be used!

Company not helpful! – Bought the mower, wanted to exchange it, they charged me 500.00 to return it. Thanks Big Dog! I never moved the mower from delivery site. They called it a restocking fee. I'll restock all day long for 500 a mower. I won't use this company again. Bad customer service. Big Dog is not worth it!!  Show details

I bought this more brand new last year I have mowed once with it – This is junk do not buy I purchased this brand new last year. The first 15 minutes the deck broke on it. Amazing product – I have 19 acres but don't mow it all. I have a 20 year old ariens 48 in pulling a 48 in pull deck. It was hard to get in close and impossible to back out so didn't do some areas. I had never heard or seen a big dog mower and am amazed as to the quality of workmanship and overall heft. The deck lift is amazing for such a compact machine. should last a lifetime, cuts great steering only took a little while to get used to but easy as to use, everything on this ztr mower is very user friendly. I did notice a few variations in different brochures some specs differ & deck design varies in some pictures but none of this matters as the over all performance lives up to my/your expectations hands down, great comparative value to other ztr mowers out there & with the distributor less than an hour from home, parts/blades etc. won't be a problem, I doubt few could match the big dog.

Ride the Dog – Bought a C-146 3 years ago. Faultless performance. Heaps of power. Very well made. Easy to do simple maintenance on. Changed the side shield attachment to wing nuts so the shield can be easily removed and replaced. With shield off the mower just fits on a standard 6x4 trailer for transport.

Excellent Mower – After a lot of looking, finally purchased a 46 " cut big dog OMG I'm in love . Didn't take long to adjust to the steering, best thing ever. I cant believe how good it is , should have bought one a long time ago. Excellent mower for the price Easy Nothing

Best value top performance – Just purchased this Zero Turn mower, has best motor 18 HP Kawasaki and fabricated deck, making it the best buy for entry level mower. Only took a few minutes to get used to tiller controls, has heaps of power and is OK on slopes, looking forward to turning more of my grass area into lawn. Best equipped for price.  Show 3 replies
