Having indoor pets this is a MUST HAVE: two short haired giant breeds and 1 cat and light coloured c – I rent a property which specfically states I cannot have indoor pets. Well... I do BUT I make sure to cover up all the evidence of my wrong doing! I would reguarly rent the MASSIVE carpet cleaners that barely fit in the back of my hatch back every 3 months to really clense the carpets and keep them smelling and feeling nice! I kind of got over it… Read more
and wanted my own machine after calculating how much I'd spent on hiring machines. I utilised the product review site to find a highly recommended machine originally I was going to go with a Wertheim. WRONG reviews said that was a not just a bad idea but a fatal idea. I found on ebay these above machine for around $200.00 (half the price at godfreys - go figure). I now use it at least every 2 months. BIG thing I can attest too is the power brush is amazing! It not only helps lift the dirt but also traps hair and other larger nasty stuff something the hired machines could never do. I have been pleasantly horrified every clean how much hair though I regularly vaccum is still caught in the carpets.
Cons: I do wish both tanks in the machine were bigger so I didn't have to refill them as often. That being said it is CRAZY easy to do.
Pros: Does an amazing job sometimes so amazing you'll be horrified at the state of your carpet and may develop OCD like tendancies. ALWAYS USE WARM WATER being lazy yes I've tried to use it when its had old water thats cold in it best results are always with warm water. It does drive in the 3/4 hrs if not sooner - I'm in Brisbane so its already relatively warm. I love how the machine has an easy to store handle for the cord. I do with the cord was longer.. but thats what extensive cords were made for. I also love that it takes just ONE product to get the machine going (just detergent in the clean water tank) Hired machines require product in both dirty water and clean water tanks. Its amazing value for money and works excellant on hire pile woolen carpets (colour fast - though), article high pile non-colour fast carpets (ikea faux persian rug) and artifical general low pile carpets (some horrible plastic carpet in this rental thats light blue not grey like we originally thought).
Cannot reccomend this product enough. Should be offered at purchase of any puppy/cat/baby.
Pet mess cleaner – Perfect for cleaning pet odors on carpets. Cheap and easy to operate only fault the is emptying and refilling with water, but still a great product
Has come in handy with 3 indoor cats!! – We have had this machine for maybe 4-5 years. With 3 indoor cats, mistakes happen and it gives me a good reason to use the Bissell. Before we had it I would just spot clean but the carpets started to look like it had seen better days so we looked into a carpet washer. Especially as it cost us around $200 to get a professional to do our house, it… Read more
was the obvious choice to do it ourselves.
I have used it quite a few times and boy it cleans well!! You don't need to use much of the cleaning solution and it leaves a pleasant smell.
A few things to think of before using is to give the carpet a good vacuum before washing. for us it is mainly because otherwise the carpet washer is sucking up kitty litter & fur and I don't want it to clog up! Also needs to be done slowly so you are dragging as much water out of the carpet as possible. It is a little on the heavy side and I wish the power cable was longer, but an extension lead was all we needed to overcome that. To empty the dirty water is very simple and seeing all the dirty water being poured out is very satisfying.
Overall, great machine, the part that sprays isn't working as well as it has been so checking on that, but this is the first issue we've had. Highly recommend!
Amazing cleaning capability – I purchased the Bissel PowerWash Power Brush carpet cleaner several years ago as we have a number of pets in the house. The machine whilst heavy and hard to use on stairs produces an amazing result. We vacuum with a Wertheim vacuum cleaner before with great suction and it amazes me how much extra dirt and grime is removed from the carpets. The… Read more
clean is even better than a job the professionals do (just takes a bit longer). Clean is amazing. So much cheaper and more efficient than professional carpet cleaning. Can be heavy and hard to use on steps (minor concern)
This capert cleaning machine has far exceeded my expectations – I am very impressed with the cleaning performance of this machine. It's very easy to use. You put 60ml of cleaning formula and 2.8 litres of hot tap water into the clean water tank. The clean water tank is made of a soft clear bladder material. As the outside dirty water tank fills up, the clean water compresses down. You press down on a button to… Read more
release water on the carpet and release the botton to suck up the water along with the dirt. Our capet had not been steamed cleaned for about two years and had only been weekly vacuumed cleaned. I could not believe the colour of the dirty water (very dark brown). Once the clean water is gone, the machine makes a slightly different sound and the vacuum action will stop. Very easy to pull out the tank and empty out the dirty water. It was 20deg C the day I used it. I did a section at a time and moved on once no more water was being sucked back up. Drying time was around 3 hours. Less time of course on a warmer day. The Bissell formula came in a 709ml bottle. Bissell have a number of different cleaning formula products you can use. The best part is, my carpet has never looked better. No more hiring steam cleaning companies. This machine will pay for it's self after only 3 cleans. Fantastic value. This model is middle of the range. Easy to use. Cheap to operate with 11 tanks from one cleaner Formula bottle. Reasonably quick drying time. Need to use a lot slower than your normal vacuum cleaner. Need to use with Formula.
a fantastic product but still needs to improve – I used to rent a carpet cleaner from Woolworth, but recently decided to own one for convenience of cleaning at any time. After surveying market and reading reviews, I found out this product is the most cost-effective. It is easy to use and produces a very good cleaning result. But as an old saying, everything has two sides. When it was lifted… Read more · 3
upstairs after an emptied water container, the container fell off from a height of one metre. This causes a few cracks on the container top. Then I took it to Goodguy where the machine was purchased. A staff offered to exchange my cracked top with a good one in the shop laundry. However, when she passed me the 'good' one, we found cracks on it. She agreed it is a design and manufacturing defect. One week later, I got a new top from the store.
The top was probably made of PMMA which is a brittle plastic; the top also contains quite a lot sharp corners and edges, and these produce stress concentration.
Solutions: use toughened PMMA (made by Japan) or use good grade PC; reduce sharp corners and edges; the main machine should have a buckling mechanism to prevent it falling when lifted. inexpensive. effective cleaning, easy to use. the top of the water container is a con
