Bissell Vac & Steam

Too heavy to operate, but the steam function is good – We have been using this vac for close to a year now, the steamer function is really good, you can control the settings from low/high. Turn it on & off and just use the vac function. The only drawback is the weight of this product & also cannot be used in room corners.  Show details

Great combo – This vacuum has a good use of the combo vacuum or steam which is what sold us on it. We wanted to be able to clean our carpet but also steam some of the hard floors we have and save on time than Having to use the different devices! So basically it's a two on one which works really well cleaned our floors fantastically.  Show details

So.to my surprise I got a reliable Stick vacum – I was gifted a Bissell Stick Vac .I was very weary as ive had other brands &they were very poor quality. So to my surprise Bissells range is ideal for family homes &holds its charge .Which others didn't for very long .Best gift ive received. Cheap mechanisms – Regrettably the steamer / handle mechanism stopped working after just 1 year, once warranty expires.. Took the handle apart to reset the spring.. to my surprise they don't have a spring, Bissell uses cheap plastic shonky clips, that snapped inside. Designed to break, without a doubt! Wet wet wet – Our experience with steam mops is not a positive one. Keep in mind steam is very hot water. When is cools down, it becomes water again. As such, it makes everything wet. then need to wipe the water away - it actually easier to just use a normal spray on glass cleaner - although a metho/ white vinegar mix is best.

As far as steam mops go, it's probably fine. We just found it a waste of money.

Steam function great, suction perfect for hard floors – As a mum of a young boy this is perfect for me to clean up after his many antics. I know rooms are kept hygienic with the steam. Steam feature is great. Suction is strong enough for floors but can do with a bit more suction for thick pile carpets.

Easy for everyday use – Great little steam mop with the vacuum also. Wasn't expecting much for the price but it is pretty good. Quick to get out and use. Hoovers up debris while steaming at the same time. Great for those quick cleans for a fast spruce. My dogs leave paw prints everyday and I needed something that would cut down cleaning time. Now I don't have to get out a hoover and a separate mop. Could do with a few extra pad for the mop though.
