BlackVue DR400G HD

Might be great - but not compatable with HTC phone – Had very helpful sales person, but nothing worked after setting this unit up in my car. Tried numerous units, different models, etc - only to finally be told does not work with HTC mobile phones. Doesn't state this anywhere - only found out after much trial and error over 7 days. Would love to be able to buy one and use it - but if not compatible with phone, is useless.

Now I have joined the AAMI Safe Driver App which has accused me of hundreds of overspeeds this past month. Reviewing my BlackVue, all were incorrect!

Comforting to know that it can stand up in Court as evidence!

a company should bring out a product if so many elements have not been ironed out.

I would advise potential buyers to stay away until Pittasoft has done a better job improving the functionality and user interface of their products. See reviews on Amazon for further proof. Also I am currently trying to download the firmware which is 46.8MB but it is taking close to two hours because the company server is so slow. We have cable internet and nothing takes this long. Its just further proof that this company cares nought about customer service that their drivers take this long to download... this company is a joke and I would seriously advise others to stay away unless they want to throw away their money too.

**Update: Its been over two hours since I started downloading the firmware from blackvue.com/en/contents/sub3.asp and now the download refuses to finish at 42.9MB! There is no customer service for this product whatsoever - tried calling the Australian representative and met with an answering machine stating they would get back to you but did receive a call back all day. We also took the camera for a test drive in the afternoon and footage is not exactly HD despite claims of high clean crisp quality images. Audio is also poor with passengers voices barely audible. Avoid this brand! Advertising was slick and convincing User functionality is underdeveloped. Product should not have been shipped like this. Not user friendly

Great size and quality – Was so easy to install and it is really small and inconspicuous. Can be situated behind the rear view mirror. The video that takes is fantastic. I purchased it for around $285.00 however it was worth every dollar spent. The camera has a very wide angle lens that takes in all traffic around the car. Size, video quality, sound quality, GPS tracking via google maps.

behaviour, should that occur. also proves what you say in response to any questions, road rage etc. other cars licence plates very visibly recorded. everything, nice unit needs to come with bigger sd card, would be nice.

It works very well and has sound attached to the video file.

The video unit talks to you also to let you know when it is switched on and off and also when in parking mode.

The base level unit comes with a 16gig mini storage card (similar to that in a mobile phone) that stores hours of video - more than enough for most people in daily use.

If you want to remove the unit and store if off the car, the bracket that holds the unit to the windscreen allows the unit to be unclipped (you may want to take the unit off for cleaning or easy access to the memory stick).

I purchased the unit on Ebay and saved more than $300. Exceptional picture quality

So good have bought one for rear window as well This is a lower spec model but does the job without having GPS. However front one will also record details of any parking incidents and have GPS coordinates on it Every car should have one At The Moment is expensive but prices coming down
