see the tiny lights ( unfortunately mine is installed I front of the rear view mirror, so I can’t see the camera ), sometimes it says audio recording off while you’re driving and does all sorts of weird things. When trying to download any footage, then the real pain starts, the app is very slow and laggy, sometimes it just doesn’t load the app despite me restarting the phone. I’m disappointed that I spent so much money for so little gain.
If i could I would give it 0 it was recommended by car dealer. If you have a hybrid do not get this camera. Nothing but charge issue now it is saying stuff like unregistered camera etc waste of money will hopefully be able to get it out of my car soon Show details · 2
Such a useless piece of junk, I don't even know where to start. Inspected footage of an incident but after each subsequent viewing of the same file it would fail to play or download. Now after 4 days its overwritten. Probably the most annoying issue is it won't connect to the cloud automatically and is a manual process. Some footage will play yet… Read more
others won't. Some footage will download to my phone but for some reason other footage just fails everytime. Have given up trying to work out why the audio isn't being recorded even though the option is selected.

its max quality. - Weird combination of settings need to be either activated or deactivated for your backup batteries to be utilised fully and properly. - App allows only 1 internet access point, where i had the option, and utilised, 3 different access points - proximity sensor on the side is only for manual recording, instead of both manual recording and turn on/off voice recording.
At a cost of around $950 for the 2ch 970x plus its quite disappointing to have something many downsides, looking at changing over to the thinkware U3000 considering ive already spent the amount.

use the BlackView Chatbot but it just pointed to large amounts of reading, none of which appeared to have anything to say about the app and camera not connecting, or the app just loading, loading, loading. Another few grand wasted on a product that does not deliver!

Great camera. App needs a talking to – High quality camera with great customer support. After an initial hiccup with the cigarette lighter cord, I hardwired they unit in. Works beautifully. Great quality video from both front and rear cameras. The app is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it connects to live view, sometimes it doesn't. on how to fix the issue didn't help, twice my new car got hit by a trolley in the shopping centre and guss what dash cam did not work car got damaged, so do you self faver by a $150 dash cam and you want have any issues jump in the car everything starts automatically records front and rear in 4K quality no issues so ever. Don't waste money on this useless dash cam.

Worked ok until app update. Now useless – Doesn’t work since app tech update. No video, no connection, no cloud. Absolutely useless expensive junk. Don’t bother. Prior to app update, it was ok and managed to record ok but accessible only when connected to hotspot in my car. Show details
Recent SW upgrade a total disaster – Got the camera for less than a year and worked perfectly until the recent SW update. Now the camera is no longer accessible by the Cloud, shutting down even with backup battery. I only can access it by Wifi in the car. buying it, its not the camera which would perform excellent its the hastily untested releasing of new SW which screwed up the camera.
Interesting BlackVue feedback "Inaccurate/irrelevant content" ignoring a problem doesnt make it go away.

shadows. I was stationary and he was going about 30kph tops. I reviewed the rear camera to try and read its plate but it pixelated.
Updates and WIFI: Horrible. So when I use wifi in the car, it stops my phone from receiving texts and emails or anything for some reason. Its locks it up. SO i had to take the software off the phone and disconnect wifi. But the camera only updates over wifi. I live in a unit so dont get my home wifi reaching the car so its a pain to update. So im turning off half of the marketing that made me buy this thing in the first place. Waste.
Software and unit. The unit is constantly very hot. It is often telling me “parking mode on - parking mode off” while driving. I have reset it - formatted it - done everything. No luck. I contacted the company some months ago and no luck. BUT… (as an update to this article). I did get a reply after posting this review from Blackview with a fix for the camera (it was the install of the cable that causes the above issue). After changing the hardwired cable (thanks to Blackview for sending me a free one) I have not had this issue since. Thank goodness.
Re the footage. You cannot simply drag it into Adobe or Davinci video editing to enhance, zoom in, or fix it up - the software does not accept its files. If you try to send the footage to anyone over messenger - dont bother - it wont send. I dont know how apple messenger works but I dont like the chances.

replacement and this one is better but still takes about 3-4 minutes to connect. Meanwhile my much cheaper NavMan MiVue connects almost instantaneously. Had I known beforehand of this problem I would have bought another brand. When I upgrade to my next car a Blackvue camera will definitely not be on my shopping list.

Great Product - Great After Sales Service – Purchased my Blackvue dr900x-2ch and installed it myself. Instructions were simple enough, but kept draining the battery. Told BlackVue that I had wired the camera as per instructions but still draining the battery. the new camera, but same problem. Then I found I had used a dodgy fuse arrangement and that the camera was fine, and it was MY FAULT that it hadn't worked. Told BlackVue about my silly mistake, and they were most understanding and helpful. The camera is excellent, does all it promised, but equally important is that after-sales assistance. Thank you Chaim, the BlackVue person whose handling of this matter has resulted in this review.
