My 2004 r1150 rt suddenly lost telemetry on the RID. Clock went to zero and not getting oil temp or fuel level info. Any suggestions?
What does the motronics fuse regulate? It kept blowing. Especially when revs are high and dropped suddenly. I reset the electronics, like when you change the battery, and hasnt had the problem again, but am not sure whether this was the issue to deal with?
How many years BMW produced R1150RT!???!
2002 BMW R1150RT with 117,000 kms.
An otherwise excellent bike, however occasionally experiences a Total Electronic Power Loss when changing Gears.
No rhyme or reason (Shifting Up - Shifting Down) just out of the blue all power cuts, and I have to Press the Start Button to wind her up again.
As mentioned above, an otherwise excellent, problem free Dream Bike?
Any ideas?

Check your sidestand switch and the gearbox switch that tells the rider display which gear you are in(located at the rear of the gearbox.)

I'm looking into a 2001 RT with nearly 160k km on its clock. I hear they are good for their longevity but I've never owned a BMW before. What should I look out for?

Hi Noel I have a R1100RS with similar miles. No issues with it. It was an early 1994 model with the tapered roller gearbox main shaft bearings and I had to replace them as they were getting very noisy. Later models used ball bearings that don't have issues. If it has been maintained well it should be OK. I sold the R1150Rt for a R1200Rt. Superb bike, but still like to take the old R1100RS out for a ride.
Got retirement money bought a dream r1150 BMW 30,000 klms now has no brakes bmw say lack of use, new parts $4500 no support fom bmw warranty is out Tough luck Bruce The bike just lies in the shed wreckers offer $500 .Does any body know of subtitute parts or a repairer?
Youtube has video showing how to bypass brake booster/ ABS system and ditch it entirely. Might make the bike at least usable.

My bike has done 30,000 klms abs lights flash, brakes sometimes just dont work bmw say comon problem with low ks bike new abs unit $4,500 will fix the problem. My bike just lays unwanted in the shed, wreckers will pay 500$ for it Who would buy a bmw product ?
