Is it worth the premium price? – I recently experienced issues with my Bosch extractor hood, which is the third Bosch appliance I've owned that has broken down relatively close together. While the extractor hood worked well enough during its time, I found it to be quite noisy. However, the most disappointing aspect is that it stopped functioning right after hitting the 5-year… Read more

Given Bosch's reputation for producing well-built German products, I expected a much longer lifespan for their appliances. It’s disheartening to see this trend with multiple products failing around the same time.
Additionally, I’ve found the parts and repair service to be quite expensive. For anyone considering purchasing Bosch appliances, I would urge you to think carefully about whether paying a premium price is worth it, especially if you're only getting 4-5 years of functionality.
Not fit for purpose – The unit looks good and extracts a large amount of air, but the poor design means all the extracted air first hits the frame around the filter before extraction. So smoke extraction condense on this, and not in the filter. It requires constant cleaning. The best way to use it unfortunately is to open the cover panel so extraction can occur across the whole filter. It's a terribly poor design and should not be sold. Show details
Great unit !. Quiet, powerful, slim – We have had this new unit installed and working now for 2 months. Great performer !. Easy to operate, effective at removing steam/vapours etc. Looks great (you can barely see it) and we have rarely had it above the median setting to effectively operate. Takes up considerable space in the cupboard above but that was expected. Show details · 1
A word of caution if using with an induction cooktop – The Product is inherently unsuited to the task when used over an induction cooktop. I was experiencing increasing grease dripping from the unit. I cleaned the filters weekly but it made no difference. The unit id vented directly outside. I arranged for a service call as the unit is still under warranty. NB, Service call centre & Service Person… Read more
that attended were great - can't fault. I learned from the service person that the product itself is OK and had been installed correctly. However, when used in conjunction with an induction cooktop (mine is also Bosch) it is unable to extract the grease efficiently because - as explained to me - induction does not heat-up enough to vapourise the grease and consequently it is too heavy to be efficiently extracted. As a consequence, grease builds up in the ducting, and thanks to gravity, slides back down resulting in grease pooling and continuously dripping out of the rangehood unit onto the cooktop below. According to the service person, there is no solution to this problem and apparently, it is common???. In addition, the constant grease on the motor (it is everywhere inside to unit) will likely reduce the life of the product. This has nothing to do with the filters (that as mentioned earlier, I clean weekly) or how I cook (with very little oil/grease and with lids etc). I have not read anywhere about this "common" problem - if I had, I would certainly not have spent so much money for a product that is not designed to handle extracting grease when combined with what is becoming an increasingly popular method of cooking (induction) in many households. I can not express enough how disappointed I am with this expensive & now useless product. If this is a common/known?? problem, surely it should be addressed in the design or at least have a warning of the expected performance if used in combination with an induction cooktop.

Looks Great - Major Design Flaw With Air Vent – I thought this would be the "top of the line" Rangehood. There is a major design flaw, which causes a flap inside the unit to bang constantly. The buttons are great, lights are powerful, fan is good, but this noise is doing our heads in. Its constant and the rangehood doesn't need to be on. I suspect its related to air inside/outside the house and the flap opens to allow air out, but it bangs down making a racket. Don't buy this product ! Show details
Awesome – Fabulous extractor power, bright LEDs and generally not too noisy. Downside is if lights blow, I think it requires a technician call out. Edge perimeter extraction works really well and is easy to clean. Has a nice sleek profile and kitchen installer said it was as to work with to fit. No complaints. Show details
