Bosch is shocking – I purchased this rangehood after inspecting a display unit. I was told that the product was made in Germany and paid a premium price. The plastic cover over the motor under the filters clearly stated "Made In Germany". The motor on the unit caused vibration and I claimed under warranty. The motor was replaced. When the original motor was taken out, I was shocked to discover that the motor was sourced from Poland and not "Made In Germany" as stated on the plastic shroud covering the motor. I felt deceived by Bosch. But worse was to come. After the motor was installed, it was tested and seemed to work. Later the same day, there was a loud explosion in the unit with a bright flash of light coming out of the rangehood. I contacted the Bosch customer service centre by phone. After a long wait, I was told that Bosch would wait for the report from their service agent before taking action. After hearing nothing from them, I contacted Bosch again and was told that the unit would be repaired again as it was repairable. I protested and spoke to the manager of the service department. She promised that the faulty unit would be inspected and a replacement ordered on an urgent basis. Two weeks passed with no contact from Bosch. Then I received a call from Bosch saying the a replacement had been approved but the replacement would be a different model. I was not told what the model was. I asked whether the motor on the replacement was made in Germany. Bosch told me that the motor could be from anywhere. I requested the contact details of the Bosch CEO to lodge a complaint. Since then I have not heard from Bosch. Bosch has lost my trust, their customer service has been shocking and I no longer trust "Made In Germany" labels. Meanwhile, I have wasted a considerable amount of time and money on purchase & installation including ducting through the roof. My wife (who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis) and I have been also caused considerable stress by Bosch.
Dear Bosch Team - Have I asked for each individual part of the Bosch rangehood to be made in Germany? I do however expect the motor to be made in Germany if the plastic shroud cover over the motor clearly and proudly states "Made In Germany". Unless of course Bosch is so proud of the plastic cover being "Made In Germany". As for German engineered motors, the Bosch motor sourced from Poland has caused me nothing but trouble. The replacement motor has caused an explosion in the unit. Need I say more.
I had requested the contact details of the Bosch (Australia) CEO to discuss the issues as my experience with the Bosch rangehood and your customer service team has been terrible. The last Bosch team member I spoke to promised to convey my concerns and request to the Bosch team. Bosch was supposed to get back to me. I don't intend to phone your call centre and sit waiting on hold and then start all over again. If Bosch has a well manufactured reliable rangehood to give me then please call me. Otherwise just give me the contact details of the Bosch CEO in Australia.
