This Processor is rubbish – WE received this as a wedding gift and have been using it for 4 months. The motor will run for 5 seconds and then shut off and the light keeps flashing. You can immediately turn it back on and it works for 5 seconds and turns off ... Round and round the merry go round we go. I have tried reaching out to bosch for over a month with no success. Finally I got ahold of head office and they have told me tough luck because have no proof of purchase. Hard to obtain from a deceased family member that gave it to us.

Its a shame that such a reputable company no longer stands behind their product. They must know that they are selling inferior things. I guess it doesnt pay to drop the money for things anymore becasue they just break anways.

I highly recommend TO STAY AWAY from Bosh food processors.

WASTE OF MONEY – I was thinking Bosh is a good brand before I bought a food processor four months ago. I used for blending and cutting then one day I tried juicing an apple machine engine started making funny noises changing speeds up and down and stopping every second. Now I can not even blend without turning on and off machine every second.I called Harvey Norman Dandenong they refused to take it back even sales woman on the phone said I should have bought separate machines not a combo processor. I contacted Bosh, nothing. They even did not return my calls. They apparently stopped producing small kitchen appliances and they don't even give repair service anymore. So I have wasted my $200 on a brand name and Harvey Norman Dandenong and Bosh both are failed to give proper customer service. Never buy clearance product from retailers even its a bran name ask if it is a discontinued item.

it's flimsy, unstable and vibrates over the bench when trying to grate even carrot – the plastic on this machine appears very brittle and unfortunately after i received it, i saw on another website that parts break easily if accidentally dropped. i grated and then blended raw sweet potato in it and now the plastic is stained orange - the colour of the sweet potato. that's pretty disturbing that the plastic is so absorbent, which makes me wonder if it also leaches into the food as easily. i also don't like how the disk that holds the blades are plastic with just a little stainless steel grater blade which slots into the plastic turning wheel. this morning i've grated zucchini, carrots, capsicum etc and i find that even though i've peeled and sliced the vegetables, the grater on the machine doesn't grate all the vegetable and it leaves some ungrated vegetables above the grater blade. the machine starts to wobble and vibrate over the bench even after putting a small amount of vegetables through the processor and it become very unstable. i have to stop it and start it all the time to take out the ungrated bits from the machine. i literally have the feeling that the machine is going to shatter apart even on low speed because of how unstable, wobbly and "vibraty" it is. . i'm wondering if it's supposed to do this or if there's actually a fault. i realize now i would have been better off with a cheap kambrook food processor for $100 because even that has a full stainless steel blade, not cheap plastic. and my previous kambrook food processor didn't have any of these issues. i could grate away to my heart's content. but i thought by buying a more expensive one, i'd be getting better quality. clearly this is not the case. i hope this review saves others from wasting their money on this product.

i wanted to add for folks that another thing that is terrible about this machine is that it has too many parts for doing even the simplest chopping job. for example, the plastic thing that you push the vegetables through the chute with is made up of two parts which don't click together firmly. they click together loosely - making it easy for them to fall apart while you're holding that thing. also, just to do the chopping of vegetables, there are three parts to the chopping blade. there is like a shaft that slots onto the base, then another shaft that loosely fits over that shaft and there is the actual blade which loosely slots in over that second shaft. the three parts don't click together firmly and they hold together loosely, so that you really have to make sure that things are together enough for them to stay in place while chopping.

Very versatile appliance – We recently purchased the MCM4200AU. I've never owned a food processor before, and I'm really enjoying learning how to use this one. There are many features including the mixing bowl with assorted attachments for cutting, shredding, mixing, chopping and whisking. There is also a juicer accessory and blender. It's very easy to use and clean. I like how the accessories are stored in a drawer within the proccessor and easy to access. The feet have suction caps and it sits very sturdy on the bench. The lids on the blender and bowl need to be locked into place before it will operate and this is reassuring knowing that my teenagers are safe when using it (also means there's no exploding milkshakes!). Lots of useful accessories, very sturdy, well made. It's not the most attractive food processor on the market. The instruction booklet is pretty useless at explaining how it works.

Just wondering if this model is still going strong. I looking at purchasing this one or going for the breville pro which is more expensive. Any comments?

Sorry I've only just seen your comment Wendy so this is probably no use to you now, but for anyone else that's interested, this machine is getting used at least once a day in our house and I still love it - no problems with it at all.
