Don’t waste your time or money. I bought this less than 6 months ago and the blades have already stopped spinning properly. Was fine for a few months but now it’s stopped working. Was simply trying to make some protein balls (which I’ve made before with no problems) but this time the blades just won’t cut through. I went through the process of… Read more

soaking the ingredients (namely the cashews and the dates - I’ve never had to soak the dates before but after trying to blend without soaking I decided to troubleshoot by soaking the dates to soften them. It didn’t work evidently.) I then added hot water to the bowl hoping it would help it blend and not stick but it still had issues. I ended up going back to my NutriBullet which wasn’t great (and this food processor was meant to replace it) but still did a better job than the food processor. After adding water etc while troubleshooting I’ve been left with some slop I don’t know what to do with. Note: I also tried making pesto last night and had some troubles with getting it chopped fine enough. Coupled with this today I’ve given up and reached out to return/get a refund. Wasn’t ever overused or overloaded. I have probably used it less than 10 times since I bought it and never loaded it past the maximum. The “low” function is also very fast (when it was working before these issues arose), so be prepared there’s no real slow/low options.

Do not recommend. I got swept up in the ninja hype but it is not worth it. I’ve never written a review before but this seriously annoyed me so hope it helps someone else.

I was on the hunt for a food processor and reviewed other models such as Kenwood , Kitchen Aid etc. Many of the food processors were up there in the price range and had more attachments than a lego set, not to mention having to store it all. They catered more for larger familes or regular party hosts. The Ninja BN650, isn't a small dog, it does… Read more

exactly what you need with plenty more to give. It sits firmly on the bench via suction cups that don't give up easily with the attachments easily fitted. Mind the Food Chute Lid has a type of silicon ring fitted on the outer edge ensuring liquids stay inside which takes a little effort to fit or remove. You could quite easily use / fit the attachments of the unit without instructions as it is fairly obvious how it all works. As they say "not rocket science" I was keen to test it out so decided energy balls was the way to go. The 3 blade chopper blade and using the low power alternated by pulse chopped the Apricots to the right size, the same can be said for the nuts. I substituted the chopper with the Dough blade (why would I mix by hand if I have a machine) added desiccated coconut, honey and then set in on low. What a great result. Better than I could do by hand I then tried the grater disc and ran a block of Palmerston cheese through it, the result was brilliant. No more cheap prepackaged stuff from now on. Yet to try slicer, so will come back with that. The unit does everything a food processor should at less than half the price and size

Excellent machine – I recently bought this food processor from Ninja. It was quick to come via parcel post to my regional area. I have been so impressed with the quality of this machine and how easy it is to operate. It does such a good job of blending, emulsifying and chopping, and it's really easy to clean. I dont know how I lived without it. This is my second Ninja item in my kitchen, they make excellent products. Show details

Great little machine – The Ninja professional food processor has been a nifty little gadget to add to our kitchen arsenal. The Auto IQ buttons for Choping, Pureeing, Slicing and Mixing have been a godsend for prep time. It chops really well! It has sharp blades and a powerful motor for efficient and consistent chopping. enable you to get your slices perfect every time.

I have pureed apples for deserts and it easily transforms the apple into a smooth, creamy texture. I'd imagine for those making baby food this device would be great.

We have mixed pizza dough very fast, although the kneading process after still needs to be done so you have a perfect pizza base.

Clean up is relatively easy, just take out the blades and rinse under the tap. The bowl itself fits into my dishwasher easily and comes out sparkling clean.

It's not too loud when in use, like previous Ninjas we have used.

Its size is perfect, having previously owned a larger food processor I've believe this size is far more useful for everyday use. Small things like curries, herbs etc can all be pulses with ease.

I am yet to mince meat as I own a mincer, however will be keen to try this and possibly ditch another machine

Nothing bad to really say about this great machine. Will be back in 6 months to update if required.

Speeds up food prep nicely – I'll preface this by saying that the only food processor I had owned prior to this was a cheap Kmart one that ended up in the back of a cupboard after a couple of uses. I can say with certainty that that won't be the case with the Ninja. This saves so much time on food prep, almost everything I need sliced/diced/grated/minced for meals can be done… Read more

in literally a couple of seconds with it and, seriously, not having to manually grate carrots ever again is amazing! The machine comes with a few different attachments that can be used depending how you want your food 'processed'. There is a big blade fitting for chopping, a flat disc that can be flipped over to do slicing one side and grating the other, and then there is a plastic/blunt one for mixing things. There are automatic programs you can select to Chop, Puree, Slice and Mix, or alternatively, you can manually choose your speed or the pulse option. I personally find the slice/grate attachment the most useful. I can use this to slice up veg for most meals. The chop function I found a bit hit and miss, it was good when I wanted things chopped small, but it just didn't work when I wanted larger chunks (eg. 2cm cube size). I also wasn't impressed with how it went chopping meat. I tried it on chicken and ended up with some really big chunks and then some too small ones, so I doubt I'll use the chop setting again for meat.

The pictures I've attached are some carrot grated with the grating disc, zucchini sliced on the same disc flipped over, potato and carrot chopped together on the chop setting (run twice so it is smaller pieces) for a soup.

Pros: - makes slicing and grating a breeze - chops veg very quickly into small pieces - can mince meat for dumplings/sausage rolls - user friendly 'one push of a button' program settings - mixes cake batter (not that exciting on it's own, however it means not needing to keep a separate mixer appliance for this) - everything it does is super fast and saves so much time vs manually chopping/slicing etc. - easy to swap attachments out - easy to clean (all attachments are dishwasher safe too)

Cons: - chop setting doesn't work well on meat at all - some inconsistency in size of pieces on chop setting - unable to chop into bigger chunks -suction cups on bottom don't hold on to my counter at all (easy enough to have a hand on it for the two seconds it takes to do it's thing, and probably depends on the surface, but may bother some people)

Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Ninja Professional to anyone looking to buy a food processor. It's definitely something I will continue to use on an almost daily basis for dinner preps. I would give 4.5 stars if they had half stars.

A very good all round food processor – WE were invited to put the Ninja BN650 food processor through its paces and offer our thoughts on it. To put this in context, we have owned a larger Magimix food processor, a Kenwood Patissiere mixer, various hand held mixers etc over the years for comparison. First thing to say is that the unit is SOLID! Though it is not huge, the base is heavy,… Read more

which implies a robust motor...more on that later. It has non-stick feet which hold on very well even in the hard jobs. It comes with several attachments...a slicing disc, a chopping blade and a dough blade. The slicing disc can be flipped over for grating. Both this and and the chopping blade are very sharp (be careful). The bowl and lid are made of tough clear acrylic, and the lid has a neat click latch which must be closed before use or the unit will not operate (see video). The bowl and attachments are all dishwasher safe, but with all its nooks and crannies, we have not yet put it through the dishwasher. So how does it go? Let's list a few things: - Simple mixing jobs are handled with ease, as you might expect, though you are better off with a hand mixer for whipping cream - Slicing and grating: because there is only one slicing disc included, you are limited to one thickness of the slices, likewise for the grating jobs, but it does do both jobs very easily. - Chopping: Does not blink an eyelid. The chopping blade (like the dough mixer) has four blades, with two set above and at right angles to the lower two. These are DEADLY sharp...handle with care! The upside is that it chops everything we threw at it without raising a sweat. -Bread and dough making: This was one of its most impressive performances. There is no longer any need to rub the butter and flour together...you can take a block of cold butter straight out of the fridge and put it in, and it will easily cope with it! There are a few downsides to it...the ingredients feed chute is a bit on the small side, so firm vegetables like carrots or potatoes must be chopped up to fit. Though the bowl says it holds 2.1 litres, with the slicing/grating disc in place the capacity is reduced to about 1.8 so you might have to do the job in a couple of goes. The dough mixer and chopping blade are fiddly to clean, and as stated, you have to be very careful with the chopping blade as it is VERY easy to cut yourself when cleaning it. Overall, this appears to be a quality, well made unit that does a decent job of the majority of cooking tasks you might have. We would highly recommend it if you are starting out...it would make a great wedding present for example. If you are a more experienced cook you might wish for more variety of attachments, but overall, it is a very good product. PROS: Solid, well made and copes with most cooking jobs easily CONS: Bowl and feed chute a little small; could do with more different slice and grating discs; care must be taken when cleaning. VERDICT: Good value for what it does; recommended

I'm so confused! – So, I guess I'll start by saying that I mainly use food processors to slice potatoes when I make potato bake, dice onions, and really that’s about it. I don't tend to use them all that often. My last food processor felt cheap and nasty but it worked for what I wanted it for and it never let me down. The only reason I stopped using it is because… Read more

the shaft that the slicer attached to went missing for the second time and I was unable to source parts for it this time. I was sent this to review which is perfect timing so ill review it as if I paid for it and as I would use one and require it to do.

First off, I want to say the build quality of every component feels so much better than my old one. Everything clips together nicely and tightly and works well. I don't have to wiggle it to get safety sensors to work, it all just clips together so well that I just don't ever see it breaking. All the attachments fit together nicely and it even feels nice to assemble. The suction cup feet are amazing and work well to keep the machine stable.

The buttons on the machine feel like they are of quality, not like a cheap fan switch or anything like that. I was impressed with the smart programs and used the “slice” often as that's what I use processors for. This whole thing just reeks of quality and I would have given it as many stars as I could but! Now I know this may seem like a small thing and to some it might not even matter at all but as for someone who uses a food processor to slice potatoes for Patato bake it's huge. Look at the provided photos and you will see the difference in the size of the feed shoot! I was so excited because I was hosting a BBQ and didn't have to slice potatoes for a bake however when I went to use it, I was lucky to be able to fit half a potato in the shoot at a time. For me, this made the machine a complete waste of my time. I mean, that's the single only reason I bought my old one.

I have used it to chop onions also and it did a good job at it. I also made a salsa that was in the included recipe book and it was absolutely amazing and a hit too. I have also placed cooked potatoes with the plastic blade to make a smooth mash and it was amazing once again!

Overall, if there was an optional Lid with a larger shoot that you could buy for $20, I would buy it and this would be the best food processor I had ever owned. Everything about it is absolutely amazing but not being able to slice potatoes is a failure for me. If you don't have plans to use it for that then you will have yourself an amazing food processor!

An effortless food processor that packs a punch! – I was ecstatic to review the Ninja BN650 food processor. Winter is the time of year when I put my food processor through its paces as I make a lot of soup during this time. There is nothing better than fresh vegetable soup. I also make meat, vegetable and fruit mince pies which do require an (even) amount distribution of ingredients per pie.… Read more

Between the soup and the pie production, my previous food processor was slow and screaming for retirement. The Ninja on the other hand is a powerhouse that does not disappoint. What is in the box? 2.1 Litre/9 cup capacity jug, 850 watt motor, feed shoot lid Weight: 3.24 Kg Quad Blade (reversible slicing, grating disc) + disc adapter Chopping blade and dough assembly blade Previous processors I have used in the past, just getting the lid into the correct position was an arduous task/fight between the lid and the jug.

Not so with the Ninja. The feed shoot (lid) aligns effortlessly every time. Place lid on jug adjacent to the lock, turn and snap your done! The locking device lines up every single time. Once the lid is locked into position, get processing. Once finished you need to push the black safety button to release the feed shoot lid from the food processor bowl, otherwise it will not open. A great safety feature to thwart inquisitive little hands from being hurt.

What I love most about the Ninja is its one touch button system. The Ninja has preset auto IQ® programs, they are CHOP, PUREE, SLICE and MIX. The quad blade chops so fast and precisely which I was very impressed (blink and you would miss it!) with. Chopping celery, leek and potatoes for a hearty vegetable soup no problem, clean cut almost identical slicing.

Onion puree was next on the list. I chopped the onion roughly and place into the feed tube, hit the puree button and the Ninja does the rest. I also pureed apple (for a roast pork) and made my granddaughter fresh pumpkin and carrot mix. Again, the ease of using the one touch button system.

Next test; banana cake using the dough blade. Add ingredients, mix for 10 minutes then pour into baking tray. Simple. There is a recipe booklet included in the box and I decided to give the banana cake recipe a go. However, I do not think I will bake the banana cake again as it only lasted 5 minutes before being devoured by (vultures, oops I mean loved ones!).

The Ninja delivers every time. Whether it be blending, chopping or grating cheese. Its speed and precision (especially chopping) are amazing. The programming, a simple touch of the button with no brain strain needed when selecting what you want the Ninja to do. The jug, lid and blades are easy to clean and rinse. The Ninja parts are dishwasher safe and BPA free.

Overall, the Ninja food processor is my favourite kitchen appliance addition this year. The simplicity is second to none. Very impressed. Superfast and super easy to use. It ticked all the boxes for me, a 10/10.
