Pretty good, except the shortest cycle seems to be 1h. When I press the "speed perfect" it displays codes like r001,d00,A00,101, 602 (with an ongoing beeeeeeep sound), rE in succession when I keep pressing it. ..but nothing seems to happen.
Firstly it smells awful - the stink is still strong after almost a year. Secondly its ugly and incomplete with no metal on top- I know its ann under bench model but it still should have a cover, my benchtop is a little higher than normal and I can see straight into the ugly, unfinished top of the machine. well and it does not dry at all - even on the extra dry setting. It cannot do the job! I thought I was getting a good brand but it is the worst decision. My old machine lasted for decades and did a brilliant job - I can't believe the rubbish you get now in comparison. Do not buy! Big waste of money.
Worth the money? Sadly not – Very disappointed. We bought the dishwasher just over 2 years ago and today it stopped working. We got an error on the display (888) which is not mentioned anywhere. We called Bosch and they say we don't have anyone that can repair it where we live. The warranty run out 2 months ago. Terrible dishwasher- the toxic smell is unbearable – I wish I’d googled other reviews before I purchased this dishwasher…alas, I didn’t and now I find myself with a dishwasher that emits a toxic smelling , bitimen/tar-like odour. they advised that the machines are tested after manufacture, hence the wet, smelly inside… they were very helpful and went out of their way to find a solution, so the machine was taken back and a replacement provided promptly at no cost to me. I hoped the new unit would be better, as it wasn’t wet inside, but it did have the same smell…..fast-forward to well over 15 hours of cycles, including one with vinegar at the suggestion of the AO representative, I called them to advise it was not improving and clearly not fit-for-purpose, I am unhappy with the machine and I would like it returned and refunded….was advised that it must first be assessed by a Bosch repairer…which has been booked by me for next week. I did explain to him he is coming to smell the unit, not repair it! Interestingly, AO mentioned that they had another customer call for the same issue a few weeks prior to my call.
This Bosch unit has ruined my plastic dishes- I cannot get the smell out of them, my house stinks, my kids complain about the smell, I have a constant headache and all my dishes need to be re-washed after using it, due to the smell it leaves on everything!
If not for this stench, I do have some positives: the dishes are very clean, after setting the extra drying time option the dishes are lovely and dry, and wow…this dishwasher is so quiet that I sometimes have to check if it is actually running a cycle!
If dishes are left in for more than an hour after the cycle finishes the inside of the machine and the dishes become very wet. There is also a sticky brown substance on the back of the machine….(for some reason my provided photos of this won’t display). I just want this dishwasher out of my house! I am now waiting for the Bosch repair agent to come inspect the machine…and have been hand washing all my dishes for over a week now. Buyer beware.
Edited to add: Bosch were great and refunded and removed the dishwasher within a week. I’ve replaced it with a Westinghouse.
Another Bosch dishwasher fails to deliver – This my 2nd Bosch dishwasher in 8 years. The first dishwasher failed after 5.5 years and now my Serie 4 SMU46GS01 is E14 error coding after 2.5 years. The E14 error code is flow meter sensor error and to get a Bosch technician to come look at it is a $110 call out fee, plus $11 per 6 minutes, plus cost of parts. been reasonable, given the age of the dishwasher, that Bosch would attempt to look at the unit free of charge, but it appears not. The repair cost would approximately be half of the purchase price so it doesn't make it worthwhile.
Both dishwashers have worked great - really clean dishes and quiet operation, just the reliability of Bosch dishwashers appears to be lacking. I will be looking at other brands for its replacement.
My Bosch dishwasher stopped working after 2 1/2 years… not quality anymore – I rinse food off my dishes, put dishwasher through clean cycle once a month & clean filter & drain out once a week. Bosch & I’m very very disappointed in my choice. We had issues with our Bosch oven after 12 months also. I spent a lot of money on these products & poor quality parts. Don’t buy a Bosch… they don’t last.

this?), it says in fine print some plastics not suitable for washing. Super dry function doesn't alter outcome Extremely long 2.5 hours plus washes Not very quiet either Disappointed, won't buy again.
24 months update Performance has declined and now won't wash properly either. You have to laugh at the current tv campaign which says don't rinse first to save water, makes it even worse. Plates need almost rinsing clean if the washer is to work.

Disappointed – We recently bought this dishwasher and have been extremely disappointed. We bought a basic Bosch dishwasher 13 years ago and were extremely happy with it's performance, so decided to buy this later version higher spec unit. This dishwasher does not clean the dishes as well as the old one did. Also doesn't dry as well, even though we have been using the 'extra dry' function. Good - but instructions are difficult to decipher – I bought this for the name mainly. It has a good reputation. It washes everything well. No complaints. But the instruction manual is difficult to read and basic functions are not even covered in the manual. The manual needs to be totally re-written. "Bosch" user. I had to google some tutorials and call Bosch directly to get instructions on how to use it.
Update: After a month or so still quite happy with it. Only very slight issue with the draining noise. Alot of effort has been used to quieten the machine which is excellent. However when it drains the water there is a very raucous sound which is not the most polite sounding noise especially if you have guests in the same room. I think this should be the next thing to look at for Bosch to quieten the draining if they can.
Perfect Replacement – I have not had this dishwasher long but, so far, so good. Love the cutlery drawer and the long stem glass holder. The control panel is clear and easy to understand. Have tried the “perfect speed” button to halve the wash time of “auto” cycle and i still get a perfect wash. I’m never in a hurry to complete a wash so I will probably use “eco”… Read more · 1
only for the most economical wash at about 2 1/2 hours. It woulda great and dries everything nicely. The installation was a bit bothersome for us but with the help of a family member, we did manage the process without professional help.
bosch dishwasher – the dishwasher that I got with a brand new build house in SA was bosch. Didn't use it yet and has a computer module failure that needs to be replaced. If the product is unused then it should be a replacement but called bosch and they said that they warranty rule to fix first and thats ridiculous if the dishwasher is unused. since we have to wash dishes by hand for 8 weeks after handover for the brand new house. The house was bought by oakford homes and paid extra to get the bosch dishwasher since eveyone says its good but if we have stocked to the standard blanco dishwasher this wouldn't have happened. If anyone thinks this dishwasher is good look at the warranty policy before buying. So you don't go through the same as me. Most decent cheap new dishwashers like blanco or anything is better then this dishwasher. My family and I threw this dishwahser outside and bought blanco dishwasher and its amazing. Even tho we paid extra from our own pocket for the crap bosch dishwasher. And paid more to get a descent dishwasher to make my mum happy not washing dishes by hand. Don't go through oakford homes in SA due to making everything really cheap around your house and make mistakes everywhere and providing a faulty dishwahser.

No problems, seems reliable – Have had for less than a year, but so far so good. I particularly like the Bosch styling. Sometimes it's a bit hard to know what stage of the wash cycle it is up to, maybe a bigger screen model solves this? I also prefer switches and dials to buttons, but personal preference I suppose!
