The series 6 vacuum cleaner is reasonably efficient, but as reviewers have pointed out, the brush head very soon clogs up. I can live with that. But the most infuriating part about this vacuum is the build quality. Where the pipe connects to the head the connection is not strong enough. After a couple of years of modest use the pipe to the hoover… Read more
head comes loose causing the electrical contact to the brush roller to fail . The only way I found to get around this problem was to cover the internal pipe with a small amount of gaffer tape. This of course makes it more difficult to remove the pipe to use the small nozzle in the head for cleaning or for small hand held jobs. Definitely a design flaw. The weight of the brush head and pipe is too heavy for the push connection at the head when the cleaner is lifted and moved about.
Worst Vacuum I've Ever Purchased - Don't trust the good reviews because they are wrong – I wish I was wrong, but this vacuum is garbage. There are sooo many flaws in the design of this thing you would think it was a Chinese copy instead of something from a known German brand. I bought this as an alternative to a Dyson and I have nothing but regrets. It says it's specifically for pets which is a joke. The power head gets clogged and… Read more
stops spinning every single time I use it. Which means I have to empty the head multiple times during use. The power head is designed too small when compared to a Dyson. My Dyson power head NEVER clogged, never. Then there's the battery life which after a month of use reduced to about 60%. The power head roller wheels clogged up too which needs constant cleaning. This thing is terrible in so many ways. Don't waste your money. My old Dyson is still better than this thing, the only reason I got it is because it has the HEPA filter. Going back to Dyson with a HEPA filter next. German quality not what it used to be.
Great Vacuum Cleaner But Brush-head Motor Too Weak – After due research I decided on replacing my cheap vacuum cleaner, which wore out after about 3 years, with this Canstar recommended product. Pros:- - Great suction - Two batteries (plenty for a large house) - Many attachments - Neat wall attachment that holds some of the attachments - Runs quietly, even acceptable on turbo - looks and feels… Read more
like all good German made Bosch gear. Cons - The main one is that the brush-head motor is too weak to drive the brush when using turbo mode on my deep cut-pile (not loop) carpet. It just grinds to a halt and requires switching off and on to start spinning again (yes the brush is clean). I reported this and Bosch sent me a replacement head, but unfortunately same story. I still use the Bosch on the carpets using the very strong turbo as it still cleans okay without the brush spinning. The small brush head with soft bristles works fine. Just hope the motor doesn't burn out! - The inner HEPA filter clogs quickly with fine dust. They are not washable and in order to get rid of the fine dust, you have to repeatedly bash it against something (outside bin) to dislodge the fine debris, but that makes the fine dust go in the air and you breath it in! Considering it's probably mainly skin particles/dust mites etc, this is a pretty gross procedure! I have bought a spare one. I've read quite a few reviews where people have complained that performance diminishes after some months... I suggest this may be because they are not (trying?) to clean the inner HEPA filter, just emptying out the bigger debris in the cannister? - The long flexible wand is a great idea, especially for cleaning cars, but unfortunately, when on turbo, it tends to suck itself closed in the middle. I'm still trying to figure a way to stop this... - Having taken the Brush-head apart i noted that the two electrical wires that leave the stem and enter the head pinch when the vacuum head is moved left to right. I wouldn’t be surprised if these wires were the next thing to fail...
Poor battery life – I was initially happy with this product however the battery life is very poor. I used to be able to vacuum all my 2 br villa but now I can only do 1 br and the hall. I have to use turbo most of the time as the ordinary suction is insufficient to pick up fluff from the carpet. The hallway is timber and I still need to use turbo to pick up the dog hair. Very good Design but won’t suggest – Used on hard surfaces and carpets. It’s Bosch so you definitely expect better performance and design. No doubt it’s a good vacuum but you can’t charge both the batteries at same time. For $500 if you can’t charge them together believe me it’s worthless. It’s not hard to design a docking station which can charge both batteries together, it may… Read more
cost you $20 extra add additional charger in left or right side of the docking station. have to wait for total of 8 hrs to charge both batteries and keep replacing them…
Question for Bosch why do you even have a second battery with no charger?
Disappointed :( with product but Bosch is a company you can trust to cover the warranties.

BOSCH Cordless Stick Vacuum - Really good performance - good value – I really like the feel of this cleaner's light weight, balance and flexibility. I can vacuum my 82 sq m, 2 br apartment in 35 minutes running time, on a single battery (70 minutes with 2 batteries). I can also deep clean with short bursts of Turbo power, for example when vacuuming door mats. However, compared to my vacuuming efforts, my cleaning… Read more
lady can do this job in half the time that I take. Using my Bosch cleaner, she can vacuum double the area that I can, on a single battery. This means that with 2 batteries, my cleaner can vacuum 328 sq metres of a house. When a carpet is regularly cleaned, she usually empties the dust container (dustbox) when she has finished a job.
The suction power is good and the turbo power is much stronger. Even though normal power is less than a corded cleaner, its effectiveness is boosted by the powered head, so you get the safe level of suction boosted by the powered brushes. The powered floor tool cleans hard floors, carpets and rugs. There is also a smaller powered upholstery tool, and 2 unpowered attachments: - a long crevice tool and a dust brush. These çan be attached directly to the motor head and you can take them anywhere: vacuuming stairs, tight spaces, furniture or inside cars. This cleaner comes with a wall mount hanger/charging point, but that doesn't work in the apartment where I live because I am not in a position to add a dedicated power-point for charging. I just stand my cleaner in the corner of a hallway cupboard and I charge it in the laundry, or anywhere else that I choose. I would like to have a stand for it but in reality, I have nowhere to place one. Therefore I mark the cleaner down 0.5 on my own design scale - I think this cleaner should rate 4.5 design stars for design because of the absense of a stand, although I have now learned of a universal stand that I will investigate further.
I haven't owned this cleaner long enough to know how kind it is to my carpet, but it glides effortlessly over my current carpet and lifts the pile, leaving trails of fresh-looking carpet in its wake. This cleaner can vacuum all floor types seamlessly with the exception of loop pile wool.
I have recently learned that cleaners with powered or turbo brushes should not be used to vacuum loop pile wool carpets. They need vacuuming with adjustable suction, not powered brushes. That is not a shortcoming of this cleaner. It is the nature of loop pile wool carpets that the loops get damaged by rotating brushes.
Importantly, BOSCH continues making parts available for its products for 10 years after a model is discontinued. Long may this model run.
Perfect floor cleaner – Recommended by a friend, we have been using the Bosch cordless vacuum for over a month now and love it. We have 2 dogs on timber floors and use it every day. It came with 2 rechargeable batteries that have plenty of battery life for a 5 bedroom home. Plenty of suction with a turbo button for heavier objects it cleans effortlessly. Multiple attachments, this vacuum is great value for money. Show details
A great little sucker! – When it comes to vacuum cleaners, I am a huge Dyson fan. See my Dyson V11 review here: https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/4a479dc3-9bfb-4078-87c8-5e25147e8691 I wanted a new vacuum for a holiday home, but didn't want to pay a thousand dollars for it. The house has mostly floor boards with carpet only in the 3 bedrooms, which are upstairs. I… Read more
opted for the Bosch Unlimited Pro Animal cordless vacuum at around $500. This is not to be confused with the Bosch Athlet Zoo Pro Animal Vac or the Bosch Bagless pro Animal. Confusing, isn't it! The Ultimate Pro Animal Vac is a stick vacuum, similar to a Dyson or LG etc. It is red, and mine came with a large roller head (smaller than the Dyson V11), a small roller head for upholstery, a spare brush insert for the large head, a brush attachment, a very long flexible nozzle, 2 rechargeable lithium ion 18 volt batteries, a charger and a wall mountable charging station bracket. Firstly, let's discuss its performance. The vacuum is very light, much lighter than the Dyson V11. This makes it very easy to carry up stairs and a joy to push around, as much as vacuuming can be a joy. It does a very good job of vacuuming on the timber floors and seems to do a good job on the carpets. I am not sure it sucks up as much fine dust as the Dyson V11, but it seems to do the job. All the tools work well, but I was very sceptical about the crevice tool. It is very long, about 45cm, and is very floppy. I assume it is bendable to get into tight spaces, particularly in cars. Anyway, it works well. With the extra length I can vacuum the tops of the skirting board without bend down, great for my back. The 2 batteries are obviously interchangeable and rechargeable. However, Bosch as they do with many tools only supply a slow charger, and sell fast chargers separately as an upgrade. I think for the money they could throw in a fast charger. The batteries take around 5 hours to charge which is dreadful in this day and age. A white light on the vac flashes whilst charging, and it seems to flash forever. Anyway there are 2 batteries so you should always have a fully charged spare. The battery life is very good, you get a good 35 minutes at normal speed, which is more than sufficient for floor boards and about 20 minutes on Turbo, which is again more than enough for the bedrooms. It is quite a large house and I have never found battery life an issue. The docking station recharges the battery which is very handy as well, but the battery can be recharged in the vacuum by itself if you do not install the docking station on a wall. The vac is very easy to empty, easier than the Dyson V11, which I find quite stiff, but it doesn't hold as much. Overall the Bosch Ultimate Pro vac is a very good, light vacuum that does surprisingly well. It is very affordable and easy to use. Would I trade in my Dyson V11? No way, but if your budget is around $500 the Bosch is a great choice.
