How can I remove the top cover of bosch serie 6 dishwasher, Model No. SMS67MW?

I have a BOSCH SMP66MX05A and it has been working fine but all of a sudden now we can't change the program. It is stuck on the 60 minute quick wash, no other buttons respond, not even the add on buttons of extra dry etc. It still runs fine but only on the 60min cycle. Is there a way to factory reset or some other solution?

I have a Bosch SG14345AU that is probably 17- 20 years old. It will no longer function . It is a built in by the original owners. What current Bosch machines will fit into that space please? There is no room for a larger machine. H. 810mm. W 598mm. D 570mm according to your web site Pauline

Does my dishwasher display the time remaining in the optical light display onto the floor as I'm unable to set using the manual instructions as it doesn't show the 5:01/5:02 setting?

Warren
Warren

Deleted first answer, was too much of a rant. The 5.01 and 5.02 settings are for the feature 'timelight', which only comes with the fully integrated dishwashers, ie not this model. This serie 6 model has 'infolight', which as you know is just the red optical spot on the floor when it's running. That's all we get; there is no 'time remaining' display because the display on the top of the door goes dark, once started. Yes the Bosch website (still) says this model has a 'time remaining' display but not really, given that it's dark once started. The manual itself covers many models, some of which have options that others don't. Hope that helps.

My new Bosch serie 6 arrived with a piece of long white plastic like a seal that I cannot find a use for. It’s as wide as the dishwasher. Is it a spare part or should it be installed somewhere? The other items included had a clear purpose.

Warren
Warren

I think it's a strip to protect the benchtop above, from moisture right where the door opens. Look hard in the (crappy) instruction pics and you should spot it. I didn't need it as I have stone benchtop. If you have laminate you should use it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that

Just bought a Series 6, haven't run it up yet, but just have a question, does the unit have a clock in it or is it just for time remaining?

Many thanks.

Time remaining

Warren

If it's a top of door display, it goes out when you start it. Not really a time remaining display since it's dark. More a 'time to run' display until you start it.

Does not seem that this Bosch response even read the post. Seems no point in reading the Bosch response!

Hi, we just purchased and installed a Bosch series 6 SMP66MX03A. What we are finding is that it does not dry very well at all, even with the extra dry function pressed - certainly not over stacking either.... any suggestions? even the inside of the door was wet today :(

Chris
Chris

Hi Steve, this is a drawback with this model. The extra dry function still does not dry the water from off the upturned cups.

Thanks Chris…. Bit disappointing

I agree with Chris, this is a drawback for this model! Sadly, the 'eco-friendly' features have come at the expense of efficiency! I consider the top cutlery tray an unnecessary/useless feature, other consumers may disagree. If I do use it, contents from this area are always very wet when cycle is finished. My previous 10 year old Bosch washed extremely well on the Quick cycle and contents were always bone dry at completion. I rarely used the longer cycles, I miss it!

I'm looking at purchasing this dishwasher. Can I stop it after it has started if I have an extra item to pop in, or need to get something out? Or do I have to wait until it completes the cycle?

Chris
Chris

Just open the door and put more in or take something out and reclose the door. It takes about 20 seconds after closing the door to continue the cycle.

We have just installed a new series 6 smp66mx01a dishwasher and are having trouble with the progamming of indicators (the manuel is quite difficult to follow). The main issue is that there is no display in the '8' box on the machine when the cycle is running. so... nothing that indicates time left etc... what's wrong

Hi. We installed our new dishwasher yesterday. I have a query about 'rinse aid'. The 'One Hour' wash lasts one hour but the '29 Minute' wash lasts 44 minutes. It is always 29 minutes plus 15 minutes for rinse aid. I have turned off the 'refill the rinse aid light' and that does not help. Are all these dishwashers like this or is there something wrong with mine? Thanks.

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Mary B. Thank you for your question. Rinse aid is required for the quick wash to operate within 29 minutes. If it is not used the dishwasher will recognise that a tablet is being used without rinse aid and the program duration will change to 44 minutes. This is because a tablet will not fully dissolve within 29 minutes, and so it would result in sub-optimal wash results. The rinse aid component requires more time to dissolve, hence if rinse aid liquid is used the dishwasher will use this instead and pump out the water containing the undissolved rinse aid tablet particles. If would like to speak with someone about this, please feel free to call our team on 1300 369 744 (select option 2), and we'll be happy to discuss the matter further with you. Kind regards Bosch Home Australia.

I did as you suggested but the Rinse Aid just seems to pour out the other side of the compartment. What am I not doing correctly? Mary B.

Sandra N.
Sandra N.

So will the dishwasher recognise that you are using a dishwasher pouch which includes rinse aid? Think not, it still goes for the 44 minutes and not the 29 minutes as a short wash.

HI I purchased a Bosch SMP66MX03A DARK STAINLESS STEEL BUILT UNDER DISHWASHER about a month ago, it runs beautifully and quiet, washes and dries very well, but the only thing that annoys me to the hilt is the fact I don't know where the time remaining display is shown. All I can see is a re dot but no time visible anywhere. The specs say there is an info light and time remains display. From what I understand if the red light is supposed to tell you its running, where is the time remaining displayed??? The top panel is hidden so it would be nonsensical to say the least if it is shown there. On the other machines there a white light with time remaining shown on the floor. I haven't checked if this is what I have missed, but have noticed it either. Can someone please clarify as the specs indicate there is a display.

Sandra N.
Sandra N.

Update on my review. The sales person said it was supposed to have a time remaining display, but made a mistake, it doesn't. The red light tells you the machine is in operation. When its off then the program is finished, otherwise you need to open the machine to find out how long till the end of the program, not ideal. The look of the dishwasher is great, some great features, cutlery tray at the top if you don't want to use the basket, but also some features lacking, like a Wash & Hold setting. I use the intensive wash and auto wash programs mainly but still find they don't always wash well for stuck on or dried food spots. Most things come out clean, but I am finding that I am returning some items back for a second wash. You need to remove any solids on cutlery when using the tray or else your cutlery won't clean well. Not everything dries well, mainly plastics and the insides of pots. Glass and cups stack well on the left side middle basket but tip over easily on the right side, the shelf is short so I end up wasting space trying to fit things in properly. The machine has functions which you can program to operate differently and the wash cycles are very quiet. The models above this one I think would be far better. I am disappointed I chose & bought this model based on the lovely exterior design. A difficult decision when we were all isolated because of covid and shops were only taking online orders. Now I'm stuck with a dishwasher that I'm not 100% happy with.

Is it possible to have the time remaining display when the machine is running, and not just when the door is open?

Annoying to have to open the door and interrupt the wash cycle to see when it’s going to finish.

This model doesn’t have TimeLight, only that red dot to show it’s on...

Unfortunately not, poor design flaw. The write up gives you the impression that there's a time remaining display visible. Yep only the red light, have had the machine spray water up in my face when I have checked for remaining time. I'm with you, disappointed.

I am very happy with the dishwasher except that it did not come with a kickplate. The item was a display unit at David Jones, and I thought it was complete. Is this something I need to purchase separately?

David B
David B · Serie 6 SMP66MX02A

Looking at SMU66MS02A and SMP66MX01A. Although Bosch Spec Sheets state both have same Wash Programs and Options some supplier websites state SMP66MX01A has a Rinse Mode which the other doesn't. Is that correct? Also, is either or both delivered with a Kick Panel? And if so what is height of the standard Kick Panel?

Corey T.
Corey T.

Hi David. I’m not to sure about the cycles on the dishwashers as neither of these are the one I own. I know that they come with the kick panel when they are built in which both these units are. The unit washes and dries amazingly but their rack system could do with tweaking as far as cup rack levels are to narrow And unless you have really flat plates you can only use every second plate space on the lower rack at the back. Hasn’t really been that much of an issue for us,

Hi. Have a new Dishwasher. All good with the install and operation. I have an installation with the legs at the maximum. The stainless kick board plate is too short/ small to be flush with the floor.
