Awkward to use - I just want to cook. So many poor design decisions and corner cuts – Very frustrating oven. I swear at it still every week at least once. - Oven stops when door open, including grilling, where decent cooks cook by smell. No door ajar for extremely low temperature dough proofing. Keep it heating! - Dial is shocking. So slow to change temperature or time. Need to just about wear rubber gloves to get enough finger… Read more

friction to spin it. - UX terrible. I've never in 40 years of cooking I've never come back to an oven to find it wasn't started, or to find it still on hours after. The rotating led display showing it's cooking can't be easily seen if oven is underbench mounted. - Probe only goes up to 99°C - meat isn't the only thing probes are good for. Who designed this, a wolf? -Nagging to empty water container after steaming, which is still 3/4 full. Just live with it. Plastic degrades quicker when it's dry. - Boot up time - I just want to put something in and start it cooking, not try to use a poorly designed menu with a poorly designed dial.

Only lemon I've bought, ever. The cooktop is also poorly designed, but not lemon class like this.

Bosch HRG6769B2A Steam Oven – Before buying this Bosch HRG6769B2A steam oven I owned an identical Siemens product and had no issues. Bosch needs to replace or repair this product fully, as the faulty touchscreen is clearly an OEM factory fault. For a premium brand costing a premium price, Bosch should have recalled these products. It let us down over Christmas.

The touch screen is always broken – Oh wow. What a lemon. We thought we had bought the best. Functionally, I’d say the oven cooks well. I like the pyrolytic cleaning function. Until the touch screen stops working and then you cannot use the oven at all, even though the oven itself is perfectly fine! It happened the first time about a month out of warranty. So we called Bosch (I… Read more

had to phone them, cannot arrange this conveniently via a web form, apparently). The guy I spoke to implied that because it was out of warranty at 2 years we should be paying to have this fault fixed but Bosch would **very generously** send someone out at no cost. Right.

I wonder- after looking at how we are to provide evidence here- if they insist on phone calls so there’s no email trail detailing the issues that customers have, giving them plausible deniability? Just as an aside for Bosch to note: emails are an essential part of modern customer service. Forcing people to phone during business hours is **not good customer service**.

Anyway, six months later, the touch screen stopped working again! We have since been using the oven without being able to utilise certain functions due to the touch screen having partial functionality, but what a pain in the … Who knows when it will just stop working altogether again?

We will probably just bite the bullet and pay for a new oven rather than having to deal with this again and again. Extremely annoying as we’d installed a Bosch built-in microwave/oven to match it and it looked great (it works fine- no touchscreen) . Suffice to say I doubt we will be replacing it with a Bosch. Bosch is no longer a byword for quality- and paying a premium price is guarantee you'll get it, either.

Touchscreen failure – Purchased Series 8 oven and induction cooktop 2018. Cooktop was repaired under warranty 7 months after purchase. Oven has finally failed after 5 years, with the touchscreen no longer working for some buttons. A quick search will show that these parts are no longer manufactured, so aren't obtainable. Great when it worked, but not built to last. These are still being sold - caveat emptor Show details

Touch Panel partially not working - model HNG6764B6 – We bought the series 8 BOSCH HNG6764B6 June 2019. Great device, with steam and build in Microwave. We had issues with the rotary selector, but could fix this by myself with just removing the metal ring and cleaning it from the insight. However, recently the top left touch screen button (4D Hotair) stopped working. Also, the 2nd touch button (Top… Read more

/ bottom heating) only works if you press really hard. I need to use the home connect app now to get it working. How can this be fixed? Given that's a series 8 / most expensive Oven from Bosch, I'm disappointed this doesn't work anymore after that short period of time using it.

Update 2022-07-20: Called Bosch service. They came onsite 3 days after and re-calibrated the display. All working again and free of charge. They were really friendly / helpful and I'm positively surprised. Changing by rating accordingly. After sales support is important!

Oven is great in features and has worked well but now the touch panel has failed – I love the oven and it does everything it’s meant to and very easy to use. It now the left hand touch panel has failed and won’t respond. I have noticed other have had this issue and was wondering if this is something that happens all the time. On the features. The steam and meat probe feature are fantastic. But now the screen isn’t working I can even invoke the steam or assist programs. Show details

Broke after 2 uses - months later still not fixed – I couldn't tell you if the oven is good or not. It broke after 2 uses. Been broken since 4 weeks and it is taking Bosch another 5 weeks for a technician to attend again (after the technician came only after contacting Bosch 2 times and then having to constantly follow up). So I am now with a top dollar oven which I used twice and can't use for… Read more

nearly 2 months. And god know if the next technician visit is actually going to fix it or not.

Bosch is a good brand (typically) but this is just poor form.

Very Disappointing for Top Dollar brand – We purchased this oven under 2 years ago, and the touch screen stopped working within the warranty period. It took Bosch a week and a half to respond to us, then when the technician who was meant to do the inspection was ill, it took another week and a half for the second one to come out. The part required was not in Australia, and needed to come… Read more

from Germany. They organised for a local dealer who had one of the ovens in stock to do a replacement, but the dealer had sold the oven that day. We are now 5 weeks without our oven. We have all Bosch appliances in our house, and paid top dollar for them because we preferred Quality over cheap. It seems that there is no point in paying the extra for an oven like this, because the extra you are paying for customer service is wasted. We really liked the oven when it was working. We like it far less so now.
