If you have a Bosch WAN24124AU that is failing to spin clothes to speed on the final spin, or that suddenly goes from 7 mins to 1 min during that final spin leaving the clothes wet with no error code at all IT MAY NOT BE YOUR FAULT. Searching online would suggest a loading issue, too heavy; too light the mix is not right, out of balance, filter,… Read more
pump, drain hose etc and that may be the case. However our fault was exactly this and was intermittent for months leaving me more than frustrated. After reading Deb's post here online I finally contacted Bosch (online) and with only a simple 70 character limit available for the fault description they sent out a tech with a new motor control board, there was no initial visit to investigate the fault. In this instance the warranty response by Bosch was excellent however I could argue that it would also suggest that they already know that this motor control board has a failure rate. Ours was close to the 2 year warranty expiry and the fault appears fixed but we’ll see how it goes. Unfortunately we purchased the same unit for my elderly mother and that one is out of warranty.
Top quality washing machine. I have had a very positive experience with it after I began using it 9 months ago. So has my pet kitten Cleo, who decided to crawl into it, as you can see in the video. On a serious note; the washing machine handles all types of material really well at a desired temperature, which is ideal for delicates. The cycle… Read more · 1
times are shorter and very good too.
What I like about it is that it has no hot water inlet to be connected to, only a cold water inlet. This is because the machine heats the water to your desired temperature. Hugely beneficial to lower your hot water bills and have less of an impact on the environment.
After a period of about 30 years I have just bought my 3rd Bosch Washing Machine. I've kept to the same model or as close as possible as I have been extremely happy. They have all still been in perfect working order when I've sold them to update. I cannot fault this machine, WAN24126AU is the model number. It's both energy and water efficient. I couldn't ask for more for under $800.
Absolutely the worst washing machine. Have had ours for 4 months. Purchased brand new. 1 CYCLE can do 9kj every other cycle can only do small loads. Have been using the large cycle for our washing and it has started to not spin at all!!! It stops half way in a cycle as “ended” and all clothes are drenched. It won’t even complete a spin and drain… Read more
cycle setting. Now things happen, all companies can have a bad batch and I get it BUT I called Bosch as I needed to have a technician to come out and I was told no one services my area (2.5 hours away from Brisbane) and that I would need to find my OWN service technician and get them to come out AND THEN get a quote, SEND it to Bosch WAIT for their APPROVAL and then organise that person to come out AGAIN and PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET and then Bosch would pay me in 28 days. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. Why sell items in places you can’t give the right customer service too? I have had issues with my Samsung fridge in past and they didn’t not have a technician out here BUT THEY handled the whole thing and it was completed in 3 days.. THE WORST CUSTOMER CARE. First and Bosch appliance I have ever purchased and it is the last.
Purchased through Appliances Online December 2024 - great simple experience, they installed and took away their rubbish. The machine worked well until mid May when it began to dance across the laundry floor, not drain and not spin. Even with 4 visits over 34 days from a tech, new spin and drain parts and new motor, the machine was irreparable… Read more
through no fault of ours. Do not buy this machine. Bosch said they would replace then referred me to the online store we purchased it.
This is the worst Bosch product I have ever purchased. I have relied on and trusted Bosch for the longest I can remeber (maybe around 40 years back, specially with cars). If I could give negative 5 stars, I would award it 100 times over. This washing machine was on special in The Good Guys last December 2024. I chose the delivery and installation… Read more
to make sure if there are any problems, I could easily refer to their customer service (they sent a couple of cowboys to deliver and install, not looking professional at all and seemingly wanting to leave in a huff - but that will be another review).
Fast forward to March 2025, about 3 months after purchase, delivery and installation. Machine would come up with a fault code (E30-20, which we couldn't find in the manual), stop midway through a wash, would not drain water, would not spin, and ultimately spliied water like a waterfall just below the detergent compartment. We have inspected the drain hose (no kinks), cleaned the front drain and that little rubber hose, drum cleaned two times in a week (cycle went perfectly without a hitch, draining the water away and indicating no blockage internally and drain pump ok), rinse & spin cycle would go instantly from 10 minutes to 1 minute without draining the water. Finally, it just stopped working altogether (not to mention the last load was ruined).
Frustrating? I cannot find a stronger word that would not qualify as verbal abuse. Absolutely appalled by this Bosch, it totally shot itself on the foot. Even if it was still under warranty, how would a washing machine fail in the first 3 months??? Was just used once or twice weekly. Totally unacceptable. I have researched a lot before buying this, with all the glaring reviews online and praises heaped on it. It should have been marketed and sold as a rubbish bin, because it is where it belongs.
I can’t express my disappointment enough regarding my recent experience with my Bosch front loader as well as Bosch and the handling of a mechanical fault in my front-loader washing machine. The issue involved the washing machine door falling off due to a mechanical fault which I believe existed when I bought it but didn’t think it would end in… Read more
breakage. The fault which was acknowledged by the technician during the repair. However, when I requested a report confirming this, I was informed by Bosch head office that no such acknowledgment had been made. This is completely false , as it suggests either a lack of communication within Bosch or a deliberate attempt to dismiss my concerns in the interests of their brand.
I purchased a Bosch appliance expecting reliability and high-quality service, yet this experience has severely shaken my confidence in both Bosch products and their customer service. Not only did my appliance fail due to a mechanical defect, but I also feel misled by the conflicting information provided by Bosch.
An update to this post is I was talking to a friend today and he said that his washing machine door… Read more
Bosch Series 4 9kg Front Load Washing Machine WAN24126AU - faulty water hose – Purchased a Bosch front load washing machine, a week ago. Less than one day into use, the cold water hose that connects the machine to the water tap, starts leaking after only one wash! Now I have to go through the hassle of getting a replacement hose after only one day of use! Pathetic quality. It's like buying a BMW with run flat tyres! Even… Read more
though Bosch is a German brand, the series 4 is made in Poland. However I don't think that would have mattered where the machine is made, if they make such cheap water connection hoses from cheap plastic! Expected better, experienced worse!
Persil only washing machine! – Short version: This machine only works with Persil. Long version: I couldn't get the washing machine to clean clothes! If the clothes were basically already clean then it was fine but anything like a few splodges of dinner will still be there when you get the item back out. It is actually pretty astounding really. I was convinced it was broken.… Read more
Then I watched it spin, so that wasn't broken. So surely it wasn't heating up the water... nope, we managed to test it as it left the drain pipe and it was heating water. How it can spin, heat the water and return the clothes almost as dirty as when they go in is beyond me! One of my son's shirts had some satay noodle on it. I put it through on a 40 degree cotton wash in a laundry bag with the rest of the washing. It came out with the noodle still on it. I foolishly put it back in with the next lot of washing. Same result. So then I scrapped the noodle off myself and put it through on a 60 degree cotton wash all on it's own. Weirdly enough putting every item of clothing with any dirt on it through it's own wash isn't a great solution!
According to Bosch there is a reason Bosch is always advertised with Persil. It is designed to work with Persil. I told them my son gets eczema and they said we should use Persil sensitive. I tried using Persil sensitive for 3 weeks. The machine did wash better but my son's eczema got so bad it started weeping. I stopped using the Persil sensitive and, when I had managed to rewash all of his high contact items, it stopped getting worse and started healing. So we can't use Persil sensitive. I was also told by Bosch that if I wasn't going to use Persil then they had had some luck using the cotton wash with the prewash option. I tried it. It takes forever and doesn't clean very well but it's almost ok. The problem is I bought a machine that was supposed to have lots of wash cycles and, as I can't use Persil, I can only use it for 1 option and I have to use the prewash option with it. The one option I can use takes ages, doesn't do a great job and uses double the detergent.
Before you blame my detergent it worked just fine in our Samsung and works great in our approx 9 year old Bosch that I've gone back to using! We only bought a new washing machine as we were worried it might not last much longer. I'm so grateful we've still got it!
We had a technician out and apparently nothing is wrong with the machine.
Other things to note: Active Water Plus technology doesn't just reduce the amount of water - it changes the cycle time. So if your load isn't full enough it shortens the cycles. You are then left with 2 options: Don't put much laundry in and it shortens the cycle so it doesn't clean or option 2 put heaps of washing in, so it can't agitate much and doesn't clean. It might be a novel idea but just sometimes the person putting the washing in might have an idea of how dirty it is and how long a cycle it might need to get clean but there isn't an option to tell the machine to just wash a full cycle. By the way our washing isn't usually even very dirty - often a few bits of dinner down a shirt is the worst of it!
Sometimes it doesn't start. The manual says it can be a balancing issue so I'd re-arrange the washing and start it again. It didn't seem to make any difference, I had just as much luck simply pressing start again. Bosch help said it could be a balancing issue. Then it happened on a drum clean with no washing in it at all. I wrote to Bosch who agreed I need to turn the dial slowly and told me how to change the basic settings! I presume that's so it can beep at me quieter! At this point I had had well more than enough and unplugged the machine. Needless to say I have been very disappointed with NZ Bosch help, or more accurately, lack thereof.
On a plus note it seems pretty quiet and it looks nice but if you're looking for a washing machine that actually washes clothes then this just isn't it.
Buyer Beware – Purchased the WAN24124AU Bosch washing machine in March this year from appliances on line.Purchased a Bosch brand as our last one was fantastic and lasted for over 15 years. Please don’t ever purchase this model unless you want to end up with anxiety every time you put a load of washing on it sometimes spins and other times you end up with… Read more
saturated cloths at the end of a cycle with no rhyme nor reason and then you put it in a spin cycle and it still doesn’t spin them out properly . I have had the technical team out and they can’t work out what is wrong it is why it spins sometimes and not others it seems to hate an unbalanced load so you are constantly trying to mix the washing in shapes and sizes to get it balanced to spin . This machine is meant to wash an 8 kg load but it doesn’t seem to manage it . I would recommend if you want to maintain your sanity that you stay clear if this machine it is a Lemon!!!!
Compact 8kg machine has drawbacks – We needed a compact front loader after our 7kg LG machine died after 10 good years. This Bosch 8kg machine is actually smaller than our old one which was fine for fitting under our bench top. However, the capacity is smaller and only four of the 12 wash programs allows you to put in 8kg of washing. Most of the programs are limited to 4, 5 or 2kg.… Read more
The main 8kg program takes around 2.5 hours unless you use the Speed Perfect Option to reduce the time to one hour. However, if you do that, you are limited to only 5kg of washing. The Cotton Eco program takes 4 hours(!!) and you can’t reduce the time using Speed Perfect. On the positive side, the machine in wash mode is very quiet (spin less so but bearable) and the user manual is easy to use.
Off to a bad start – We had to replace our last Bosch and decided to stick with the brand as it didn't have plastic bits on the drum and door seal that break, as other brands we reviewed on this site. It is quiet but the keypad controls are a bit harder to find compared to our previous model. Unfortunately, the first wash did not impress. The door design has changed and traps some small items as seen in the photo. This never happen in our previous 2 Bosch washers. Show details
