I have been given this model Bosch dishwasher which was no longer required by the owner due to kitchen upgrade Reno. It was said to be working up to the time of removal. Everything regarding hoses and power cord & supply switch have been connected and checked several times. There’s no ‘light’ showing on the control panel nor will the door open. Is there some sort of reset procedure to get it operational?

Hi, our machine has no power at all when you press on switch? Power point is fine, turns on other appliances. And I have attempted to locate the thermal fuse does anyone know where it is located on these machines as it was working fine and then just stopped and I have a feeling it could be the fuse thanks Julian

We had the power board go in ours. Cost a bloody fortune to replace as we are rural and they've got to come and quote, go and order the part and come back and install. Two lots of labour and the part. May as well of bought a new one.

Power board gone, part $432 so even DIY is expensive. New Aldi selling tomorrow same star rating as Bosch on choice magazine, $380 new, only comes on once a year-luckily its tomorrow.

Hi Bev, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch SMU68M05AU. There is a hose attached to the back of the appliance that you connect to a tap in your kitchen. In the cavity itself there are multiple points of entry on the back wall that go through the two spray arms. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. I have a bosch dishwasher and it keeps coming up with error 25. Some times it won't start. On a 29 min cycle, I've tilted the dishwasher at about a 35-45 degree angle and then the dishwasher starts, but when there is 14mins left it comes up with the error 25. I pulled the pipes apart and cleaned them. Replaced the drain pump, checked for blockages near the pump and its all clear. I feel like its a sensor issue, but I don't know what it is?

Wish I could help. Similar issues, just pulled it out and replaced it with another brand. I also sealed both the drain pump and the heater/pump circulating pump still the same problem water leaking somewhere. Probably a common fault?

Similar to a few others here, my 4 year old Bosch dishwasher is switching off after a few minutes, and wont switch on again. If left for awhile, eventually I can switch it on again but it soon stops again? Can anyone please tell me what needed to be repaired/replaced to fix it?

SMU68M05AU - Has anybody else had the issue where the machine runs for 30 seconds to 3 minutes, then loses power? If you turn off the power at the wall for a minute or so, the machine will start again, remember where it was on the wash cycle and continue for another 30 seconds to 3 minutes before losing power again? If so, what was the fix? The machine had not been used for 3 weeks while we were on holidays, and then died on the first cycle on return.

Connie O

I also had a few incidents where it starting leaking and had error message twice, when plumber came machine started fine and continued to run ok. He suggested perhaps something was blocking hose and run it empty a few times on hottest cycle to clear out as much as possible. To be honest not really sure what problem was but suspect water leak was causing my power to switch off as precaution. Plumber did adjust and check all my hoses were attached properly. Best of luck

Hi

I just had my Bosch dishwasher SMU68M05AU/25 repaired with a replacement control board. It is working now but a red light between the check water and rinse aid indicators comes on when the appliance is turned on. This light has never appeared before the repair and the service techs and Bosch are puzzled by what it is as it also doesn't appear in the owner's manual. Can you please shed some light on this? Thanks, Angie

Inal
Inal

Angie, My Bosch ran for about 8 yrs without any issues, but then started to display occasional E15 error codes. I searched Google and Youtube for solutions and found drain pump wouldn't shutdown at end of cycle, indicative of leaking seal and minute amount of water in base below sump, was causing styrofoam disk to float on microswitch triggering anti-flood circuit? I removed bottom kick plate and jiggled this disk which allowed reset and continued operation of dishwasher for months until, increasing occurrences resulted in service callout. Technician changed switch and we ran 2 more cycles, before another fault. 2nd callout advised by tech, a new sump required quote $300, which was ordered. He ran various diagnostic tests and left to return when parts arrived. Machine wouldn't start after 2nd visit but we expected followup within week. 3rd visit to fit new sump and disclosure that machine hadn't run since 2nd callout and further testing revealed Siemens main board failure and further $300 part needed. At this point we got cold feet given cost of parts and age of dishwasher and asked for replacement recommendations.

Tech advised Beko due to price and warranty periods. He claimed most appliances today were throwaway after a couple of years due to short warranty and cost of parts to repair. We have replaced with Beko in Mar 2018 and found it to be quieter, quicker, cleans better and plastics dry better due to steam gloss fan assist at end of cycle. The replacement Siemens motherboard may be the cause of your problem. Most of these appliances share similar components from the same parts suppliers across brands including Beko, Bosch, Siemens, sometimes the same board fits multiple machines.

I have a Bosch SMS68M02 AU/50 Dishwasher which has worked perfectly ever since it was installed in May 2013 however, it now displays Error 14 and Check Water. I have checked the Water Supply Inlet Valve, the Waste Water Pump and the Filters and they all appear to be in good condition. What is Error 14 and what should I do next?

ClassicOldie
ClassicOldie

You need to get a SERVICE tech out. We found that our unit - had nothing to do with the error at all. It had to do with the drain pump, not measuring the water levels correctly and therefore assuming that there was a water issue. Once the drain pump/heater was replaced all worked well. Service tech from Bosch know how to diagnose this issue, and will save you a lot of heartache. I was close to throwing my unit away.. but it has been reborn again!

I have a Bosch SMU68M05AU, at warranty +1 year (must be the Bosch half life) and getting the EO 1 message. Seems like a common failing. Is it the heater unit or pump, or are they the same unit?

Rohan
Rohan

Heating elements are built into the main main pump unit. You need to replace both.

ClassicOldie
ClassicOldie

The heat pump is the one unit, which measures the water quantity for the load (dishwashing). If the heat pump fails it then activates the drain pump to exit the water. We found that the technician replaced the heat pump - as a last resort. As he did not seem to have this as the issue. When he decided to change it - all of my issues went away. He then explained to me - that the heat pump - was failing and therefore providing the issue that we had. Get a service tech in - unless you're pretty handy, as the items that need to be replaced as well as access is fiddly and specific tools and ways of access are required- which only an experienced service tech will be able to do within an hour. Hope this helps!

There is life left in the Bosch. Gave the company a call and was assisted by a helpful tech rep. A 'reboot' of the dishwasher has removed the error message. We shall see how it goes, but I can't fault the telephone service received from Bosch (Australia). OP

I am having issues with my dishwasher smu68mo5au/28 fd9011 01347 sn 010110250560013476, e15 error with pump continuously running even if the door is open.Have to switch off the power to turn off, have reset it by tilting the machine but same thing happens again. Service call is $99 plus parts plus labor $20 for 10mins. This service will cost me approx. Over $350.

Q. Is it worthwhile repairing? It's 6 years old

Under australian consumer law if you paid a reasonable money for an item it should last for decent time. If you compare a lg/other brands which are half the price what I paid for and if last for 5 years only you can buy a new one. Bosch name sounds good but the products are getting rubbish, I expected this machine to last for at least 10years for what I paid for??

Ami L

I don’t have an answer I’m sorry but I’m just wondering what you ended up doing with your dishwasher as we are having the same error code and our machine is 5 and a half years old??

Sam

Hi Ami , don't bother fixing it just get a new one.Yeah learn your lesson don't buy Bosch ever again as nothing is made in Germany as it used to be. They use cheap parts and you pay premium price for Brand name. LG is reasonably priced, excellent customer service and last longer than Bosch. Hope this helps and good luck shopping :)

Hi, we have a Bosch SMU68M05AU/51 that is only around 4.5 years old. The washer works and then just switches off and the display is dead. I switch the power off and then back on and then is runs for a few minutes and we have to repeat the process. Any advice as thes was a top dollar purchase and I expected 10 to 15 years from this product.
