On Auto and Turbo modes it cleans hard floor, corners, skirting and textured heavy rug easily and well. On carpet in the Eco mode it's excellent, but… Read more ·  1

in Auto and Turbo modes it seems to require strong pushing(?). Only used it a few times and very pleased with the ergonomics and LIGHTER weight of this little stick vacuum. [ In comparison- the DYSON Gen5 Detect is noticably heavier and I became quite tired using the Dyson just on hard floor. But Dyson power-head was easier to use on carpet.]

In agreement with other reviewers, I found the Bosch light feature to be surprisingly useful! I actually enjoy using this vac (yikes)! Features I like: Lightweight!; Cordfree convenience (as opposed to my marvellous Miele barrel vac, which requires plugging and unplugging in various rooms); Reasonable power; Good on hard floors; Self stand-up rod; Ability to swap batteries while one is charging(actually only had to do so once); the easy detach-by-foot powerhead; the furniture hook; Bagless (no shopping and buying bag$!). The dustbin is simple to clean and the clever filter shouldn't need replacing for many years. I have little Bosch Unltd 7 (2 battery version) in the laundry, hanging on its furniture hook, plugged into a nearby PowerPoint- very easy :) Its tools are kept in a basket inside the laundry cupboard. I'm more impressed than I anticipated with this, my first stick vac, and certainly recommend it. I would definitely buy it again.

Follow-up  · Still loving this Bosch stick vac, especially the convenience and bizarrely, the lights showing dirt really encourage using it, lol. Picks up pet hair easily from hard floor. Takes 2mins to remove the filter and clean, it's a very simple easy process. Haven't had to use the spare battery, as it's only operating for max of 20 mins on auto hard floor and Eco on carpet. Only issue I've noticed is removal of vac head from the rod is a bit firm.

Follow-up  · Even better now that I've used it regularly. Only a bit noisy on Turbo- option, which I hardly use, and would now score 5 stars for noise/quiet

The battery stopped holding charge at about 10 months and I have had the worse experience with Bosch's warranty service. A customer service representative even said to me that if he submitted the request without more evidence that he could lose his… Read more

job, and if I wanted him to lose his job.

The vacuum works well, but the problem is always the batteries and if they make it difficult to make a warranty claim, it's not worth the money. Go with a brand that has better service. You'll end up saving more money.

Follow-up  · After writing this review and making a formal complaint I was contacted by Bosch and told they would replace the battery for me and it was delivered without a problem after I contacted the Good Guys (where I bought the vacuum) and got them to send me a copy of the Tax Invoice as the proof of purchase I had was not sufficient for Bosch. I had the… Read more

I've had this stick vacuum a bit over a year and the internal pipe connecting the container and various heads snapped, unevenly too that makes me think the material making this plastic wasn't consistent. I feel some of the parts in this vacuum are quality, and some are cheapies made in china. I wouldn't pay 500 buks for it again, that's for sure. I no longer have the receipts so I am attaching pictures for verification. Show details

What I love: It’s light, compact and easy to use and store. Super love the elbow that with one press of a button folds the pipe to allow easy access under furniture. Clicks back up in place very simply. Has a foot button to allow the head to easily click off to use the crevice function. Comes with many additional attachments for cleaning… Read more

furniture. Easy to use in the house and the car. It is easy to charge and doesn’t take too long. Buying an additional spare battery might be handy. The length of the stem is really good, I’m tall so I love that it’s not too short. It is sturdy and feels like good quality. There are no belts or parts that need maintenance. Excellent for long hair, pet hair, kid mess like pencil shavings. Hasn’t had any trouble sucking up the odd piece of LEGO. Excellent suction. Low noise.

What I don’t love: the dust canister is small but easily does one room. I just can’t vac the whole house in one go without emptying a few times. The battery gets hot if turbo function is used for longer than a few minutes and then it shuts down. The battery cannot be charged while it is hot. I tend to use it mostly on eco setting on tiles and low pile carpet and rugs. Turbo is good for the carpets, but I have to alternate between turbo and eco to make sure it doesn’t overheat. Overall - better than most vacs I’ve owned (and I’ve owned a few!). I do tend to vacuum more often because it’s so easy to grab and go and so I never really have huge messes to clean. Can be used to vac the room or use as a handheld for cars and smaller mess.

I actually really like the Bosch stick vacs, but they have such problems with the batteries & docks. Our first one - a Series 6 - had the battery and the dock replaced. The Series 7 has had the battery replaced. In both instances, things were fine...for a while. After I've used either of them and put them back on the dock, the solid red light… Read more

comes, or not at all. There are no white charging lights. If I leave it over night, take it out of the dock and put it straight back in, it'll show two bars and start charging the rest. The Series 6 exhibits similarly strange and inconsistent behaviours.

That Bosch replaces the battery & docks (under warranty, of course) without much fuss suggests that they are aware of, or expect, these issues.

I'm now out of warranty on both, and have two slightly functioning vacuums. Rather than send out replacement parts, I would love to be able to take them to Bosch for proper assessment. When Bosch asked me if I thought it was the battery or the dock on the Series 7 I said the battery, but really, how would I know? It could be the dock.

Bosch, if you're reading, can I take them somewhere for testing? I have four batteries and two docks and I have no idea what's faulty.

I've had this for around 5 months now, at first I was very impressed with all its different capabilities, and it appeared to do a solid job, but the suction isn't as strong as the last Bosch vac I had. It's circulating brush head does lift up the carpet pile, which did originally appear like it's being sucked up, but when you take the long arm off… Read more

and use the nozzle to spot clean or dust bust you realise how little its actually sucking. Also what's REALLY frustrating, is when your done and turn the vac off, it drops all the crumbs or larger particles (larger than dust) out of the head of the vac and you have to go and suck it back up with just the nozzle again. If you happen to lift from the floor while the brush is still circulating it will throw these particles all over the room again. I actually want my old model back and wait until they can release a model with these same capabilities with all the wrinkles ironed out. Battery life is ok, but I put that down the the mediocre sucking capability. I got the spare battery but I find it odd you have to plug the vacuume in to charge it, could come with a separate charger. It's slightly heavier than my last stick vac. The cannister is small but this is the least of your worries with this model.

I’m pretty happy with it so far, apart from the battery – For the price, I think it’s an outstanding vacuum, however the battery time is rubbish. 10 minutes is all you get and then it needs to be charged for at least 4 hours. I didn’t bother getting the one with the 2 batteries cause it said it had a 40 minute clean time, yeah right, that’s if you use the lowest setting which is ok, but not great. Normal… Read more

vacuuming needs suction, which lasts 10 minutes. So now I have to pay another $200 for a battery and charger, not an economical decision on my part, especially since 2 days after I bought it, it was discounted $150! No happy Jan. But aside from all that, the power is great, I love the light, I had no idea how dirty and dusty my house was and how useless my Dyson was, actually yes I did know how useless my v12 was, which is why I gave it away. I haven’t experimented too much as yet, just used the vacuum around my house cause it’s use it for 10 minutes, charge it for 4 hours whilst I’m waiting for a battery and charger to get here, so that frustrating cause I have a very big house, but from what I’ve done, couldn’t be happier, except for the bin, it’s tiny, I mean, just vacuuming under my bed filled that up and it’s really fiddly, can’t say I’m a fan of that bit, but the rest makes up for it.

The worst – Honestly the worst stick vac I’ve ever used. Read a review in Choice which prompted me to buy it to replace our old Dyson but it’s just terrible. The canister fills so quickly and I’m forever clearing out the tube. Yes we have carpet and a dog but I’d expected way better for the price. Show details

The Bosch Ultimate 7 stick vacuum cleaner is great – Got tired of lugging the Miele vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs, or out to the car to clean the inside of it. I decided that it was time to get a stick vacuum cleaner, but I wasn't going to pay $1000 or so for a Dyson, seeing as I'm a near geriatric singleton. I consulted my Choice magazines and found a reasonably recent article on stick… Read more

vacuum cleaners. I narrowed my options to two models that seemed to be at a fair price. The Bosch 7 Ultimate and a model from Electrolux. What clinched the decision was that Bosch offer a 10 guarantee on the motor, as well as a two year general guarantee, and was made in Germany, whereas the Electrolux offered just a two year guarantee and was made in China. When it arrived, the packaging was quite compact and all parts arrived in good condition. There was quite a bit of paperwork, but not all of it relative to Australia. There was a care manual for the battery as well as a multilingual owner manual, which was easy to understand. The vacuum cleaner arrived with 7 attachments, a recharge docking station (I haven't decided if I will use it as I don't like putting holes in my VJ timber internal walls), a battery charger and a 3 amp Hour battery. Build quality seems to be good and assembly was quite easy. The unit, with the power head attached wasn't too heavy and that fact that the main tube can be adjusted/ bent / articulated to up to 90 degrees, made getting under furniture a breeze. Having a row of LED lights on the front of the power head, made all the early stage dust bunnies very easy to see and it was a revelation. There are three power settings available (Eco, Turbo and Automatic) and as with most battery powered devices, the higher the power setting used, the shorter the time that the battery will last. I gave it a run on bare timber, vinyl, tiled and slate floors and it was a joy to use. When I tried it on carpet, the power drain was increased and the power head was a bit harder to get moving, but once it was moving, it wasn't too hard to keep it going .I managed to give a clean to four rooms, the kitchen and the bathroom upstairs, the internal staircase, and a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and living room downstairs, which depleted the battery. The battery takes about 5 hours to fully charge. This stick vac will get a lot of work, especially for frequent light cleaning of floors, and the car interior. I've tried some of the attachments, and they worked as expected. I had to remove the filter and empty the dust container, which as Choice pointed out, was a bit messy but it was easy to do and I was surprised at how much was picked up that I usually would not have seen or bothered about. I like it.

Excellent and highly recommend – I am amazed with this cordless vacuum cleaner. The suction is excellent, it lifts the pile on the carpet and refreshes the look of it. Great over polished floor boards too. Even though the canister is small it compacts the debris and is easy to empty. I bought it to use for the 'in-between' vacs but find it's my 'go to' for ease and efficiency. Highly recommend. Show details

Excellent – Excellent. I would rate it better than the Dyson V10. I had the V10 for years and it was a pretty good vacuum. The battery live was bad compared to the Bosch. The suction is excellent, the head works awesome and the break-neck for cleaning under furniture is awesome. Show details
