Never Worked From Day One – This dryer has never worked properly from day one, stops every 5 minutes flashing blocked condenser light. Filter is clean, condensor is clean, both washed with detergent to remove any wax build up as suggested, you restart it and it stops within a few minutes saying blocked condensor again. Have checked pump sump, which is perfectly clean, pump… Read more
operates correctly, no faults there. Bosch NZ have been no help at all, was informed by local supplier that Bosch have discontinued manufacturing condensor dryers, I wonder why? Perhaps too many dissatisfied customers. It must be great to be that big you can ignore your customers and just walk away from a problem.
This a crap dryer – Sheets get tangled because it doesn't reverse when drying and the damn door isn't reversible to change hinge sides.... For how much this dryer is I expected a lot more.... Rubbish... Show details
Beeps and stops constantly – This is an awful dryer. It stops a minimum of 4-5 times every load and beeps to empty the condenser even when spotless. We’ve called repair people out costing $300+ Show details

Perfect dryer, condensing operation means it doesn't need to be plumbed in – This is the only dryer I've ever had which doesn't leave the clothes over dry. Ironing isn't necessary and drying is quick and easy. At the end of a wash simply empty the condenser. Highly recommend my Bosch. Show details
Very good – Its a Bosch, so as usual, we have had no need to service the appliance in the two years since purchase. Annoyances: Heat pump dryer is not as good at sensing clothes dampness as their normal vented model At one point, the dryer stopped pushing water through the drainage hose. Switching back to filling the internal tank solved this (tank must be… Read more
emptied every load). I expect the hose will work again, but feel this system could be more robust. Hose is held on by friction, is flimsy and small in diameter, and I could imagine further problems if we reattached the hose
Much slower than our previous Bosch vented dryer. Expect 2+ hours to dry a large load
The goods:
No venting of heat or lint into laundry
Uses a fraction of the electricity
The goods easily outweigh the irritations. The electricity savings alone justify the higher price.
It is perfect – I love the 10kg size. I can fit a king size doona and pillow cases in it for drying. I'm in love with the condenser dryer as the dryer doesn't need venting. You can have the dryer automatically drain the water out or you can just pull the draw out and empty it. Show details · 1

Disappointed – We purchased this dryer because of the brand & perceived reliability, reputation. Very disappointed, from day 1 it never dried clothes properly. The dryer has not had a lot of use & I am fastidious with cleaning & maintenance. Today when I went to use it, there was a strong electrical smell . Show details

Bosch WTB86200AU - Not surprised its discontinued! – Just at the tail end of a 2 year battle with Bosch to get a refund for this condenser dryer that wouldn't dry clothes. In short, Bosch says its my fault for not cleaning the machine properly (which is untrue). They also say they have not had problems with other customers (clearly also untrue based on the other reviews). I now have to decide… Read more
whether to make a "not fit for purpose" consumer claim in court. I bought the dryer for over $1,000 in 2016 from Appliances Online. It stopped working properly around the 2 year mark. The repairman came and advised that there was a problem with the pump. Because it was a known problem, Bosch covered the pump replacement. Machine worked for a few months and then, like all of the other customers below, it would stop constantly during the drying cycle and have to be restarted. Eventually it stopped drying completely. The repairman came and recommended a full factory clean because the bottom of the dryer (which was inaccessible) was probably clogged with a lint and moisture sludge. The cost of the factory clean would be $660 and I would have to go without the dryer until it was returned. Also, they could not guarantee that it would not clog back up. I decided to just get a $500 basic dryer (which has worked faultlessly) and seek a refund from Bosch. I am interested to hear from anyone wanting to participate in collective action against Bosch for a refund.

Bosch dryer – I am so incredibly disappointed with this dryer, have had other Bosch products that have been fine but this is very frustrating. I was only ever advised by Harvey Norman That I had to clean the lint filter which is totally fine but then I discovered it keeps beeping and there is another filter that gets filled with water. We were advised to check… Read more

So so bad - do not purchase this dryer!! – We have had exactly same problem as all other reviews, Bosch blame us and told us to clean out filter etc, which we do every 10 mins!!! The damn thing stops after 10 mins, and beeps and beeps. Do not bother !! I have lost all faith in Bosch products and their customer service. Show details
Keeps turning off, doesn't dry clothes properly – I bought this dryer after a great experience with a Bosch washing machine, but it feels like this products was made by a different company! I've had it for 3 years now, and it has decided that it will turn off every 10 minutes during a load. This is extremely frustrating and makes it almost unusable. For an expensive product and a premium brand,… Read more

Bosch WTB86200AU constantly turns off – Hi forum, we have the Bosch condenser dryer with the constantly 'turning off' problem. After reading the forums and exploring the web three things became very clear to me, it is a very common problem, cleaning the lint and heat exchanger filters of built up lint made no difference and finally Bosch are not interested in fixing the issue! units have a high energy consumption, 1800 W/hr meaning the units run extremely hot, (if you touch the back of the unit they are very hot). I suspected the dryer was turning off due to TOL, (ie thermal over load). To test this theory I ran the dryer on our kitchen table which was a much colder environment (~10C) and a much larger room than the small space the dryer has in the laundry. Viola, the problem went away! For the first time ever the dryer completed its full cycle.
I suspect these dryers are not suitable for small spaces, the high amount of energy the dryer puts into a confined space heats up that space, resulting in the dryer switching off due to thermal overload. Obviously Bosch will not admit to this as we would all have a claim on them for selling us a dryer that was not fit for purpose and that their instructions do not specify any constraints on where or how the unit should be placed.
Try your dryers in a colder environment, ie garage, kitchen table, outside or whatever ( sounds bizarre I know) and let me know how you get on.
Happy Drying - John..
PS: We plan to run our dryer with the laundry door open in future..

Doesnt dry, switches off. I rang bosch and there was no help – Had the dryer for approximately 2 years. It has never worked and switches itself off and leaves clothes wet. I rang Bosch as per the other reviews. I was told that it was maybe the size of loads, but i explained it doesn't work regardless. They told me to call back later in the day to book a technician at a cost of $200, even though it is evident from reviews that this is a product fault. Poor product and very poor service. Very frustrating dryer!!! – It takes 3 days to dry anything! It constantly turns itself off even when the filter is clean. We've had it serviced. Apparently it’s a software issue. Worst dryer ever!

Doesn’t dry, constantly stops and needs filter cleaned – We purchased this dryer in December 2016. It worked fine for the first 12 months and since then has been an absolute pain. It doesn’t dry clothes (I’ve been told that ‘cupboard dry’ should be damp to the touch so they finish drying in the cupboard - seriously?!), and every single program stops at least once and requires you to fiddle with the… Read more

Won’t dry. As simple as that – Whatever the drying programme selected, the machine (brand new) switches off after 5-10 minutes. Our doona cover still isn’t dry after multiple restarts over 4 hours. Hot sided dryer – I've been told it is normal for the sides of the dryer to become almost too hot to touch. Is this normal? I was also told the that the unpleasant "hot machine" smell was due to overuse of soap in the wash causing a chemical smell when placed in the dryer. Could be the cause, but I don't think so. The clothes, towels etc get almost dry by the end… Read more

100% Cotton sheets bundle up during drying cycle – Model WTB 86200AU/A8. Discovered after several months of use that 100% cotton sheets bundle up. Good dryer, but has a flaw – Definitely a step up from vented dryers. It dries all kinds of fabrics really well, less creases, no shrinking, and cleaning is quick and easy. However, it has a major design flaw. Twice already a zipper was stuck in the small gap just behind the door. Lucky I noticed the strange noise and was able to pull it off before the zipper broke and… Read more
fell inside the drum.
First time it happened I thought it just a coincidence, but it happened again and zipper was stuck in the same place. Such a shame because I was very happy with this dryer until that happened.
Expensive Piece of Junk – Buyer beware!!! The dryer is poorly designed and has a pinch point within the machine. Should any debris become loose during the cycle it can and will cause the drum to seize. This in turn comes at a lovely $120 surcharge as the garbage design of this product is not covered by the warranty. Ridiculous that a machine of this calibre is not tested to ensure that nothing can jam. Show details

Disappointed! – Can only use it on Mixed load - seems to be the only one that works well. I try to dry the dog's polar fleece blanket and the dryer insists on turning off after 5 minutes leaving the blanket wet no matter what setting I use. Also the instructions are useless, they only tell you what the settings are and not what to use them for or how. Show details

Worse Dryer we have ever had – We have the Bosch Front Loader washing machine which is fantastic so when the salesman recommended the Bosch dryer I didn't need much convincing. However I hate it. I will be calling the place of purchase and discussing my options under the Australian consumer law as I feel this dryer does not do what it is advertised to do.
When I previously contacted bosch the first time they were absolutely no help and let a loyal customer (my old bosch washer is still going after 10 years just too small) take the bill for a ill designed machine told me they'd contact me but never did how's that for customer service what service! Dont purchase this product you will be sadly disapointed when it breaks down this often
So far so excellent! – Our Electrolux condenser dryer stopped working after 4 years of very intense use. We're very happy with our purchase. I hope we don't hit the few problems others have had with this model (which is why we didn't go with this in the first instance).
Only five months only and now needs a technician – I am so disappointed with this dryer. I've had problems with heat exchanger light coming on constantly almost since I have had it. the setup being correct. It's a shame, I have a Bosch washer and and had a previous Bosch tumble dryer and never had a problem with them, I find myself always fussing with this dryer. I have now had to book a technician to come out. I did a lot of research before I bought this dryer and my Fiance is fuming it is such a terrible dryer, he's so sick of it he wants to purchase a different brand. Beware, I think it might be similar to the some jelly junk in the belly I can't get to, which is surely a design fault. I hope it's not that or I'm sure I will be charged the service fee on Thursday! Very disappointed and sadly the bad reviews I had read are true.

Best appliance I have bought hands down – Perfect dryer easy setup very easy to use. I love the child lock button, use it everytime. Dry clothes fast and is very good to maintain. Could be a good dryer - but has a design flaw that will stop your dryer working – We've got the dryer for a bit more than a year. It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago and I was happy with it. But then, in the middle of drying the dryer stopped and the condensator indicator light kept flashing. Note that we are not using the container, but have a hose connected that goes directly to a sink. I cleaned all obvious for users… Read more
servicable bits and it started up again, however, the dryer stopped again with the same issue. I came across a page where users discuss similar issues with those Bosch dryers: http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/bosch-condenser-dryer-clean-container-issues.248668/page-3 and it turns out that I have had the same issue: there is a "hidden" flap when removing the heat exchanger which contains a small storage space underneath. In my and other customers case this filled up with a kind of gunk and jelly. This flap is not easy to remove, but after cleaning out the jelly and gunk my dryer is working again.
I have sent Bosch customer service an email last week to get this sorted and waiting for a response since then. I had no choice than to clean out that stuff myself as I need the dryer.
In my opinion this is a clear design fault as this will surely fill with gunk/jelly again, possibly when the warranty has been expired (in my case) and this is not a clear defined customer servicable part.
What a shame, I had a Bosch dryer (WTL5500) for nearly 20 years and never had an issue, regretting now that I got rid of it (did it because power usage was higher).

Great Dryer, stylish too! – I bought this dryer just over a year ago to match the Bosch Avantixx washing machine I purchased at the same time. it if it had a "forward and reverse drum action" ideally, as sheets end up in a tight ball and unevenly dried. However machines that have this option cost a fortune when I did my research, so am happy to go without it for the price. There are different programs, aswell as a 20 min cycle that can be used on either a warm or cold setting.I love the "blue drum light" at the start of the cycle and the alarm at the end is useful too. I have used it almost daily in the winter. Overall I would recommend the machine.
LOVE love love this drier! Fluffy clothes – It is quite different from other driers and that's what I love about it. Clothes from the Bosch Avantixx washing machine are quite "well rung" when they go into the Bosch Avantixx drier. It drys the clothes and then pumps hot wet air through. I normally take the clothes and leave "fluffed" on the couch for an hour. RESULT - dry, fluffy clothes… Read more · 1
