Frustrated – Got the washer dryer combo. Do the 15 min wash in auto 1 which rolls over to drying mode. Washes the clothes and turns over to dryer but stops after about 5-10 mins. Tried the dryer on normal dry mode and does the same thing. Show details
Best. Purchase. Ever – We bought it to wash our newborn clothes and it was magical in winter, the auto wash/dryer cycle gave us that much needed sleep and clean and dry clothes in the morning! 4 years on and it's still working like a clock, fantastic and reliable machine. Show details · 1
Convenient, but unreliable and poor service/warranty – I bought this washer/dryer combo about 4 years ago. When it worked it was great. The cycles take a while and the dryer (compressor) is not like an air dryer but we could get used to that, so this was a good solution for our small apartment. But as soon as the warranty expired the machine became very unreliable. Sometimes the door wouldn't lock -… Read more
we had a technician out but he couldn't solve the problem so we had to live with that intermittently. Then the washer wouldn't pump water in so another technician came out to replace the inlet hose. But that didn't solve the problem. He ran all tests and pulled the machine completely apart but couldn't find the problem and gave up! Now we have a $1600 85KG paperweight in our apartment and Bosch won't even dispose of their junk. I won't buy Bosch again. They should back their products with a 5 year warranty if they really believe in them.
The Bosch washes well it’s the drying cycle which I’m not happy with – The intensive dry cycle is way to long 2hrs 30mins on changing it for a shorter dry it will only do 15mins that is not enough time can this drying time be increased if so how.? I am semi disabled and thought a combi wash dryer would be just the thing but the drying isn’t to my satisfaction Show details

Poor Quality – It is still under Warranty and there is a water leak. When I called them up they were worried if the claim is covered in warranty or not. They do not realize that if parts do not last under the warranty they should be covered. They hire other agencies to do their warranty repairs and have no concerns about how much it is going to cost their customers. Poor services after purchase is what puts them down. Show details

Good one – Love the 15mins fast clean great for the kitchen towel or some small items u have to clean often. Save the space in my tiny laundry room and it's very quiet. It has been one year I using this combo washer and no problem at all. But u will not able to wash and dry at the same time anymore because u only have one machine so u have to wait… Read more · 1
until drying finished. Lol
The only down side is, u have to take out the clothes asap after finished the drying process except if u only have a very small amount of load. The drying function will not be the exact result of a normal dryer.
You will feel the clothes are moisty after drying process especially the bath towel but it's still acceptable for me.
Life saver! – This machine is a life saver with a baby! With everyday washing in winter we're in heaven - load for a quick 1.2hrs wash and dry, close the door - and do whatever you want, and then open the door and get your perfectly washed dry clothes! Priceless! Washes really well in our hard water with not much washing liquid. Quiet. Love the reminder beep to… Read more · 1
unload the machine. Overall is just great and hopefully works for 20 years as other Bosch machines our family had over the years:)
Horrible dryer experience – I have had nothing but trouble with the drying component of this appliance. I have had Bosch and out and once the standard warranty was finished, the extended warranty repairers out three times. I have been blamed and given conflicting information on every occasion but still no resolution. Very unhappy. Would not recommend this product and will not buying a combo or a Bosch product again. Leaks – Had this machine combo for 2 years now and have given up using it. The instruction book is just crap, hard to get your head around it. The dryer leaves clothes damp and for some reason lately wont spin all water out still quite wet. Will never buy Bosch again, your reputation is sliding. Show details

Love this machine! – Not my first front loader but my first washer/dryer combo. I love the timer so I put my washing on at night to come on and be finished just before I wake up. The less ironing feature is also excellent. I hate the dryer however. It takes forever to dry the clothes and they come out so wrinkled! I much prefer my old fashioned dryer where clothes… Read more · 1
came out and didn't need ironing! I do love the refresh feature on the dryer though for a quick clean of the kids uniforms throughout the week. I noticed the dryer is extremely hot too. There is no way to just put the clothes in for a quick ten minute dry if they are only damp. There is only 2 or 2.5 hour drying cycles.
Everything we wanted – Had this machine for two months now and no problems so far I did find the instructions a little confusing but with some online help got things sorted. Great clean, sooo quiet, heap of cycles to choose from and two machines in one. Just right for our new small laundry. I have no regrets with this machine so far. Show details · 1
Great machine! – Had this washer/dryer for 5 months now and so far it is fantastic! Very, very quiet, washes well and has the 15 min quick wash, which I loved in our old Bosch (9 years and was still going strong, only updated as we moved and we have the tiniest laundry ever!). Use the 60 min wash and dry cycle the most and it's brilliant. I love fast washes not a… Read more · 1
fan of waiting for hours for washing to be done! (15 min wash and then automatically goes on to dry for 45 mins.) Probably won't use dryer that much but love that it is there and it does dry well though slightly damp when door is first opened, this goes away pretty quickly.
Also love, love that there is no hot air pumping into my small laundry!
Overall, very pleased with this purchase and would recommend!
July 25th 2017 Update: An update
I know this has now been replaced with a newer version but I thought I would give an update as to how great this Bosch washer/dryer is. I have tried out different washing cycles and they are all great. I use the dryer constantly and it's awesome! Can quick dry from 30mins, 15mins dry then 15mins cool down (the booket is confusing, as I've read others saying you can only dry for 2hrs +, not so) Can crinkle the clothes a bit but if you remove as soon as cycle is done it's not a problem. Towels are soft and fluffy! This machine after a year is still so quiet and is working perfectly, I would heartily recommend Bosch.
Great features, bad quality, average service – Hello, We currently own a Bosch WVH28441AU. We had the first problem with that machine just a few month after we bought it and it took 2 weeks to get it sorted with no apologies for the massive inconvenience of not having a usable washing machine. (Poor service, both from Bosch and from the service company!) So, now we have another problem… Read more
with the machine. It is just out of standard warranty as it is now 2.5 years old. Luckily (so we thought) we had purchased extended warranty for another 3 years. The machine now is broken (error code E23 which indicates a leak) and apparently unrepairable as the spare part does not exist anymore according to TheGoodGuys. Now they have offered us to get a new machine. We are looking at the newer model (WVH28490AU) of the same Bosch Series 6 as generally we like the machine for the great features and quite motor and good energy/water ratings. I'm wondering if the quality / leaking problem has been fixed in this newer version.
The bad: Unfortunately we were told we would have to pay an additional AUD200 for the "upgrade" despite us having extended warranty (which they cannot meet!!). The last word here is not spoken yet regarding the price tag, but I would like to know what the difference is compared to the older model. Did this problem (leaking) get fixed. I read lots of complaints online about leaking. Bosch is loosing its reputation for good quality machines and good service. Does anybody have any information about the model differences? Any other advise?
Thanks!
Ralf
Update: We received a replacement machine of same type (latest model) and are very happy with it (Still - after more than 1 year)! Thanks!

Terrible post sales warranty after leak – After 5 months of using this machine, it developed a leak underneath. The aqua stop feature failed as the machine carried on washing while seeping water. I have a under kitchen bench-top setup where the water leaked out and damaged the cabinetry. This happened on a Sunday. I rang Bosch on Monday. Was advised a tech would come out on a… Read more
Wednesday. I took Wednesday off work and waited all day. No one turned up. I rang back to check, and was advised it was the following Wednesday. So I took the following Wednesday off too, and the tech finally turned up. After a 20 min visit, he could not find a fault. He advised I take it up with warranty and have the machine replaced since I could not trust it. Luckily I had taken pictures of the leak.
I have not heard back from them after numerous calls and emails. Every time I followed up it seemed to be a different story and my ticket number did not contain my emails, pictures, and call logs. I was advised that I was going to receive a call first thing this morning. I did not. I have been advised that they can send another tech out (another 10 days wait). Now it seems I am going in circles with Bosch. Their last comment was "well, what do you want us to do about it?" I asked to speak to a manager, and was advised he is too busy and will ring me back. Still waiting!
I have a family where we need to use this machine daily. I am forced to use a laundromat just to get by. This is unacceptable as I paid a premium price for a German appliance Made in China.
So here I am with a washing machine that I have not been able to use in the last 12 days as well as damages to my kitchen. It seems now I need to go through legal avenue to get a refund.
I suggest you stay away from Bosch. They are not what they used to be. I should have bought a Miele.
Update 28/11/2016:
After dealing with the retailer and Bosch; Bosch has decided to replace my machine with a newer model (wvh28490au). It was delivered last week and the old unit was taken away.
Unfortunately they were not able to fault as to why this model leaked. I will give it about a year before I write a review for the replacement model.
From 2 seperate machines to 1 – I'm wrapped with this machine so far. Having switched from the old tumble dryer to this, I was concerned that the clothes wouldn't be dry enough. That is not the case. Bosch have a new model out and are discontinuing this one, the new one is fairly similar to this model, so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the new model if this model was no longer… Read more · 1
available.. It's quiet! Uses no water during dry cycle. I'm loving not having condensation all over the laundry in comparison to using the old tumble dryer. It's energy efficient. If you are thinking about getting a combo, I highly recommend Bosch, it's not easy to find a negative review for the combo, unlike others there are plenty.
Mildew in rubber seal ruins great machine – I had no issue with this great machine BUT discovered that some water gets trapped in the fold of the rubber door sill after a cycle and has caused it to mildew. I now need to wipe water out each time I use it. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere. Show details
Brilliant!! – Very quiet. Can washing a large amount of clothes. I am a short person 5'2 I need a step to stand on to get socks from bottom of tub but...I can live with that. Favorite feature would have to be...The size of the wash and...it weighs the load to save water. Brilliant!! I would give Bosch 10/10 for this machine!! Show details · 1
Amazing quality and convenience! – I loved the idea of a washer / drier combo but had heard lackluster reviews from people. I researched and read a dozens of reviews and the Bosch seemed to rate very well. Bit the bullet and bought one and am over the moon! It's sleek, has a real "quality" feel to it (solid and sturdy not plastic and flimsy like others I looked at), has a good… Read more · 1
variety of functions (most of which I'll likely never need to use), is very quiet (I went to check on it a few times worried it wasn't working, only to find it humming a purring along beautifully), and it cleaned and dried my laundry PERFECTLY. I thought I might have overloaded it for the wash/dry function, putting in a fleece blanket, a bath towel, three thick men's hoodies and some pillow cases. However it washed everything so well (better than my much more expensive Asko frontloader ever did), and it all came out fluffy and warm and dry.
If you've never used a washer/drier combo, this will feel like magic. Throw your laundry in, come home and it's clean and dry (and probably also wrinkle-free for many items). The only risk here is you won't ever be able to go back to separate units once you've been spoilt with this one. It makes you feel like you are in some futuristic era where people will wonder what clotheslines were for, or laugh at having to take your clothes out of one machine and put it in a other huge space-taker.
The instruction manual isn't great, but only took me a few minutes to find the wash/dry option I wanted which is probably the main one I'll always use. I plan on treating it like a 4kg so I can wash and dry all loads in one go, but it's great to know I have the capacity to wash 7kg if I have the occasional big item like a bedspread.
If you've been undecided about combo machines being too good to be true, go the Bosch. Absolute quality and works better than I ever hoped. This morning I spilt my coffee on my blanket, when I walked in the door from a cold and rainy lunch date I was able to wrap myself up
in the same blanket, all lovely and clean and fresh and fluffy and warm straight from the combo drier. I couldn't be happier with it.
One note, when I had it delivered the hose didn't fit the tap attachment that the previous Asko frontloader was fitted to and they had to drill some holes (at a small additional charge). Not sure if this is a common occurrence, but I bought it at a good price from a reputable online retailer so still came out in front. Shop around and get the best price.
The machine doesn't use your hot water so you can do as many loads of laundry as you like and not worry about being left with cold showers. It heats its own water, and also cleans itself, so no need to clean the lint filter etc. Doesn't waste water like some other brands that use cold water to cool the drum, so you'll save on water usage too (and the environment!).
Only one negative thing I can say about getting this Bosch combo....... I'm no longer cool. Cos I am tragically telling everyone who'll listen how awesome it is, and am actually excited to put loads of washing on, knowing I won't have additional chores in hanging clothes out to dry, then taking them in again. Just throw it all in, press a button and ...... fall in love with the most beautiful hunk of metal you'll ever own (unless you have a Ferrari. Then equal favourite maybe).
Great machine! – This is my first foray into the world of front loading washing machines & I have to say I am very impressed! I've had this machine for nearly 2 months now & am very happy with it. The cycle I use the most is the Easy Care @ 20* which takes 43mins. The wash is great. The drying has been great & I love it that I can actually choose the time or go… Read more · 1
with the auto settings. When you open it after drying it does smell a bit rubbery but the odour isn't in the clothes so no problem as far as I am concerned. I haven't used the wash & dry cycle together, so can't comment on that. It is very quiet, both washing & drying & not having all the condensation in the air when drying is brilliant!
Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend this machine.
Top of the range BOSCH FRONT LOAD WASHER DRYER – this machine cost over $1300.00 shook so badly we added 200Kg to the base to stop it walking out. yes it was perfectly level. at 10 weeks old the front seal split and cost us $500.00 to have the bosch repair guy fix the front seal. it took him 6 weeks and when it was replaced it leaked seriously badlyand causing an error message and locked the… Read more
door for up to 2 days at a time with our washing inside, as it took 6 weeks to get it fixed last time I didn't want this guy back. now at 1 year and being flooded out daily I had no choice but to call out the same bosch repair guy, he tipped the machine forward to empty water from the machine and clear the code, I mentioned to him that the seal had leaked since he fixed it, I didn't get a response, I phoned a week after he attended to ask for feedback and was told parts are being ordered today. It costs me $40/day to have my washing done last time and if this bastard is going to take 6 weeks to fix the fault then its just cost me another $1200. I'm out of pocket $2900 plus $1300 TOTAL $4200 on this BOSCH crap..... I should have stuck with SIMPSON as it lasts 7 years and costs bugger all. I have a kitchen full of Bosch products... an outrageously expensive BOSCH oven that alarms at night and we cant turn the alarm off because we don't know how. BOSCH may be the worst choice we ever made.... yes we have a house full of it.
Very happy with purchase – I have a tiny studio and needed a washer/drier in one. My partner has an older Miele washer/drier in his house which has been great, although is now really noisy and a new one costs $3,700 with Miele's nasty controlled pricing. I just couldn't justify this for the occasional use this new machine gets at my Studio. Also Miele would not confirm… Read more · 1
the noise levels of their machine. So a couple of months ago I purchased this Bosch from Appliances Online for around $1,900 delivered.
I have been very impressed with its performance so far. It is easily the quietest washing machine I have ever experienced (not just compared to the previously mentioned Miele but also a new Asko I had in my previous home). That said it already seems a little louder than when I first used it. Maybe I am just getting used to its astonishing quietness?
The only downsides: The instruction manual is terrible (it reads as though someone used Google Translate to translate another language into English) with lots of bad grammar, some parts just not making sense, and others giving conflicting advice. Pleasingly the controls on the washing machine are easy to understand and use on the whole; Clothes are not quite as dry at the end of the drying cycle as the Miele. Even using the highest drying setting I wouldn't put towels in a cupboard immediately without airing them for a little while; The machine gives off a lot of heat during the drying cycle ... ventilation is required around it and it wouldn't be suitable for a tight built in installation.
Excellent machine, so easy to use! – I must admit, when I first got this machine I was dubious that it could wash AND dry well. I have been using it for about two months and honestly couldn't live without it. It has a few settings for different types of clothes (cottons, mixed, delicate) as well as a handy 15 minute quick wash function. I have been really impressed with the dryer… Read more · 1
too. I love how I can set a load of washing to wash and dry in the morning and come home to have it all done (I just wish it could fold and put them away - maybe in 50 years' time).
I highly recommend this machine. Clothes, sheets and towels come out perfectly clean each and every time.
Brilliant - Clever and Simple to use - best on the market – We live in a small house so space is a premium. Naturally a washer dryer combo grabbed our attention. I did a lot of research before buying including joining Choice to read a brilliant review on it. We were fortunate enough to use a few brands while we were washing machine-less so got to try a few like Samsung, LG and some other brands (4 months… Read more · 3
without one as well as using my mum who insisted on doing it as well as ironing our clothes. Admittedly my wife struggled with it but I had a rubber arm with the flexibility of a KIt Kat so I let mum spoil me? Yeap my mum even ironed my undies and singlet something my wife doesn't do! Hehehe. When mum offered to buy me one I realised I had to act soon before I was back doing the washing machine shuffle!) WELL....We have had it now for 2 months and in short my wife and I love it. My mum is a bit shocked that me Mere Male is actually now washing the clothes, I've even surprised myself hanging out and folding and bringing them ini! No I haven't got to ironing but I don't have to with this machine.... this machine has a clever way to over come it. Got to love the ingenuity of Germans, I love their work :) We are a family of four and use it a lot. It is super quiet and brilliantly washes clothes it is by far the best washing machine we have had. As mentioned I have even been doing the washing its that simple to use. I must admit that at first I had to read the manual a few times to understand it properly and used it to work it out. Must say now that I fully understand all its features I love it. I actually washed my expensive good pants on delicate and pressed the iron button. The Blinky thing won me I hung those trousers up and did NOT have to iron them......WOW I was impressed. I then washed my shirts and did the same iron button depressed and hung them on coat hanger immediately the wash finished. Yeap.... I didn't iron my shorts either hehehe this thing is great. My kids are small and go to bed at 7.30 pm and yes I wash at night too. It is that quiet. In fact I'm washing and drying in one load right now as I write this review. I have used the dryer and it worked great but remember don't over load it. I actually worked out how to wash then dry all in the one instant which in short is brilliant. I set the timer to start to when I'm going to be home so I can take them out. It is convenience personified. You do not have to worry about this catching on fire as it is a Bosch not a Samsung and I am glad I paid the extra dollars to get a washer dryer combo. When looking make sure the dryer does NOT use water when drying. We worked out on our yearly use of washing etc that we save over 11 000 litres of water by buying this machine so we have saved more by paying a little extra to get the German engineering and I have to say that I and extremely happy with the quality of this machine. I was a bit sceptical that it uses so little water but I have given it some real "dirty" tasks and I must say My shirts and clothes are much cleaner than any of the machines we used. Having the child lock feature is a must as my 4 year old daughter ever the helper has been foiled in her attempts to disrupt the machine :). I looked for months researching all brands, prices, features etc this presented as the best quality and value. I will say buy this machine with confidence more so now after using it for more than two months. We Love it, I have no buyers remorse what so ever. Will update and advise as we go. If I have an issue I will post it on here but I doubt that we will. If I could I would give 10 stars. Well done Bosch! Thank you. I think my wife is even happier as I actually am doing all our washing at the moments I am super impressed. I wish I had one of these when I was a bachelor! If I get a divorce I will be taking the washer dryer with me! :) (I got a good price as I bought a Bosch oven as well)
Excellent helper – I've had it now for 10 months with no hiccups. It's extremely quiet, washes well and is water and energy efficient. Even my "know it all" 70yo mother in law was impressed:) It has a sensor/condenser dryer and it will adjust time automatically, quite often the drying time is much shorter depending on fabrics. There are two settings for drying and… Read more · 1
I find the drying is gentle - some clothes say "do not tumble try" - I put it in anyway e.g. t-shirts and they have not shrank.
there is no lint to clean after every use - the machine flushes it all away with the condensed water! It also doesn't blow that humid air at the back of machine like in usual tumble dryer which contributes to mould build up. and no dust in the air from drying like in a normal tumble dryer!
If you live alone or just 2 people household this machine is perfect!
I live in an apartment so having just one appliance in the laundry for washing and drying is a great space saver. I did a lot of research in the field of washer/dryer combos before I made a decision. Very happy with my choice.
I considered one of the Samsung ones coz it looked cool, but after learning that the Dryer would use 90 liters!!!! of water in drying cycle I thought that's just scandalous and environmentally irresponsible. They shouldn't be allowed to sell them! yes - it uses more water to dry than to wash! water is used to cool the drum during drying!
then the Electrolux ones specified that the end of the water outlet hose couldn't be higher than 60 cm, otherwise it wouldn't drain well - I wanted the grey water hose end to go into the little hole on top of my laundry sink - about 90-100cm.
Some of them need cold AND hot water connected so they will use up your shower water - important if you have hot water system at home (boiler). Some brands eliminate heaters in their machines to improve their energy efficiency rating for the label!:)
The Bosch only uses 45 liters of water to wash and no water to dry!!! perfect! Only after washing/drying dark colours I run the 15min fluff cleaning cycle which uses up to 5 liters. It has its own heater so only cold water can be connected and it heats up only as much as it needs, without taking hot water from my water heater which I use for showers etc.
People who are used to top loaders will have to adjust as the washing times can be longer but I find the clothing comes out cleaner from front loader and less damaged.
just to let you know how much laundry you can put in for particular cycles I have weighted these garments:
Thick cotton bath towel - 700g
flannelette Q size fitted sheet - 1kg (1000g)
Jeans - 600g
footy socks - 70g
cotton t-shirt - 130g
a cotton hoodie - 500g
cotton track pants - 400g
fleece jacket - 650g
Wash times I use:
15 min speedy wash cycle - up to 2kg of clothes
30 min - up to 3.5kg
cottons setting (I use for towels and sheets) - 1hr45 for 4kg, 2hrs15 for 7kg
mixed fabrics (I use for mixed every day clothes) - 1hr for 3.5kg
"Wash and dry" cycle times:
wash and dry 1kg of clothes - 60min
mixed fabrics 2.5kg wash and dry - 3hrs
cottons 4kg wash and dry - 5hrs
If you put in a little more than the recommended weight it's not going to blow up - it just might take a bit longer or the clothes won't be as clean coz there will be no room to move for them during the cycle. There is an indicator on the panel to let you know if the wash weight is light, medium or heavy - but only once you've started the cycle.
You can interrupt during the wash! yes you can! and throw in extras (if you forgot, or if it shows "light") or take stuff out (it you're concerned it might be too heavy)
When I wash towels or sheets I usually put 7 bath towels OR a fitted sheet+Q doona+pillow covers on wash & dry overnight and its done! I put stuff into the machine in the evening, set time delay to finish around 7 am and have lovely warm towels in the morning:)
