Bose Portable Home Speaker

Sounds super – Purchased online in a sale at David Jones, also purchased the cradle. The plug brick that comes with a USB-C lead wouldn't work, this was inline with a YouTube review on the speaker. I flattened the battery and ended up buying an Apple USB-C plug adaptor for $29, this looks better and works well. However using a different power source apparently voids the warranty. The speaker sounds super I prefer the sound over my Sonos one and HomePod. I use the speaker with Alexa and Apple Airplay 2, you cannot ask Alexa to play Apple Music but I can ask the HomePod and set music to as well come out of the Bose Speaker. I can play music straight from my iMac, iPhone and iPad, and also through all three speakers at once, one in the back bedroom, HomePod in the Dining area and Bose in the living room. Also I can lift the Bose of the cradle and carry onto the porch. I'm really pleased.

Not worth the money – Its laggy. Wifi constantly disconnects. Even the blue tooth is bad. Battery life is very bad. If i compare it to my jbl I would say sounds quality is better but all the features on it are useless when it keeps disconnecting from the wifi. If you pay $450 for a speaker you must expect more.
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $450.
Immersive 360 sound - great bass – The Bose portable is part of a group of Bose speakers including 2 x Home 500 and a soundbar 700. The overall immersive sound is very pleasing and even when low volume the sound is relaxing and not overpowering yet there is tons of depth there for parties. NYE this year really rocked with the Bose sound. I must congratulate the retailer Apollo HI-Fi for support with the product and their knowledge of audio in general.

doesn't play nicely with its mates – I'm not going to waffle on about the whole Bose sound thing, you either hate it or love it. I have owned Bose speakers , book shelf models and the sound link mini. I currently have bigger bother soundlink 3. I like the sound and the impact the of the speaker and when this new speaker came available I was drawn by the ability of wifi connectivity and google assistant to call up new songs ect. This is a really nice looking speaker and when i unpacked it and went thought the 15 minute setup to connect my spotify account, google assistant etc, I turned it on and played some music..... my wife looked and me and said "is something wrong with it"! The sound was not as full and complete as the soundlink 3 - sure it had some more base kick but it seemed muted and not as clear as the soundlink3 then we turned it up and there was a clear amount of distortion on the high end. There was even a slight distortion in the assistant voice . Overly disappointing straight out of the box and this is not what I have ever experienced from a Bose product. Then the network problems popped up.... I have an apple4K connected to a yamaha system in the TV room and a Yamaha mini system in the kitchen all play great together using airplay to direct music to the different areas as well as the soundlink 3 from my spotify account. I placed the soundlink3 next to the new Bose bucket of mess and tried to switch between the 2 which sent the Bose bucket into a frozen seizure that required a restart then after that point every time I directed the music to the TV room or the soundlink3 there would be an unexpected freeze a few minutes in to the stream. somehow the new Bose bucket had effected the airplay for all the other devices. I packed it up and took it back to Myer for a refund , removed the Bucket from my spotify account and deleted my Bose account. I don't have the airplay problems any more. Really gutted to return a Bose product as I like the Products , this one for me just wasn't where it should have been in terms of sound and software integration. I still love my soundlink3 though!
Purchased in at Myer Retail Stores for $449.
