Beware of ADAPTiQ – The BOSE range that comes with “ADAPTiQ” requires a special headset that must be used to calibrate the audio. The headset that came with mine (brand new) stopped working. BOSE won’t supply another and they are difficult to find new. BOSE will charge you for it but are out of stock. Probably because it’s a known issue. Show details

Great headphones but intolerable loud system sounds – Headphones function very well and am happy except for 1 major flaw. The system sounds (turn on/off/switch devices) are intolerably loud and impossible to switch off/turn down. Why make such a beautiful and expensive product yet have such a major flaw that should be so easy to fix with firmware???? Show details

All of the great reviews just haven't owned it long enough – An absolutely frustrating piece of equipment. WHEN it work and WHEN it decides to keep connection with the smart TV, it has fantastic sound and base. However these are quite limited windows of time between hard resetting the TV, hard resetting the soundbar, reconnecting cables, reconnecting the soundbar to the app, etc ETC. It does play great… Read more

sound however with the price of these units I would have been better off with a lower priced unit from a different brand as a great tradeoff for reliable connection and hardware. There's no point offering great sound when most days you turn the tv on and want to throw everything out the window because you're reconnecting it all AGAIN.

So disappointed Bose 500 soundbar and sub – It constantly cuts out, it doesn't even lip sync its so far off I cant watch movies with it. So disappointed. I have used the app to try and correct but nothing works :o( Show details

Over rated rubbish – I have owned this sound bar Bose 500 and sub for about 2 years now. In that time I have had to reset the unit and set up with the internet about 30 times as it loses connection and won't connect back unless you do a full reset. Each time a setup is required it takes about half an hour. You have been warned. Also the sync between the tv and sound cannot be matched even with adjustment in the unit, it just doesn't sync up. Show details

Bose Soundbar 500 – we brought the soundbar for the loungeroom along with the matching subwoofer.I would rate them i was surprised the sound they deliver suitable for an open plan livingroom. If you are looking at a soundbar i would suggest the bose.Paid 1200 for both the soundbar and subwoofer Show details

A sound bar that you CAN live WITHOUT – The main thing is that the sound quality of this sound bar is not much better than my 2 years old Samsung Smart TV in built speakers. It has a some noticeable additional bass compared to the TV in built speakers, but not a level of bass that you would be satisfied with having spent $700. Similarly the improvement in sound quality from the TV in… Read more

built speaker (if any at all), certainly does not justify the spending. Also, it is difficult to adjust the sound volume. The adjustment can be made either through the app or by using the controller that comes with the sound bar, but the adjustment seems to be disproportionate every time you press the + or - button. It would be nice if there is visual indication of the sound level.

The only upsides are that the sound bar has a really nice appearance, and the app allows you to listen to digital radio and preset them so that you can operate with the included controller.

Bose is not the quality company you thought it was – Bose make soundbars that systemically die after about 18 months and promote customer service channels that are mostly non-existent. Bose is not the quality company that they once were. For the global thread that shows how their power units are faulty and systemically die after 18 months.… Read more

Not mentioned yet is the super-quiet Subwoofer that is completely different to how it was in store. I thought perhaps I was going mad but that too has been reported in the Bose forums. BOSE IS NOT THE QUALITY COMPANY YOU THOUGHT IT WAS.

Love it – Recently upgraded to the Bose Soundbar and am incredibly happy with the quality of the sound and acoustics. Slimline design. Only issue is the additional purchase of brackets required to be mounted on the wall Show details

Price is reasonable. Features are great. Loving it – We bought it because we thought it was pretty good price. But it actually has a very good sound for a small item and the features such as Alexa is very helpful. Never thought that we would be using Alexa but in the end it becomes part of our daily life even the kids loving it. Reasonable price, nice looking and easy to set up. Very happy. Show details

great appearance and sound quality but – many give bose flack for its cost but the 500 sound bar is high quality and far better appearing than its sonos rival. When added to the sub it can fill a room to 60 square meters quite nicely. However, its falls apart with the fact yuo cant add other brand speakers to it wifi network. For this reason if wanting a more powerful and diversified speaker portfolio, despite bose's great performance it may not be for you. Show details
