Sooooo disappointed in Bose. I bought the original Soundlink Flex and enjoyed it very much. This prompted me to buy the second generation speaker as I wanted to pair the two to create beautiful stereo sound. Alas, it was not to be as I found out when I contacted their support team that Gen 2 doesn’t pair with original. Yes, said customer… Read more
support, I’ll mention the issue at my team meeting, but no, there are no plans to make the newer speaker pair with the original speaker cos they connect via different apps. WT?!? How can this be so? Very unhappy that BOSE has made the business decision not to support interoperability between their own products!!! Thankfully, the store where I purchased the Gen 2 unit agreed to refund… thanks Good Guys for being great guys!
0 stars. After only 2 years, it's no longer working. I contacted Bose support, and their solution was to offer me a replacement at a discounted price. Is that a joke? Why should I pay again for a product that failed so quickly? Save your money and buy a JBL instead. I have a small portable JBL speaker that's still going strong after 10 years. Much more reliable and definitely worth it.
Excellent sound quality… – I bought the Bose Soundlink Flex Portable Speaker after visiting a number of retailers. Mine is the 2nd Generation version which I am told is an improvement over the original. I looked at, and listened to just about all the different brands and after listening to the Bose Soundlink Flex it was an easy choice for me. Excellent soundstage and… Read more
unbelievable bass for such a small speaker. The high notes and clarity was far better than any of the opposition speakers I listened to. I also liked the build quality and overall design of this speaker. The only caveat I have and it’s an huge negative for me is that this speaker does not come with a wall charger. The supplied USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable just doesn’t cut it for me. Unlike other owners of this speaker, I have not had any issues with the battery life or charging. But then again, I’ve only had mine for four months so I’m hoping that I won’t have to revise my review in due course. As it stands, one of the best potable Bluetooth speakers available in my opinion and worth every cent I paid for it. I chose the Stone Blue colour which is really nice. Highly recommended.
Awesome sound while the battery lasts, extremely hard to replace battery – I purchased 2 of these items. Sound quality is just awesome (for what they are). Ease of use fantastic connecting to iOS devices, television etc. Connecting the 2 speakers easy peasy. $500 for the pair. After 14 months one of the speakers battery would not recharge. Plugging into mains power wouldn’t allow it to function. (was going to… Read more
use it as a dedicated tv speaker). After submitting a warranty claim I was advised that it was out of warranty. If I wished I could purchase another refurbished speaker for $150. Further enquires found that the battery could not be replaced by simply uncoupling it from the speaker (as is the case with early Bose Bluetooth speakers) as it is soldered directly to the motherboard. The speaker is not manufactured for ease of dismantling/ repair by the average person.
The other speaker going well. The aftermarket service/ability to fix the item killed my desire to purchase another BOSE product. I have since purchased 3 other Bluetooth speakers where the ability to replace batteries can be done with ease. I purchased 2 of these speakers for the price of one Bose Flex. The only issue with them is the bass is a little light. Better to have a little decrease in sound quality and be able to replace battery then a dead battery and no sound at all.
Bose soundlink flex – To my ears I believe the Bose soundlink flex produces a great well balanced sound which comes across as very clear I can hear all the different instruments and clear vocals so to me I feel it's great, could do with some EQ presets and maybe a battery level led light bar when you first turn unit on but overall think this speaker is great. Sound is good, but I hate it – Speaker has decent sound, but if it's not paired to Bluetooth it tells you about it, very loudly, MULTIPLE TIMES until you get up and turn it off manually. So you have to go find the speaker and turn it off to make a phone call if you don't want irritating disruptions throughout. I wanted to chuck it out the window more or less immediately.… Read more
There's a completely unnecessary app that goes along with it - I downloaded it in the the hope that I might be able to turn it off from my phone with that, but it doesn't even connect. In short, too annoying to bother with. There are other speakers with perfectly fine sound that will arentnsuper annoying
The best speaker Bose has made in years! – I’ve tried to like the revolve plus and portable smart speaker but the sound just isn’t right. Well in comes the flex! The sound from this thing is light years ahead of the other Bose Bluetooth speakers. It’s big, open, balanced detailed sound. I was so impressed I bought a second one the next day to stereo pair them. This just made the whole… Read more
experience even better. I keep staring at the speaker, amazed that this sound is coming from this thing so small. I got the stone blue colour which is beautiful but I also want the red one, it looks so lux.
I hope this speaker is the first in a new direction for Bose, back to what they did best.
Edit: tip for iPhone/iPad users. After pairing this speaker go into Bluetooth settings and tap on the " i " next to the speaker name. Then tap device type and select headphone. I know it's a speaker but this prevents the speaker being over driven with a too powerful signal. It makes the speaker sound better. ( in fact do this with all your Bluetooth speakers)
