Bought as a back up option - but it soon became my staple sound source! – I've had the pleasure of using the Bose Soundlink + for my dance classes for the past four years, and it has consistently impressed me. This speaker was initially my backup system, but it quickly became my go-to choice for its outstanding sound quality and versatility. I've tested this speaker in various settings, from my living room to large… Read more

community halls with hard wooden floors. In every environment, the Bose Soundlink + delivered exceptional performance. In larger halls, where you'd expect some reverberation and echo, I was able to balance the sound by adding sound dampening, and the results were impressive. Even outdoors, while the sound dissipated quickly as expected, the volume and quality remained top-notch.

One of the standout features for me is the well-balanced treble and bass. The sound quality is so good that I find myself using this speaker to enhance my movie-watching experience when I have the rare chance to indulge.

In terms of battery life, I've consistently gotten around 4 hours of constant use on a single charge, which has been more than sufficient for my needs.

What I particularly appreciate is the Bose Soundlink Revolve +'s device memory. I use a variety of devices, including a Windows laptop, a Mac desktop, an iPhone, and an Apple TV. Typically, I pair the Soundlink + with my Apple TV and stream over AirPlay. However, when I've paired it with my Windows laptop, the speaker impressively turns itself on and pairs automatically when it detects the laptop is on and nearby. This feature is quite cool, though it can be a bit bothersome at times. Thankfully, it doesn't have this function with my Apple devices, which I find convenient.

In summary, the Bose Soundlink + has been a reliable companion for my dance classes, offering exceptional sound quality, versatility, and a few neat features that enhance the overall experience. It's a speaker I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking impressive audio performance.

Great little sound portable device – For such a small unit, this pumps out great sound. This is my first Bluetooth speaker, so can’t compare to others. I use it mostly inside, but used it outside recently, and was quite impressed with the sound clarity, quality, and volume, even at quite a distance away - which was handy as I was moving about my yard whilst working. I'm quite looking… Read more

forward to using it for picnics and gatherings in the warmer months now.

It was very easy to pair with my device (iPhone) straight out of the box, and is easy to turn on from my phone, without me having to touch the unit. And for what its worth, whilst the documentation says you should download the Bose app - I haven't (and would prefer not) to do that. I activate the unit by selecting the device from my Bluetooth settings on my phone, and turn it on from there, then go to the app which I want to listen to, eg podcasts, Tidal music, etc.

I like the portability of the device, the battery so far seems to last a quite a while (i’ve not tested exactly how many playtime hours / stand by hours between charges). I don’t use the charging base - I just plug the charging cable back in to re-charge when needed.

Really glad I have this device. I was getting frustrated at having to wear earphones to listen to music, so this makes my music and podcasts accessible again, whilst doing chores and at times I don't need to keep the music very quiet. And allows us to play background music when entertaining.

Technical issues – The speaker offers a great sound with a practical size and is easy to use. After 18 months of use the charging port started playing up and after 30 months stopped working altogether. BOSE does not offer access to any service centres and the only way of getting it repaired is by sending it back at a cost of 50% of the purchase price. I am a great… Read more

fan of BOSE design, however, sadly have not managed to have any BOSE product that lasts for more than 30 months.

Unwanted voice prompts, can't turn off – If you live with others and are likely to use your phone or computer, you have previously connected your speaker to, it loudly voice prompts your connection, like it or not, even when turned off.. fantastic at 4am when everyone else is asleep, or was asleep, then you have to manually turn it off to shut it up.. one of the most stupid designs one… Read more

could come up with.. good speaker, but never will I perchance one again for this reason only, most I'm likely I'll end up smashing it to pieces one night because I'm sick of being woken up, and having to get out of bed to kill it.. Do yourself a favour and get a JBL or something else without freaking voice prompts you can't turn off, combined with auto connect even when turn off...

Disappointing – Beautifully clear sound. The lack of bass really lets the product down. Feel like Bose is living of their name without actually producing anything outstanding anymore. Would not recommend, and definitely won’t be buying Bose again. Over all disappointing. Show details

Quality sound for the right price – I recently bought the Bose Soundlink Revolt Plus for my dad. The slick black look of it along with easy to use features was an instant hit. Up to 50hrs of charge which is just incredible. Might have to buy one for myself. Cost is just over $400.00 but to have the ability to take it anywhere with it being so lite was just the perfect purchase i couldnt resist. Show details

Good sound, but fails to do basics I would expect of a high end speaker – Excellent sound, especially for a compact speaker of this size. I read plenty of reviews online that pointed to good sound & I wasn't disappointed there. However overall I'm not happy with the speaker, it struggles to perform some functions I would simply expect of a high end speaker like this, especially Bose. Most annoyingly it is unable to… Read more

act as a throughput for VOIP calls e.g. whatsapp, facetime etc. What I mean is it doesn't work as a microphone so you can conference call with it. Having reads some reviews online from customers & the support forums it would seem that this is a design issue. One that they haven't bothered to fix in 2 years the speaker has been around. This was a function that I would have assumed all higher end speakers could handle as standard.... Other annoying little foibles include difficulty with pairing with multiple devices & poor assistant features. From Bose marketing you would assume it has full google/alexa assistant functionality, this is not the case. You have to hold down a button on the speaker to activate it on your phone, which to be honest is a little gimmicky, I thought it would function much like my google home mini.

Overall, good sound, but fails on some critical functions, something I would have expected to be standard for a speaker of this cost. No attempts from bose to fix this despite concerns raised from the community. Annoyingly I nearly bought a B&O speaker for the same price which doesn't seem to have these issues. I think I will buy from them in the future...

CAUTION!! DANGEROUS CHARGER. good sound, Horrible everything else – You can get something better for half the price. supplied universal charger but still worked with my phone charger, i unplugged the bose power brick for the first time and it arked and shorted out because the AU plate is sloppy when clicked in to the bose universal plug causing small sparks if it's moved or bumped.

Software: can't connect using bose software with my Galaxy note 9 or S8 but my sony Experia Z3 connected once and i was able to setup the speaker. I tried to connect a few days later to turn off google assistant and sign out of spotify but couldn't with the 3 devices i own and after a few hours of trying updates, fresh installs and older app versions on multiple devices i gave up and preformed a factory reset, it's been near 2 years and i still can't connect with bose app to do the initial setup, adjust EQ, select a language or link devices.

360 sound, build quality – - When it works, it works great. The 360 sound is truly unique and they are solidly built. - The bose connect app however is flaky. - Pairing is not always successful. Whilst connected to one, when you try to connect and pair another revolve plus, the connection to the first is lost. Very frustrating. Even after couple of updates to the app,… Read more

this issue wasn't fixed. - Updating the firmware for the speakers takes ages. Give it a good 4-5 hours for the transfer to occur and if you disconnect the app, blue tooth device then you gotta restart the transfer from zero. - When you have two of them, the main speaker doesn't really switch off. Even when the lights are off, it remains in passive mode to allow for quick connectivity when switched on. This 'feature' eats up battery even when the speaker is not in use.

Great sound. Tech connectivity horrible & unacceptable at this premium price point – Bose were founded on buildable systems & still markets that along with premium sound as their point of difference but they are really not delivering that at all. The sound quality of Bose speakers is second to none. Right now that’s where Bose ends & that should be limited to wired/cord until they actually take their wireless tech seriously and… Read more

get it right. Their current app, wireless connectivity and software integration is horrific, an absolute insult to any Bose loyalist or other customer in this price point. I have 2 of these speakers. Currently any Bose wireless customer will need to set aside time investment of at least 8-10 hours a week, starting and finishing most days in pure frustration of party/stereo mode pairing, device switching, Bluetooth reconnection, resets & factory defaults for battery charging fails, flimsy charge connectivity and cradles that fail completely. Don’t think Bose will address it in newer versions, my 2 were purchased 3 years apart. The second is worse.

Overpriced, mediocre all-round performance with poor support base from manufacturer – Based on the rave reviews I bought the Bose Soundlink Revolve Plus Bluetooth Speaker. I was under the impression the sound quality would exceed all expectations. But my experiences were to the contrary and to date, I cannot justify the exorbitant price of this over-rated speaker. For the price, sound quality is pathetic. Considering the size of… Read more

this speaker, the bass is surprisingly good - but that's where the positives end. Treble is not as crisp as one would expect and the midrange is really lacking - to the degree that the speaker sounds muffled, and without the rhythmic musicality that makes for a great speaker. My initial impressions were that the speaker needs some run-in time but after 3 months, no improvement to the sound whatsoever. I also experimented with placement and tried placing the speaker in various areas and on different surfaces - no improvement. This speaker can at very best be described as clinical. There are no bass, midrange or treble settings that one can adjust. And a huge CAVEAT EMPTOR regarding connectivity. Although the Bose Soundlink Revolve Plus works as intended with my iPhone, and as claimed by the manufacturer, it fails dismally when connected to a (Windows 10) laptop as the volume controls become inoperable. One cannot increase or decrease the volume on the laptop, or the Bose. It should be noted that volume control issues are not confined to Windows 10 and or laptops. Internet search results were very telling, with hundreds of complaints about this fault saturating the internet. The owner's manual (leaflet) is pathetic and I wonder why Bose even bothered. And as a comprehensive manual is not available as a download, problem solving is by trial and error, and by word of mouth. To date, my problems remain unresolved. Overall, one huge disappointment. The only plus for Bose is that it is constructed from premium materials and build quality overall is superb. But that is as good as it gets - don't waste your money or time as there are dozens of superior options to choose from out there for half the price.

Excellent sound with fantastic design – Excellent sound Wow, the Revolve+ speaker produces amazing sound all around and the size & weight of the unit is perfect. - Excellent battery life - Handle feels great - I liked being able to pair my phone by just tapping on the top of the unit - made it so easy! - I also have the speaker paired to my laptop which is awesome as laptop… Read more

speakers are always poor. - The sound from the Revolve+ easily fills a large room or patio and very good low volume for the bedroom or small spaces. - You need to download the Bose app (I have android) to disable to annoying voice prompts. I don’t need a speaker to speak to me – I need it to reproduce music.

I did compare to a number of similar sized & priced bluetooth speakers but the clarity & reproduction of sound from the Bose unit is superior. It is more expensive than similarly sized or larger bluetooth speakers, but sound was my decider.

A beautiful product.

Quality Sound Beyond Size – Background: For the past seven months I have been looking for an outdoor Bluetooth speaker that can connect to an auxiliary cable, as well as via bluetooth. This would be the family go-to speaker for connecting Bluetooth smartphones and old iPod Classic music players via a cable. Criterion: The device needed to: • be waterproof, in case of any… Read more

rain • fill the outdoor spaces with sound • have a clear and punchy sound • carry a decent base without being too boomy • be lightweight so it could be easily moved from space to space • be small enough to be perched on walls, tables or in tight spaces • have easy to read and large enough buttons to turn on and pair with varying devices • have a decent battery life • fast charging • be able to play while charging, if the battery is flat • be easy to clean

Choice:

I looked at a large variety of speakers and came across the Soundcast VG7. I went and tested it out: it was huge, heavy but had the most amazing sound. It was also $1,200.00.

This was my choice but I didn’t to take account other members of the family, who didn’t want to lug around a 9.5 Kg piece of equipment.

Chance:

I hadn’t looked at the Bose range at this point, as I was initially looking at the JBL Boom-sound type speaker.

I was at JB Hi Fi and spoke with the sale person who looked at us and suggested a more higher end product with a superior quality sound. Here I was introduced to the Bose range.

The outdoor speaker that caught my attention, was the cylindrical pyramid series, called ‘Soundlink Revolve’. The bigger version, called Soundlink Revolve Plus really caught my attention. The speaker comes in black or (lux) grey. The metallic grey looked very attractive and would suit all areas.

In the shop the device just filled the space and as we walked around the fixed display the music seemed to come out from all areas of the device. The music was rich, clear and fulfilling. The Family’s Choice:

So yes, we purchased the Soundlink Revolve Plus. Once home I tested it out with the iPod Classic and different Bluetooth smart phones. No problems here at all.

My observations and experience over the past weeks are as follows: • Works flawlessly with no lag in direct auxiliary or Bluetooth connections • The sound easily fills outdoor spaces of 8m X 3m and 5m X 10m spaces • There is no distortion of sound whatsoever – every aspect of the tracks plays clearly and precisely • The base is tight and precise and is at a level that it blends with all the other frequencies. • It charges very quickly • It plays for at least 12 hours on one charge • You get a really good stereo sound and feel, anywhere where you are around the speaker • It is easily hidden or tucked into a corner or perched on a wall where you cannot see it but hear it perfectly. • It is water resistant and easily cleaned and wiped off. • The seven top buttons are large and easy to use and understand without the need of a book/guide • The carry handle is very tactile, with ridged grooves. It then flips down out of the way and does not block the speakers – very considered. • The base is wider than the top so it is very stable, especially with the rubberised padding – again: very considered.

Summary:

When you are looking for a device that is simply fit for purpose; you often have to make certain compromises.

With the Bose Soundlink Revolve Plus all the boxes have been ticked. You can tell (if not feel) someone has spent some time measuring and considering the delivery of a well-balanced sounding device encapsulated in a package that is designed to operate in any environment.

This is a small package that delivers big: make no mistake.

Final Word:

If I was to score this out of 100, I would have no hesitation in giving it 100. I honestly can find no fault whatsoever

You will not be disappointed.

Sounds pretty good! BUT! – It should sound "pretty good" at $300 for a single mono speaker! BUT -- ask anyone to honestly discuss the extremely poor switching control connections between Bluetooth - phone plug - USB audio sources. Erratic and slow at best. You have to jack around every time you use it to get any of these connections to work. How basic Bose! Simple switching! REALLY -- THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN ENGINEER AT $300 A POP?  Show details

This is Bose. Brillant – I have few Bose devices, including the Bose Sound Dock (Battery Installed) which is one of my favourites, especially when the electricity goes off during a storm. now while I am typing this. The sound quality; some of the Bose sound devices can be a bit light on in the mid-range frequencies but not the Revolve plus. I think it is great. The volume for me is easily loud enough with very little to no distortion at full volume. The 360 degree around sound is awesome, I thought I never needed it until now. You can position the Revolve up against a wall or in the middle of a room and the music can be heard the same by everyone. I have mine in my kitchen and it doesn’t matter where in the kitchen as I can hear the music at the same quality wherever I am in the kitchen. Connection by bluetooth is so quick and as with the other Bose devices I have, I like the audio voice confirmation when connecting to it or switching it on. The Revolve plus is a very well built device, quality finish as Bose products always seem to be, I guess, that is what we pay for. Comparing the Revolve to the Revolve plus. The plus is physically larger and has more Bass, and the handle, believe it or not does make a lot of difference when moving it around. I purchased the recharging cradle for the Revolve plus, to me this is a must. It is like the smart phones and wireless charging pad, once you have one, you will not go back. It also stops the occasional, forgetting to unplug the charging cord when moving. You can play music while you are charging it. A great purchase !

Amazing performance from such a small speaker – Purchased this speaker for an 18th birthday party. Took it home and had strange looks as the speaker is tiny and gives the impression that it’s not up to the job (the Plus is the big brother of the two Revolve models). the lack of heavy bass.

Run in a tiled room and the sound goes even further. Put the speaker on an object and it can even change the sound a little.

Used it at an 18th birthday party outside mounted on a tripod and it was 100% adequate going at mostly 3/4 to full volume for several hours entertaining 24 young adults on a small residential block with the 360 degree sound not travelling for more than a house or two either side.

Take it indoors and crank it up to transform the atmosphere, brilliant piece of technology that will have anyone looking at it ask how they managed to create such great sound from a small device.

Sure it’s expensive but if you want some sort of portability and love music I would look no further. The battery claims are lengthy but I found it drains much faster on loud volume. The carry handle is nice, it has a very solid build with soft silicon edges and buttons. It’s splashproof but I would not dare take it near water.
