Bose Ultra Open Earbuds

Bought Bose Ultra Open Earbuds after using Shokz Openrun Pro for a couple of years but always found the band to be an issue. Medically I am unable to use earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, and glasses makes over the ear headphones uncomfortable. Can honestly say buying these earbuds was a good decision. They are comfortable, so much so that I'd forgotten I was wearing them. The difference in sound between the Shokz and these is less depth of base sound, when casually listening to music or podcasts this has been hard to notice. Only realised it when charging the case and used my Shokz but the difference has not proven to be an issue.
Battery Life Shokz [8 hrs play time ~ 1 hr recharge] Bose [7 hrs play time ~ 1 hr recharge in case] Case recharge time is 3 hrs B.U.T. The Bose Ultra Open case recharges the earbuds 3 times making them far more user useful with less downtime for charging.
When wearing them they will let you know how much charge they have AND what they are connected to . . . i.e. My name's laptop, or S21fe [my mobile], or a no connected sound which is rather helpful.
Support information online is extensive and easy to understand i.e. https://support.bose.com/s/article/ult-headphoneopn-checking-the-remaining-battery-charge---ka08c000001bujfaaq?language=en_US
Would I recommend them ~ absolutely, especially if you have a narrow ear canal. Bose get a bonus point for offering a variety of colours, love my pink ones.
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $399.
Bose ultra open ear buds DO NOT BUY – Bought 2 nose ultra open ear buds mostly to use for phone calls and a bit of music. Found that after connecting them to phones the phone calls are at 60% volume, people can’t hear you talk and you can’t hear them. We are talking about a $400 product. Extremely disappointed in Bose and the product as I thought they made hight quality products. I wanted to exchange the products from Myer and they wouldn’t let me saying I had to get them serviced, there is nothing wrong with them when listening to music, just when making phone calls. Sending them away for “repair” would have done nothing.
