Great sound, clear and crisp! – I have an A5 and A7 paired via 2x echo dots and could not be happier with the setup. Would recommend getting a a Bluetooth receiver if you have one. Show details

Fantastic Sound – I bought this speaker to use in my bedroom as a small bedside speaker. But really it's so much better then that. It produces more than enough sound to fill a small lounge room and the quality is very trademark b&w (flat response) the bass is surprisingly low and the mid and treble is very clear. It is very easy to set up and use. I've been using Apple Music as the source and find this to be very good.  Show details

unreal sound quality – Sound quality is superb and very balanced Bass is very deep, not overly loud but in the right spot in the room it plays very low for a 6 inch woofer Works perfect with rooted android device and airaudio app and on pc with airfoil program highly recommended. Dont have the apple wireless issues as others have stated

Unnatural sound, despite what I'd read in reviews prior to purchase – Well since january this year i've purchased the bose soundlink mini, the bose soundtouch 20, and now the bowers & wilkins a7. The bose soundlink mini was so good for the size of that thing, i decided to get the bose soundtouch 20 for my medium sized living room. From the moment i had music streaming through this thing, i was mesmerised by the… Read more

sound quality, with its rich, natural sounding vocals and naturally sounding base levels. Blown away. Spent hours laying on the sofa listening to songs i knew well, but hearing them in a completely different way.

Then, because of the reviews on the bowers & wilkins a7, i purchased one because i'd suddenly become obsessive about sound purity in small, compact living room speakers and all the talk was that the b&w a7 was simply the best you can get. At $999.95, i expected it to be!

So i synced it with my wireless network and streamed a few songs through. I slowly found myself in a state of shock and confusion. The base was overstated and unnatural. The vocals were understated, unnatural, and lacking the fullness that is so present in the bose soundtouch 20. I sat down and continued through a wide selection of music genres, hoping to find any song that would sound great and could justify the expense of the b&w a7. Not one song left me exhilarated. Thoroughly disappointing considering the cost.

My first impressions of the bose soundtouch 20 were that the sound was crisp, natural and wide. The vocals were close and the base was where it should be. I was blown away and still spend a few hours a week laying on the sofa enjoying music that i know well, but discovering instruments and sounds i've never heard in those songs before.

My first impressions of my bowers & wilkins a7 were that i must have some settings wrong or something. Stringed instruments were the purest and most natural sounds, while vocals were understated and somewhat smothered by the unnatural and overpowering base. I couldn't get the fullness from the vocals either, without accessing my music app's equaliser and selecting the 'loudness' option. I shouldn't need to. Not at this price, and not with the bowers & wilkins reputation. I think perhaps if i'd purchased this one first and not had the bose to compare it to, i might have thought it was great simply because of the brand and the pricetag.

I've given it 3 days so far to impress me, but sadly it's failed to do so. I'm contacting harvey norman to discuss my options for it's return. I'd happily swap it for the bigger brother of my bose soundtouch 20, the bose soundtouch 30. The purple light? Failed to impress anywhere near as much as the Bose soundtouch 20

A5 Intermitent connection – I recently bought a bowers and wilkins wireless speaker. Whilst the sound is fine using my iPhone or my iPad the sound keeps dropping out. I have tried everything I can think of eg moving the speaker, moving iPhone and iPad but nothing seems to work. The odd thing is that on their own both iPhone and iPad play continuously but when connected to… Read more ·  1

the speakers become intermittent. This is the second speaker, I took the first one back, so I assume its not the speaker.

Anyone else had this problem? Beautiful sound See above
