Consistent breakdown – I had this air conditioner installed 4 years ago and so far it's broken down 3 times usually in the hottest week with water detection and solenoid problems. So far I have had it fixed 3 times under warranty but worry about when the warranty expires. I had less trouble with the 20 year old unit it replaced.

Purchased in for $5,000.

Warranty Service Issues – Purchased Dec 2020 with a Perth AC Company. First year 2021 unit worked fine. They contacted me in 2022 as they no longer did servicing and recommended another AC company to do the servicing. I engaged that second AC company for servicing and no problems in 2022. They did the winter shutdown and spring start up service for 2023. Immediately after that service large amounts of water were discharging from the unit. AC company came back and replaced a solenoid, water discharge solved. This year 2024 called in same (second) AC service company and there was a problem with the with a drain pump. They then notified me that they could not replace the drain pump because they could not service this Braemar model due to manufacturers rules. So I went to the Seeley (manufacturer) website to find a Perth authorised service company. Authorised AC company (third company) came but they had the wrong part ordered. They ordered the correct part, confirmed last week, now we are waiting for 2 weeks for the part to be installed. I'm concerned that the unit is not yet 4 years old and two parts have failed. The service technician (from AC second company) said the water drain pump costs about $490 to replace if it wasn't under warranty. The original evaporative unit had been on the house for 16 years but was at the end of its life. I'm not so confident about the reliability of the LCDi550 unit. We have 3 years left on the warranty and concerned about its performance after the warranty expires. The other point of concern is that we relied on advice from the company we purchased the unit from and engaged a AC service company and unknowingly engaged a company that in 2024 cannot service the unit. We were not aware that Seeley have different service arrangements for different air conditioning models. We bought an air conditioning unit in good faith, and have been stuffed around and its mid October and Perth will soon heat up. So overall not happy.

Hi Hugh, sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your Braemar Evaporative Cooler. It sounds like you are aware of the servicing requirements of the system. The 4th year service must be performed by a Seeley International nominee (as per warranty terms external link , which is why the second air conditioning company directed you to another company. If your evaporative cooler was serviced at 2 years then your system will be under warranty and you should not need pay for the water drain pump to be replaced. This can be confirmed by the repairer.

Would you mind getting in touch with us and provide your full name, address, contact details and product serial number? You can email them to me at seeleysocial@seeleyinternational.com . I can raise this higher in our tech department and find out if there is any further support we can provide. Kind Regards, Rebecca from Seeley International

I have since had it resolved by one of your nominated service providers. The air conditioning system has been upgraded from a 12Volt system to a 24Volt system, and this has been recorded in writing to me. Hopefully this is the final solution.
