Perfect for my kitchen – I use it all the time and cannot live without it. I use it for processing onions and tomatoes, carrots for my pudding and kneading dough. It's great for a small family and comes with different attachments. I have it in my bench top and can never put it inside.  Show details

have never worked well – used it like 10 times in 4-5 years . not enough blades, tools. Always smell like burning. died after i did some cinnamon rolls dough. Really the worst i'va ever used. Really deceiving. I receiced it as a gift and always were disappointed with it. Not even a whisk... just a kind of plastic mixer that is really fragile.  Show details

Built like a German tank (only it's actually a German food processor) – My Braun CombiMax K600 is now heading into its 13th year of active duty and has never skipped a beat. I've read many reviews for other machines that last only a few weeks, months, or years and I've grinned with pride the entire time that mine has lasted more than a decade. Here's what I love: * easy to clean * it has… Read more

chopped/sliced/diced/minced/blended/pulped/massaged/crushed/beaten/stirred/kneaded/chipped/julienned/ground/grated/obliterated/desiccated everything to perfection

* completely variable speed (instead of off, slow, and fast like many others)

* looks like it could be used as a prop in an 80s cop show

* isn't heavy or awkwardly balanced

* isn't painfully or annoyingly loud

* has thin and thick slicing blades, a chipping blade, coarse and fine grating blades, and a fine shredding blade for hard cheese or chocolate, as well as the normal food processor blade, a kneading blade, and a whipping/mixing blade (so many blades - Wesley Snipes eat your heart out)

Here's what I don't love:

* the chute won't fit gargantuan potatoes or other large ingredients e.g. to chop a cabbage it needs to be cut into smaller portions (but it still beats slicing an entire cabbage by hand)

* the large grating blade is a bit too large and the small grating blade is a bit too small - especially for 'wet' vegetables like carrots and celery (but who cares as long as I don't have to grate them with an actual grater)

* using the chipping blade gives you curved chips - amazingly you can't taste the curve but you can definitely see it

Although the K600 has been discontinued, Braun's TributeCollection Food processor FP 3010 is basically identical. According to Google, most Australian marriages that fail will last for just over 8 years before spouses separate, and 12 years before they divorce. I can therefor heartily recommend a Braun food processor as the perfect wedding gift.

Reliable, robust, responsive – I think we've had this for around ten years or more. I always look forward to using this product because it saves time and energy which everyone needs to do these days. I keep it on the kitchen benchtop so it is always set up and ready to go. What a breeze to use. Braun didn't get too precious about complicated installation. Keep it simple, stupid… Read more

is exactly what was achieved. This means we don't have to spend aeons reinventing the wheel just to chop up a carrot.

December 7th 2017 Update: UPDATE REVIEW

In 2012, I left a review for this appliance. I have been using it now for 15 years. In October, 2017 I finally got around to using the small nut processor blade and its tiny bowl. My dried banana chips were perfectly pulverised, along with the inside plastic of the bowl. I had to throw out the banana chips as they were enmeshed with shredded plastic. Had to throw out the bowl, too, but there is nothing wrong with the blade. Simple design. Good quality. Cost-effective. User-friendly unit. Basic control knobs. Varied power levels. Spare parts readily available. Versatile and functional attachments. Dishwasher safe. Generous 1.2 metre cord. Never fails to deliver. Thankyou, Braun. No biggy. Transfer prints of graphics and text on front have faded over the years with regular wiping. Also, remember to rinse off foodstuffs like carrot immediately after use as these will stain the white plastic parts if left on. In its defence, this is probably true of the devious efforts of all carrots on most plastics anyway.

Update review – I realised that my last review was written in 2004 so I thought I'd give an update. This machine is still going strong and is still an intergral part of my kitchen. It gets used regularly for all sorts of things, from grating cheese to mixing pastry and hasn't missed a beat. Although I stand by the inital cons I noted re the noise and some… Read more

bits getting stuck, I do tend to load everything in and I'm very impressed that this has hit it's 8th birthday without any hint of a problem, it hasn't even been serviced.

Given it's faithful service over that period of time I'm going to increase the star rating because it has more than paid for itself many time over. Very reliable and gets the job done Is a bit loud and cheese does get stuck under the blade casing.

Good – I have used this processor for so many things since I bought it. It has interchangable blades and discs that allow you to process or chop whatever you like! I have found though that the shredding disc leaves food a little too chunky for my liking. And apparently you can get other attachments but considering this item is now obsolete I would… Read more

doubt you would be able to find any. Still going strong. Does the job perfectly, operation is easy and efficient. Interchangable discs The jug does warp if you put it in the dishwasher (even though its dishwasher safe!)

Terrible – Not good value. We have a small family and use this five times a week. Motor burnt out after 18 months. Bowl& slicing blade has started to fracture too. Worked well for two years Not good value. Useless after two years.

Excellent – see pros above. This food processor did everything I needed in a busy cafe environment. When I sold the business I went to buy one for myself at home. NO LONGER AVAILABLE! The best food processor available in Australia - you now cannot get. CRAP! This was seriously the best food processor I have ever owned. Sold my business not even considering… Read more

that I would not be able to get another one. Other brands don't compare that I can't get one in Australia anymore

Excellent – Brilliant food processor. Am wondering if there's another (brand) that will work as efficiently and for as long as this one has. Everything. Not too fussy, easy to use and clean. Has been going for 10 years and still working as on day 1, that is until I stupidly put it in the dishwasher after making mayonnaise. Large bowl has warped. Can a… Read more

replacement be bought? Nothing in terms of operation of the unit. Most disappointed that I can't buy another.

Excellent – Purchased this unit about 3 months ago after my tiny little stick mix chopper attachment bit the dust. I find that the slicing blade is great for making scalloped potatoes and the chipping attachment is fantastic for cutting stir-fry veggies - carrots, capsicum, cabbage, onion - makes light work of it. Also saved so much time when making quiche… Read more

using the grating attachment. I have found that when blending soup, I have had to take the lid off a few times and stir it around just to make sure that it gets any chunky bits. I tried using the whipping attachment when mixing a cake, but it was a waste of time - did not aerate the mixture well enough and cake was VERY flat (I will stick to the mix-master!). Overall, I love it. Range of blades and attachments, variable speed is good and I believe was the best value compared to similarly priced units - the biggest motor, biggest bowl and most attachments. Doesn't whip cake mixes well

Excellent – Could not live without it! Takes the pain out of chopping with my sore wrists! Speed compares well. Many years valued part of family. Totally reliable. Braun use to make a 3 combination one - blender, food processor and mix master type, which was the best ever. Gave it to my son and his partner dropped it. I could only purchase a… Read more

blender/processor, which still is great for most things as other reviewers have stated. I use it mainly to take the miserary out of onions etc. Not dishwaster safe but is you add hot water and suds immediately is no big deal

Excellent – I've had Braun food processor for more than 10 years using almost every day. I bought extra attachments which are for K750 or K650 or optionals. Models have the same motor and bowl so attachments can be used on any model. I tried other brands and found them almost useless. Easy to clean, does everything

OK – An okay choice. Mine was a gift so I didnt choose it but have been pretty happy with its over all performance. Blends chick peas for a Hummus nicely which I admit is my main use for this device. I havent tried it for beating eggs or making cakes as I have a deluxe mixer for that but as far as food processing goes I have not been dissapointed. … Read more

Sadly though you really cannot dishwash it . This is a huge con for me as it makes me less inclined to use it Versetile and effective to use.

Makes grating and chopping and dips fast DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER as it will distort after awhile. We have had to replace the actual bowl thanks to distorted lid. BUT will say customer service was excellent

OK – Very versatile piece of equipment particularly if you make the effort to use it to it's full potential. I found it great for doing soups mainly, and at times grating cheese etc. Unfortunately due to it's size I don't fancy the washing up so these days prefer the Braun stick blender instead and generally tend to manually cut up vegies and grate… Read more

cheese. In it's performance and versatility though I haven't found any fault. And I know some relatives of mine that use theirs all the time. Versatile. Works well, and capable of doing largeish quantities of stuff!! It's big, it has alot of bits that go with it, makes washing up a bit more of a chore.

Good – I like it because I bake a lot of cakes and make a lot of slices. it saves me a lot of time when it comes to making biscuit crumbs or chopping vegetables. It's very versatile. I do many things with mine. I think the best would be chopping biscuits. trying to work out how to put the lid on.

Bad – Being a Chef, I guess I'm used to the industrial models and a few of the statements made on the box were too misleading for my liking. But as with all food processors, you pay for what you get and at least the lid was covered under warranty. The speed is good and a few good pulses will blend a soup well Lid will go out of shape the more you put it… Read more

in the dish washer and eventually will not fit.

Also the blades could be on more of an angle to circulate contents as some items I blended came out with chunks that just were not going through the blade.

Bad – not great - but also not a lemon. i use it regularly but would not necessarily purchase it again. it is good for grating and slicing but not the best appliance for mixing things like egg whites etc. it is quick and easy to use - no difficult parts or instructions. it comes with good blades and the dough attachment works well very noisy - sounds… Read more

like an aeroplane taking off.

when grating cheese the cheese seems to get stuck under the lid, also when slicing potatoes etc. after a while the small bit of plastic where the bowl attaches to the machine broke off.
