Braun Silk-épil Xelle 5170

Still going strong after ~ 5 years – I'm not sure which model I have, but it's the green/blue coloured one with the mesh bag and attachments. I did my research before buying, it had great reviews so I purchased for about $150. It's seen some heavy use over the years - I alternate between epilating and waxing - I can't really shave because it gives me bumps and ingrowns. I also react to some waxes, I guess you could say I have sensitive skin.

Epilating has given me good results, it leaves my skin really smooth. It can be time consuming but I like being thorough and getting every stray hair. It's never broken down or anything but I have taken really good care of it.

I'm really excited to see that Braun now have waterproof epilators and I'd be interested to see how they fair, I imagine the heat and water would help a lot with the pain.

Epilating isn't for the faint hearted - it hurts! But you'll get used to it. It does hurt more than waxing. I recommend epilating very short hair. The longer it is, the more it'll hurt! Works well, durable, the light on the front is REALLY handy
