Can I give this one to a 22lbs dog this is the one the vet gave me for my 10kg dog?

I would not give to any dog, when your dog has a seizure, you will wish you hadn't. Your dog has convolutions , foams at the mouth, pees all over its self, craps its self, shakes violently.

Our labrador was given Bravecto for the second time this spring. She got a tablet last year with very good effekt, but we noticed lethargy and hair loss for som week. This second time the reaction was much worse. And now she has trouble walking. We think she might have something wrong with the nervous system. Before the medication she had no such trouble at all. Has enyone experienced similar problems?

My elderly boxer had tremors in back legs straight after I gave her Bravecto. Fortunately she recovered but I have no doubt it was caused by Bravecto. This poison should be banned. Do some research and you will see that there are so many people with similar or worse experiences.

How long does it take for brave to to absorb/digest?

Michelle
Michelle

Anywhere starting from 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the dog and their metabolism and whether they ate right before, during or right after ingesting the Bravecto tablet.

We gave our 4 month old greyhound and out 8 year old foxy cross bravecto 4 weeks ago. The foxy is fine but our greyhound has started having mild facial seizures where he chomps and foams at the mouth every day. I am absolutely terrified. If anything happens to him it will destroy me. We only lost our last greyhound 6 months ago and still recovering emotionally and financially from that ordeal. We are at the vet tomorrow and he is going to say that it has nothing to do with the bravecto. I don't care. I'll never use it again. I just want him to be ok. Has anyone had a similar experience? Other than CBD oil what else can I do to try and get this poison out of him quickly? Thank you

Join the Bravecto kills dogs Facebook site. There are so many answers to your questions on there. But get milk thistle into his diet right away. Check dosage amount for detox the liver per weight of your pet. Change diet to raw immediately. Raw organic grass fed no antibiotics meat and sweet Potatoe. Then we sprinkle the milk thistle on top. I bought a bottle of milk thistle capsules from a natural store. go see a holistic vet. Our dog had a grand mal and we had to put her on keppra. Which is the most natural and easy to ween off anti seizure med. She hasn’t had one since one month ago but before that she had tremors constantly then one big seizure. Raced her to ER.

The diet change will help and please add milk thistle ASAP to food - feed 2-3 times a day and sprinkle each time. This stuff won’t leave blood stream for months so you need to detox liver and help support body. Ask them about keppra too as it may help immediately.

Find a homeopathic vet. And lodge a complaint with the APVMA about this. Doesn't matter what your vet says but I'd definitely be changing to a vet who cares. Any vet who tells you these drugs don't cause serious side effects is not telling the truth.

About a week ago I gave my 11 year old shepherd/chow mix a dose of Bravecto from the vet. It seemed to work well, no more fleas, no more itching, but she has terrible gas. She has rarely had gas before and we have not changed any of her food. She is very happy and active, no problems walking, face looks OK. Really no other issues but the flatulence. But is this just a side effect or a symptom of kidney or liver problems starting?

Michelle

Speak to your vet about getting her digestive system a look at and other organs, I highly doubt Bravecto would have any effect on a dog's flatulence.

My dog has allergies to fleas. And doesn't do well with various flea/tick meds. Only tolerates Adams brand. That has become hard to find. He had itching from A flea. Doc pushed bravecto. Now he is just raw from itching. No relief from benadryl or prednisone. What will help him heal and stop itching?

How long does Bravecto stay in the dogs system after administration? If it is effective for 3 months, when exactly will there be 0% of this drug remaining in the dogs system?

I wish I could tell you but I don’t know. I know that on the Facebook page “Does Bravecto kill...” there are files with natural remedies. One says something about some kind of charcoal. I was too afraid to try anything else. Wish you luck.

Help! My husband accidentally gave my cocker spaniel that weighs 20 lbs a bravecto pill for a dog 22 to 44 lbs pill what are the effects I can expect to happen in the next few hours / days ???

Billie
Billie

I haven't really had much trouble with it except my little dog. I had given him the pill and the next thing we knew he couldn't walk on his back legs. But he also had Rocky Mountain spotted Fever. My question really was to the vet why didn't the Bravecto work? Thats scary in itself. I don't know what that little bit over would do if anything.

Watch for seizures. My dog died from this medication. He was 10 years old. He started bleeding out his nose and the next days was having seizures. Take to vet right away if you notice that and tell them you have him bravecto

Michelle
Michelle

Many tests have been safely done on dogs where the dogs are given Bravecto everyday for a prolonged amount of time and the results that were found was that anything the dog's body does not use gets passed out of their bodies through normal urination and things. Thus, nothing bad should happen to the dog even if they did have a higher dose.

Was prescribed Bravecto (three month dose) by my vet (dermatologist vet) for demodex. I know the dog ate it because I hand fed it to her. She only had it on her eyelids. Went for a checkup, and the other vet said it appears that there are some that are still alive. Then, two weeks went by, and now it is all over her body, plus a secondary infection, which, also did not respond to the antibiotic she was taking. Now he wants me to try NexGard. Why did she not respond to the Bravecto. She is an adult dog with skin allergies, and a low immune system due to the apoquel she was taking for the past year....is this going to be a long difficult healing process. Am I doing everything possible?

Lisa B

Using ivermectin or milbemycin to help clear mange The approved treatments for mange (demodex) are sulfurated lime or amitraz, but when they are not effective, veterinarians may recommend using high doses of the prescription medications, such as Heartgard Plus Chewables (ivermectin).

Heartgard, which is used at 6 micrograms/kg/month to prevent heartworm infections, is given at 100 times the heartworm dose (600 micrograms/kg/day) for 2-3 months to clear demodex infections. Treatment is continued until dogs have skin scrapings with no live or dead mites for at least a month.

Interceptor (0.5-0.9mg/kg/month) is a commonly used medication to prevent heartworm infections. To treat demodex mites, veterinarians prescribe higher doses (0.5 to 2.0 mg/kg) used daily for several weeks. Interceptor is continued until skin scrapings are negative for live or dead mites for at least a month.

Because the high doses of Heartgard or Interceptor necessary to rid pets of demodex are potentially dangerous, two important precautions are taken. First, before treatment, dogs undergo testing to confirm that they do not have heartworms; and, second, they are tested to confirm they do not have the multiple drug resistant (MDR1) gene if they are purebred or mixed breed herding dogs:

Australian Shepherd

Border Collie

Collie

English Shepherd

German Shepherd

McNab

Old English Sheepdog

Longhaired Whippet

Silken Windhound

Caution for dogs with the MDR1 gene

Dogs with MDR1 gene are especially sensitive to certain medications containing ivermectin, such as Heartgard and Iverhart. Many veterinarians like to prescribe milbemycin given at a daily schedule for treatment of mange in dogs with the MDR1 gene. If you have a dog in the collie or herding breed, please contact your veterinarian for an alternative to medications that contain ivermectin.

Dogs that have both heartworms and demodex infections can still be safely treated. These dogs are first treated for heartworm infections with low doses of heartworm medication and then treated with high doses of ivermectin (Heartgard) or milbemycin to control demodex.

My 6 year old english staffy, took bravecto for the first time 3 months ago and he was fine, but he is due for another 3 month dose now and i am really hesitant about giving him more. We all so have a 16 week old staffy pup aswell which im a little worried about. Is there anything else on the market for ticks and fleas that dosent have such bad reviews? Thanks

Christine Saw
Christine Saw

I gave my dog Advocate every month and it works perfectly fine, until a pet store lady said it is alternate for flea, super convenient and safe. So, without thinking further, I gave it to my baby dog that is 8 years old, extremely healthy, never have any issues, not even diarrhea or drooling in the past !!! within 8-10 hours, she started drinking lots and lots of water, non stop ! Me and my partner just look at each other praising her for drinking lots of water as she has the problem of not drinking much water, typical mini schnauzer. Then, she started throwing up, drooling, pooping blood, scratching her face (now bleeding) and lethargic, really sad looking dog now. Took her to an emergency after hour straight after we saw her pooping blood middle of the night. Vet gave her antibiotic and a tummy jap, nothing else she can do and she said it shouldn't be from Bravecto as it works perfectly fine on other dogs. But that is the only thing change and the only thing I have gave to my dog. Too many similar symptoms and now I blame myself for being stupid for not doing more research before giving my baby this toxic new stuff from the market. It might work on other dogs but definitely not mine and not worth risking losing your dog over a stupid flea product.
