The best coffee – This machine makes the best great coffee. It was a gift. Even 'coffee snobs' I know rave about my coffee. I've had this percolator close to 15 years and yesterday morning it stopped working. A real shame it has been discontinued. Finding a replacement seems difficult. Only one other electric percolator available on the Australian market. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Show details

PLEASE bring it back! – I bought this product many years ago and have used it almost every day. I love it! Yes, the lid knob falls out and the bottom has electrical tape holding it together and now it's time to get another...and it's disappeared from the shelves. Quelle horreur. PLEASE bring this wonderful product back right now!  Show details

Best coffee machine – It's easy to use, clean and makes great coffee. I love that I set it up each night ready to turn on when I wake in the morning. I use this machine everyday. I need to replace the lid. I would love advice where I can find one. We use it every day even though we have to watch that the clear top does not lift with the coffee.  Show details

Wouldn't live without it – This is the appliance I would never live without. Simple to use, always lots of coffee ready for visitors. Take it with you to pot luck dinners or to work for special occasions. I try different brands of coffee and use one heaping teaspoon for each cup. Perfect every time. Simple to clean.

Excellent coffee maker – I fully agree with the Melbourne reviewer. Exactly same problems but fixed as well. The plastic mount too thin. Had to glue and am careful placing it back as the percolators base plug can be pushed back inside. Know how to fix now! The glass knob also falls out. Managed to get a lid with a black plastic knob to replace. No way can service in Bali!… Read more

Will buy another from Australia if this one fails completely. Heaven forbid! But a damn good cup of coffee!

It makes a damn good cup of Coffee BUT! – We have used this unit for 2 years now. The knob goes soft and falls out ...yes it should be tempered glass or similar. The electrical contact within the base of the jug itself has fallen apart making the jug not useable. However on unscrewing and pulling apart, the above mentioned plug is captive, within an extremely thin plastic mount which had… Read more

broken into three parts..I after roughing up with an emery nail cleaning board I glued it together with a high temperature 2 part epoxy (from Selleys, although that area never reaches 100 Deg C). After curing well, it now works fine over the last 9 months. I am especially careful not to slam the pot back onto its base for fear of repeating the problem. Even so, the original plastic plug disc support within the pot needs to be manufactured much thicker. Having said all this, I am buying another one for the holiday house, fingers crossed...it does make a great drop. (Damn..no longer available)

Extra comment update..March 2016.. Its still going strong, no more problems but wish they would re-launch in a newer format. Just found a second one on council rubbish heap missing the knob, back in Melbourne. Put in a new knob (Ebay). At long last I can make a great coffee here in Melbourne as well

Very convenient and easy to use – I have had this Percolator for a year now. There have been no problems. The great thing about the machine is that you can make a batch of coffee quickly, and you can control the number of cups. If you turn the percolator of after use, the machine can re-heat the coffee for the next day. In actual fact, the coffee often taste even better… Read more

the next day. Do not leave the machine on for long periods of time or the coffee may taste bitter. I have no hesitation recommending the Percolator to anyone.

Makes great coffee but percolator falls apart after 2 years! – We have owned one of these perculators for 10 years and have had to replace it 5 times!!! This is because the electrics in the base of the jug somehow becomes detached and no longer connects with the base. It cannot be repaired as there is no access to the base to allow a repair to be attempted without breaking the unit. Also the plastic bit… Read more

at the top breaks and you have to send away for a replacement - why they just don't use glass is beyond me! If you can find an alternative product that does the same job - do it! Unfortunately we have not been able to so have been forced to keep buying this inferior product from Breville to feed our coffee addiction!

Good choice – We bought this to replace an expresso machine that we had, and haven't looked back. It makes great coffee and it is really simple to use. Best features is that it keeps the coffee warm and it doesn't seem to spoil either, we are really happy with this and haven't missed our old expresso machine one bit.  Show 3 replies

Fingers crossed – Just bought the Breville Cordfree Percolator. Returned the first one due to smoke coming from underneath the pot (not the base) and an acrid smell of burning plastic. Second one works ok though I would have been happy to pay more for a better quality one. The finish is rough with sharp edges on the basket cover and the tube. Have to mind my… Read more

fingers.

There is definitely room for a better quality percolator on the market.

My old Sunbeam one has a water level indicator and a knob to adjust the strength. Also more and smaller holes in the aluminium basket, which means fewer grounds in the coffee. It still works fine after 30 years but we try to avoid cooking with aluminium. Bought it because it was the only one available. I like a percolator because we have a small kitchen and it takes less room then my coffee machine, makes up to 12 cups, and keeps it warm. Rough edges 3 minutes with a file would have fixed.

This percolator makes a great cup of coffee – I purchased my Breville percolator about 2 years ago in replacement of another one that I've been using for 10 years. I also bought a spare just in case they are thinking of discontinuing it. Prior to the Breville I used a Russell Hobbs, which now resides in my RV. The Breville percolator is a great coffee maker. It's simple, well designed, easy… Read more ·  6

to clean, doesn't require any filter paper or other additional bits and pieces. All one has to do is add water and put the coffee in it and, voila, one gets a nice, aromatic brew; and it looks nice. The way it brews coffee and how the coffee tastes
