overall is good, but like most things not made to last the distance – Overall this is a good food processor with a number of accessory/attachments/blades. We don't use it often, have had it for roughly 4 years, but we've just had the jug (which is used the least) start to leak water through the bottom seal, which in turn has caused the ball bearings to rust inside the base, so it now leaks rusty water and creates a… Read more
very high pitch scream (you need earmuffs to operate it). There are no way to repair the seal, it's a case of just buying a new jug which we've just ordered because it's too noisy to use the now faulty one. This is todays throw away society where everything just gets replaced, rather than repaired. Companies like Breville make more money that way, than selling parts to repair their products. Sadly the way of the world. I would much prefer to pay more for quality that lasts longer (I thought that is what Breville was, at least it used to be), and less replacing and sending dead products & parts to landfill. One day the world needs to wake up and be smarter about the products we create. Breville - DO BETTER!
Day 1 review – I'll update this as I go, but the jug is plastic. Which the manual informs you not to put in the dishwasher often. I would expect that for a really cheap food processor. Show details
NOT worth to buy – I bought a Breville Kitchen Wizz 8 over a year ago, and one of the blending speed just simply stopped working, and because it is outside warranty, I have to drive all the way to a service centre and pay for the repair work, which is quite expensive. The blender jug is so easy to break, if you drop it by accident, it will most likely break, and… Read more
you have to buy a replacement and all their accessories are so expensive and there is no where else to get them. you have to pay for delivery as well.
The cost of the repair work or accessories replacement are all more expensive than a cheap blender which lasts longer! So THINK TWICE before you buy, this product will probably be fully functional for only a year (if you are lucky, if not contact the manufacturer as it is within warranty, that's what I did.), functions/parts will start dying out after a year, you would still be able to use the remaining functions but I am sure that wouldn't last long either.
Outstanding Value For Money – **very sturdy **easy to use **double blades fantastic **easy to clean ** I have a breville coffee machine and would breville do make very good appliances **I do suggest that it worthwhile to check it out for the price the wizz is very good value Show details
Great combo purchase for the ameteur chef – I decided to purchase this ($230) from MYER as I have been looking for a processor and blender but didn’t want so many appliances in my kitchen. This was perfect as it’s a 2 in 1. Blender is sturdy and able to handle smoothies (frozen fruits etc) which is what I have been generally using it for. The processor is also very good with a range of… Read more
attachments. Yet to try the cheese grater and potato slicer, but have used the dough blade to knead dough which has been perfect for my scones. Also used the s blade for general chopping and was amazed at how fine it chopped everything. It’s functionality is simple - pulse, low and high settings.
Solid unit for a 1-2 person household – Happy with my purchase - as someone who only cooks for the two of us in my household I have found that this does exactly what we need it to with no fuss. Have had a bit of trouble getting the potato peeler 'blade' to peel effectively as it requires a particular potato size and shape which isn't always available, but just peeling by hand is fine.… Read more
Slices and dices effectively and is easy to clean, is definitely loud but I've never heard of a food processor that isn't. Definitely a great budget-conscious option.
The unit feels sturdy - there is some plastic pieces but overall it doesn't feel 'cheap', however the rubber feet aren't as effective as I would like and it does tend to rattle a bit when being used. I can't comment on the dough hooks or blender jug as I have seperate appliances for both of these, but for easy veg chopping it's a winner!
So versatile and saves so much time <3 – I am very happy with this product. It's very durable and blends very well! It captures every bit leaving no lumps. There is only one downfall, every time I open the lid after blending, food splatters out. This is even when I take out the plastic cap to release pressure. It's quiet difficult to take-off, but when it does, there's some splatter. Happens to my Thai Green curry paste every time. Other than that, I cannot fault it! Show details
So happy with my new kitchen assistant - what's not to love! – Just purchased the Kitchen Wizz 8 BFP580 from Myers. So far I have shred, sliced and crushed and I have been extremely happy with the result. It is a little noisy but most processors are. The rubber foot pads add some balance to when the machine is vibrating but I keep my hand on top of the chute and stablise and it does the trick. it It is… Read more
easy to clean and easy to use. I have not used the dough blade because I am not a baker but
I expect it would work just as admirably as do the other blades. I have not used the blender because I already have one.
The body of the machine and the storage case are made of plastic and seem a little lightweight but I guess if it were a metal base it would weigh a ton. As it is, it is easy to store and then lift onto the work surface. The blade storage case is neat and compact.
As it is new and I have only used the processor a few times, I cannot comment on its operation over the long term but since I am very careful of how I handle, wash and store it as well as follow the instructions for which blade to use, quantities etc. I envisage a long and happy association with my new little helper.
