Toaster is a dud, Breville staff unhelpful – Bought the toaster 9-12 months ago. Yes, it's slow and they should warn customers prominently of that (which they do not, and which is the subject of many previous criticisms) but when it works it does deliver an even all over toast. BUT: the electronics failed within a few months, so toast no longer pops up, and instead all lights flash… Read more

failure. I called Breville on the presumption they may care that their product failed. They were very unhelpful so I'll try to get the retailer to fix it instead.

Absolutely hopeless – I purchased the toaster and the jug, so they would be a matching pair on my benchtop. They were going out on sale for $129ea down from $199. I loved the look of them and thought with their original price point and even their sale price, they would have to be amazing right? But how wrong could I be. The jug has an annoying habit of not opening the… Read more

lid everytime I press the button, so I have to press it again harder. I guess I can live with that if I have to because it does everything else that a jug should do, only quite a bit louder than I'd like. But the toaster is just a glorified ornament that happens to match my jug. I have to put it on the crumpet setting to even get my white bread to somewhat impersonate toast. And it takes a torturous long time to do it. I haven't thrown out my faithful Morphy Richards toaster that is still going strong after 6 years but doesn't cook evenly on both sides anymore. But at least it cooks according to its settings. Their jugs however have a bad habit with the plastic see through window going brittle and rusting the metal that adjoins it at the bottom because the water leaks through it. But that's another sad story for another day.
