It worked for me – I have dark brown and grey hair this works on my hair, which is usually difficult to dye. It is more streaks than a block colour. I did dye my hands but the box said to wear gloves. It does stain anything it touches so be careful. I found the dye easy enough to remove from my skin with a wash cloth and some effort. I used cruelty free vegan purple Show details

Love love this colour!!! Stays vibrant for many weeks – I have used Brite for years and always super happy with the resulting colours. I wash my hair once a week and the colour lasts vibrantly for 6 weeks at least. Show details

Dyed my daughters very light blonde hair and looked amazing for day one. As soon as she washed it the first time it faded like it had been 20 washes. Spent $40 on 4 colours for one day of colour - will never buy again. Pictures are taken SAME DAY. Show details

Didn’t work. I look like Grimace. Shower stained – Didn’t work at all. When washing out in shower it stained my whole body except face and chest where I applied Vaseline. I look like Grimace very embarrassing. My shower had been stained purple. Have just gone and obtained bleach so hoping it works. I’ve stained parts of my bathroom and towels also. Not worth it, such a mess! Show details

So bad. Stained everything – I dyed my bleached hair this colour about 3 weeks ago, since then my hair has been a nightmare. Every single shirt I wear has purple staining around the collar, I dread showers because of the mess. I wash my hair once a week because of this dye, my shower is stained, my hands and nails are stained, I have a designated towel to dry my hair with… Read more

which I'm going to throw out once I'm done with it because it is purple, I have only washed my hair 3 times and I can tell it's going to get worse. When I wash my hair the water never runs clear it's always purple. My pillow case is stained purple and I had to put a tea towel over it because anything my hair touches turns purple. Never use this dye unless you want everything to go purple. The colour came out okay, there are some pink tones in there but the purple is average. I recommend not using this dye. The yellow shirt is probably the least purple. I have just done laundry so these things are not at their worst.

Love these, good value for money – Update! nothing against the purple though or turquoise as those are still doing great. Unfortunately I’ve been keeping an eye on a few colours, was at a store today whilst trying on some stuff and I checked the colours. The lighting was really good and made them nice and vivid. So issues, the red is almost completely gone and it looks awful, the… Read more

pink is nowhere, I couldn’t find it, the blue has already turned grey. So honestly the top 2 colours purple/turquoise best ones, the rest have gone downhill, they used to be better, especially the pink that was mad vivid and long lasting, disappointing now.

I’ve had to go online and buy from a gigantic warehouse, pinks/reds/blues and a green, as the green is also nasty now. I’ve used Manic Panic with great success for years and am confident they will work as intended. I guess in a way you could say what did you expect for $6? I mean the purple is amazing so I guess I expected them all to be similar in effectiveness.

So I was reading the reviews, firstly wash in a shower that is tiled (doesn’t stain), don’t wash it down with your body underneath it, have your rear as far away from your head and the water as possible.

Obviously this won’t fix it for many people, but it’s worth mentioning. Personally it has never stained my shower floor or walls, I have a rag that makes it so that the water doesn’t go down the drain and by doing this it mixes with the water and dilutes and never has any time to stain.

It stains hands and nails, no problems with that at all, it’ll wash off in the next few showers, try washing your hands with soap or other similar product aka liquid soap a couple of times works really well, but not for the nails.

If it stains a surface like it does for my countertop, use Ajax Eco miracle this stuff, spray it directly onto the stain and leave it for a few minutes, come back and use a face washer or similar and rub it clean.

Staining on the body, simply stand under the shower to wash off most of the colour, 99% of the stains disappear from my body doing this, you can also use liquid soap with a face washer to remove excess colour.

Now for the review, the purple washes out constantly but never actually comes out, it stains the hair permanently, that’s fine because I’m a rainbow freak, purple is my bread and butter and I prefer if the colour I use stays in my head as long as possible.

The pink goes on strong, washes out to pastel and than disappears boo.

The turquoise is absolutely beautiful, doesn’t wash out for a very long time.

The blue is beautiful when washing out, but quickly becomes silvery grey and it doesn’t last long before it washes out.

The red, goes pink rather quickly and seems to just disappear, not long lasting at all and not a favourite.

From memory the pastel green was good, the orange was good too and I’m not sure about lavender, I used it but I’m not sure where it is in my hair at the moment. I used 7 colours this time and each strand has 2 colours on it.

I have the red in a place I can keep an eye on it and if I remember I will reiterate on this review about how it faded.

Oh by the way if your colouring your entire head, do not apply conditioner after using this product, do not wash it with shampoo after either, what you do is as follows. Wash your hair with shampoo only, dry it and apply the colour, leave it for 2-3 hours, wash it off, do not apply anything and dry as usual.

Try to wash out as much of the colour if using purple as you can, as it tends to stain pillows, next time you wash it there will be an incredible amount of staining though, so be aware!

Finishing this up, I think some of the colours are great and super beautiful and when on special $5-6 they are worth every cent, they are heaps cheaper than the likes of Manic Panic, however they lack variety in colours that others have. For example Manic Panic has fuchsia shock and there is no substitute for this gorgeous colour in Brite.

I use mainly Brite for the majority of my colours and use Manic Panic and others for colours impossible to get from Brite.

Due to cost and the amount of colour I use, I will continue using these for as long as they make them.

The last 2 pics were done in a store with an IPad, if anyone knows IPad’s their cameras are not great, it dulled the colours completely, in real life, with real sunlight the colours are incredibly bright and visible.

Stains! Would never recommend! – I bought the purple to dye my daughters hair. It was left in for less than 5 minutes until we realised it was staining everything. I accidentally got all over my hands when I washed it out and it hardly came off my skin. It also stained our bath and counter. I had to use bleach to get it off. I threw out the remaining dye and would not recommended at all.  Show details

Stained everything – So I used this dye on my hair (obviously) and once I washed it out in the shower it immediately stained my entire body and shower. Immediately. I literally used bleach to clean everything and had to use the bleach on my damn skin to get it off!! Surprised I didnt become michael jackson!! Ive read the reviews and people are saying it takes over 15/20 washes until it stops running purple in the shower!! What the hell!! I have to constantly be friggen thanos everyday!! .... All I can say is sleep with a towel in your pillow and try and get something to clean the stains off you everyday.. Not happy...... I mean the bright side is the colour looks amazing!!! But definitely not worth it in my opinion... Sorry brite, never again...

The best violet I’ve found – I had been searching for years to find a product that would get my hair the violet I had envisioned with no success. Tried heaps of hair dressers, home kits, you name it I tried it. This one is very hard to handle, I will admit that but to me it is worth it. It’s very strong, I leave it on for hours and hours and pretty much let it dry before I… Read more

wash it out. 20 washes later I’m still washing purple out of it. It stains my hands, ears, neck, hairline but I don’t really care. I’ve got very dark brunette thick heavy hair and some parts that are bleached underneath as well but it grabs it all beautifully and has a few different shades of violet through it. I didn’t want to bleach my whole head, but it really wasn’t necessary. Inside lighting it’s not like a full on wild colour on the brunette parts, it’s kind of like people have to take a double take. But outside in the sun it’s unbelievable. Very vibrant I absolutely love it. This colour is sensational. But honest warning. It is difficult to handle, be well prepared for staining, don’t touch your hair the next day haha or wear your hair out because you’ll end up looking like a grape like me :)

As a professional hairdresser I 100% recommend! – I know that there are many reviews hating on this product, but one Must remember these are from Non-professionals. I have used every colour Brite has made and loved them. As far as semi permanent hair dye goes it is amazing. Each colour will of course have a different result just because of a)the colour it is and B) your hair. The darker, vibrant… Read more

colours will have an effect on most tones and yes the purple is very strong and will stain every surface of the earth (honestly like most purples, how do you think we tone your brassy hair? Answer strong purple shampoo!) my purple faded beautifully over 4+ months, while my pastels lasted 1 month if I didn’t intend to get rid of it. The pastels of course work On very particular hair and colours like turquoise and blue will depend on hair type. Also never expect grey/silver to work unless you have level 11 hair! And if it’s patchy, guess what, it’s because your hair is porous, damaged or just not as healthy as you expect it to be with supermarket hair care. As someone who trained to use these products, I wouldn’t look further, I put them up there with great brands like privana! Also to the person who lost their hair, I’d double check for allergies or products you were using at the same time, this product has no ingredients intended to cause stress or damage to the hair.

No purple color whatsoever!! – Interesting container. Little hard to work with the pump. My daughter knew that with darker hair it wouldn’t show as well but we thought it would at least give it a little purple tint to it but no. No color at all in all honesty even pumping the dye out of container it looked brown like chocolate syrup and when rinsed out of her hair it was still a brown color no shade of purple in site. Would not recommend at all. Show details

Do Not Buy this! – I wish I had read some of these other reviews before trying this product as I had the exact same problem with staining. her out onto the lawn and rinse her hair with the garden hose for fear of ruining my white benchtops. After rinsing and shampooing twice outside I then took her back inside to shampoo another 3 times as I didn't want to risk it running onto anything else. And funnily enough the dye came out of her hair mostly but has stained nearly her whole body. I'm sure it will come off over time but this was a total waste of time, money and energy.

Amazing colour – Used this after highlighting (bleach) my hair, the colour uptake was brilliant. It was vibrant and long lasting (2 months+). HOWEVER, this stuff is MESSY. one of the best hair dyes i’ve used – there’s so many bad reviews on here but it seems everyone is doing it wrong. this product does stain a lot but if you read the box on how to remove the dye it does work pretty well, the colours came out so vibrant and my hair isn’t all frizzy from it as usual from other dyes, i washed my hair in the sink and then put some hand soap on the purple… Read more

Purple rain – The good news is that the thirteen-year-old's hair is now the very bright purple that she hoped for. The bad news is that so is her forehead, back, feet, the washbasin, large parts of the grout, the bath, various clothing worn after the dyeing session was finally over, and really anything she comes into contact with. Super vibrant but omg stains everything! – The colour was super vibrant and much darker than I expected and I only left it on for about 5-10 min. my skin with an exfoliant scrub but the shower is still purple as are my toe nails. But the worst thing is that when I sweat (pretty hard to avoid in QLD in December) I have little rivers of purple sweat staining my face and neck. While I actually really like the colour on my hair I'm about to try and strip as much of it out as I can because the staining is driving me nuts. I have used the pastel colours before with no problems but I will never ever buy the bright colours again for this reason.
