I had a innovis v5, I traded in after 12 years of no issues at all. Then I bought this damn machine. 3 hour drive to look at it, and 3 hours back to pick it up after it had arrived. 24 hours on the machine was missing stitches and dragging the bottom and too cotton up, ruining the whole project. Returned it to shop, engineer checked it over and… Read more

said, sorry it needs to be returned to brother. A week later a new one arrived. They delivered it to me, and it was working fine. Just like the last one did. For 24 hours. 2 days in and this machine is doing exactly the same thing. A £5k machine. The engineer did check it was not customer error, after 12 years on brother, I know my way around these machines, this one is just supposed to be an upgrade. What a mess, now another 3 hour drive to return it. In total 12 hours travel, the shop did 6 hours travel. So just leave this machine in the shop to look pretty. Ps, so in the end I paid more for a Bernini, and this is a superb machine, only bad point is there is no automatic threader, but you get get used to colour changes after a while. If you bend your needle threader on a brother, it’s a hell of a job and expensive. But the Bernini is a £10 swap over at home, so this machine comes out on top. Pay a little more but do not buy a brother upgrade, they are rushing them out without kind hard testing them. But be aware. Bernini hoops can be £400, this is so annoying after buying a premium machine, especially when the hoops are moulded plastic.

Hoop decal stickers not available – Incredible embroidery machine with heaps of on-board functions and patterns. Cons are: 1) that Brother is not into recycling embroidery hoops; you cannot use hoops from older model machines because they lack the Frame Stickers needed to get Design Centre snap app to recognise the frame, and you cannot buy the Frame stickers independent of the… Read more

frame/hoop. (2) when you design applique in Design Centre, the single stitch rows always sew TWICE and you have to stop machine manually and cut the thread half way through. I now design my applique projects in Ink/Stitch to avoid these difficulties. The embroidery comes out beautifully and the Stellaire is everything I expected in a high end single needle machine. Having to replace hoops that fit the machine but lack the decal stickers is disappointing and expensive. Hopefully Brother will join the rest of the world in Reduce/reuse/recycling program.
