know that the crack up the full height of my Chimney is not structural just aesthetic, but distracts from the good aspects of the fireplace. Yes they say on their web page FAQ the units may get hairline cracks, and perhaps with age my hair has thinned. If this is a common occurance and since the Germans are so practised at making these they could test casting in a vertical expansion /crack line on the rear of the chimney sections so it cracks there, because the first thing my guests say is 'there is a crack in your chimney'. Read the FAQ and buyers beware of the potential of cracks upfront.

Pizza oven not so good – Fire is great and cooking meat on coals excellent, easy to put together and fits well However no joy with pizza oven burnt bases and uncooked top have to grill them in the electric oven (what am i doing wrong)? Show details

Best thing I ever bought for the outdoor area! – I love my Bushbeck. I was looking to build a pizza oven but was impressed by the versatility of the Bushbeck. Awesome for cook ups, social gatherings and quiet nights by the flames – We installed our Bushbeck in an area That otherwise would have been nothing more than a regular outdoor entertaining area. The Bushbeck has made it.much more than that. Even though fully outdoor, the bbq heats a large area. We cook a verity of meals from pizza to damper to steaks on the grill. Life saver – Through “lockdown” it has been a life saver. We’ve cooked in the camp oven, on the rotisserie, pizza oven, and grills, all beautifully then stoked it up and sat by the heat with a “vino” for ambiance. We Love it. We are the envy of friends and neighbours. Show details
We mainly use the pizza insert and it cooks well despite the door breaking within the first few uses – The pizza oven door broke within the first few uses which was disappointing but does not seem to affect the cooking. I would not say that the fireplace works as an effective heater as you can only feel the warmth if you are standing very close, however this is not the main purpose of the product. We also ordered the grill accessory, but it has been on back order for 6 months. The company did offer a refund after I continually followed it up. Show details

Worth every cent – Took quite a while to arrive due to Covid etc. When it arrived I unpacked it and found a damaged part. Got in touch with Buschbeck and they had the part freighted to my door in under 24hrs (which was impressive because I live in a regional area) Took 3 guys a full day to carefully get it finished. Swiss Army knife of outdoor fireplaces. Great to have a blazing warming fire without the smoke of a firepit. Great to be able to cook pizzas as good as a pizza oven (Takes a few minutes longer though) I’ve had no cracking issues at all after about 12 months and about 20 uses and that’s been with extremely hot fires using Australian hardwood.
Waiting for resolution – The front piece of my grill was delivered with gaping holes (not all are pictured) and a large chunk of upward protruding cement that is right in the way of where the food should be placed. So far I have had no luck with this company. Still waiting. We have not yet put it together as we are waiting for a cement slab permit so the accuracy of the pieces in terms of buildability is yet to be determined. Show details

Would give zero rating if could – After waiting 5 months to receive this piece of rubbisIh putting it together was a Nightmare . DON’T BUY SIGHT UNSEEN – Having waited for about 3 months for the item, it finally arrived from Sydney (we are in Perth). Definitely not an easy item to assemble. We had to employ a builder to do so (and he spent 3 (not full) days doing this); and did he battle! Nothing lines up as we would have expected it to. height. Even with this base, for ease of cooking, we had to construct another level. We’ve had it up for about 3 months now and haven’t even wanted to use it. The tools to lift the cooking base, stored within the fireplace, have rusted. The metal on the base looks as though it may go the same way. The supplier apparently spoke to the warranty department on 2 (we think) occasions and we obviously haven’t heard back from them. If it was at all possible, I would have returned the item. It is apparently made in Germany, but if memory serves correctly, I remember seeing something along the lines, on one of the boxes, that it was made in Taiwan. So my advise to you before buying - don’t buy sight unseen!
