Good – Because i have had such good shots with this camera over 4 years i think overall it is a little beauty in spite of the probem with the lenz. i have had my A520 since early 2006 when i purchased it to trip around Australia and have taken heaps of clear shots. after a few photos. Only one week into the holiday and the lenz started to stick, took it to a photographic shop at Port Augusta and they seem to have fixed it but then by Coober Pedy, it just jammed again. Had it repaired by a camera technician in Alice Springs and it went ok for a short time but have struggled with having to manually open the lenz each time i use it. Now having problems with rechargeable NIMH batteries (even new ones) just don't last long enough and always 'change the batteries' comes up. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problems.

Great reliable camera with a few flaws (well it is old!) Best things about it are the reliability, good image quality in good lighting conditions, good camera modes including manual. Photo quality still much better than phone cameras. (I compared with Samsung Galaxy II and Apple iPhone cameras)

I have dropped this camera many times, and treat it like dirt, and it comes back begging for more!

Bad things about the camera are, not very wide angle lens at 35mm, some of Canon's new camera's are a much wider 24mm, 25mm or at worst 28mm.

Shutter is terribly slow too, although there is a good burst mode if you are taking action shots.

Noise is terrible for any low light situation, it even starts showing up in fairly well lit indoor shots. Still gives reasonable quality shots however for Facebook, where photo sizes aren't large.

Flash isn't terribly powerful either, and screen size is very small, however that probably adds to this cameras excellent battery life. There is an optical viewfinder too, for use in bright sunshine or to save battery power. When you use the optical viewfinder however, there is some parallax error (what you see in the frame isn't exactly what you get)

Good – Great camera for photo's. Hard wearing. Easy to download to computer with several options for doing so. Therefore not restricted to cable. Small.Light weight. Easy to use.
