Just updated from sx110is to SX620HS – My new camera is just great 10 times better than my SX110IS which was awesome when I first got it appropriately 10 years ago. It was on social at DLDI BASS HILL couldn't buy it so quickly The zoom is unbelievable so clear. If you don't have a small camera just buy a SX620HS even if you can't find it on special!!! Will not regret it!!!  Show details

Not Easy to Use – I bought a Canon for first time, based on reasonable (under A$250) price, optical zoom 25x and compact size. Compared to simplest and cheapest of Nikon of similar size, Canon software menu is too complicated, hard to find things like quality options, self timer and other things that one needs to access quickly. One does not want to spend five… Read more

minutes looking for a menu item.

Why would one need to put fireworks effect on the picture when taking the picture? That can be done later when editing.

In box instruction manual does not list all operational matters. I had to go back to store to be shown where menu items are located.

To recharge the battery, it has to be taken out and placed in a charger, whereas Nikon can be charged with battery still in the camera.

I prefer Nikon as a user friendly compact camera to Canon.

Canon needs to simplify its in camera software options.

I have also now found that date imprint on image when a picture is printed without any manipulation, the last two digits are cut off in the prints, something I have not come across in other brands.

Update May2018.

Continue to be frustrated by this Canon camera. Recently used it as main camera on a trip overseas.

In the middle of taking photos, white balance re-calibrate required. I do not have time to do this. I had selected AUTO for shots from a moving bus.

Low light photos do not allow date stamp. Why not I ask? It is just another photo.

Frame aspect ratios. If one is not familiar and in a rush selects 1:1, you end up with square photos. A useless feature.

Update Aug 2018.

When the lens is zoomed to 20x or more in less than ideal light conditions, image goes out of focus. That means the zoom lens on this Canon has limited use. Very disappointing as longer zoom was a big reason I bought this camera. Canon falls short of expectations again. Nikon is way better.
