VerifiedWhy this Carhood.com.au can not be log in, its this company broken?
Dear Yawang,
We had some technical difficulties the past days which is why our site was down. It is already available now.
i notice you can answer questions ... answer positive feedback but when people ask about where our money is there are no longer answers ... yet you continue to takepeoples cars rent them out and receivfe money for them. WHERE ARE OUR PAYMENTS
how Long dose those carhood people own u peyment.
most people over a year mine is 4 months behind
How can I access the so called "web chat" which doesn't seem to be on the home page? (whether i am logged in or not - tried IE/FF/Chrome during 9-5) I have issues with the payments, fees and damage claim... Emails are not getting answered, and calling them just get hung up and pointed to a "web chat" which i can't find.
you have to fill in your details when you see like a message box appear in tge bottom right of the screen . Good luck
Just wondering has anyone who rented their car to Carhood being paid?
I doubt any one got paid from carhood. Do not leave your car there at all. They just make money out of the car. Never pay you.
I have left my car there 3 times now and it hasn't been rented out so i cannot speak personally about not getting paid for rent however I have read a number of other reviews that claim they haven't been paid or had to wait a long time.
My car was rented out for 3 weeks in August 2018, so 1 year ago and still no payment! I would strongly discourage anyone from using this service to rent their car out.
Once in mid 2018 about $19 last year... but not been paid for multiple listings after Dec 2018. Emails never get replied (except for the auto generated email promising a "2 business day urn around" :(
i have had my car with them for some time while working overseas ... i get paid eventually after having to always hasten them. They are $500 behind at the moment and i will be hassling again early next month when it rises to $750.
Still waiting for I think X3 payments dating back many months and even perhaps a year. I think their intentions are very good, but the lack of personal communication is very bad. I have had emails from a few senior members of staff, including the founder and Nick Johnson who I presume is the founder's relative? One payment of $200+ did come through, but still approximately $800 outstanding. I have stopped leaving my car with them, being the danger of the business going into liquidation and my car holed up for ? 3 months in some warehouse somewhere? The concept is brilliant and I miss the excellent service which the Brisbane office supplied. I am surprised that Carhood are still in business and continue to receive monies from unsuspecting customers. Fran....
Thank you.
Gave me 250 a month ago but are still 1000 behind payments. I have written to Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and am looking into a class action for the new year.
Hello all people who is still not paid by Carhood. I received a legal advise today. The first step is to lodge a complaint to Fair Trading. If they don't help you, then escalate issue to NCAT and only after you can go to court. I already lodged a complaint to Fair Trading. They advise us over the phone that this kind of case should be resolved within 30 days. They owe us a lot of money and also we have car damages after the renting.
If Fair Trading receives a lot of complaints from us, they will definitely close this dodgy business.
Attach all proofs, emails, statements etc to your case.
A little bit of my story. I rented out my car for more than 10 months. I received a penalty notice in the very beginning. Because I was outside of Australia, I didn't know about this until I came back. Guess what? Penalty notice -> Overdue penalty notice -> Enforcement Order -> Car and License Arrest -> Bank account arrest. I found out this when I came back to Australia. NSW Services website didn't tell me a word that I have any overdue fines despite the fact that I checked it regularly. It is a huge pain to resolve this issue for me now. Carhood didn't respond to my emails regarding annulment application fee that I already paid to NSW Revenue.
Complaint can be lodged here: external link
Hi Stanislav Can you please help me how to file case against them? Or can you add me in your case?
Hi Zohaib, I answered you in our chat. All the best to you.
Let’s fight together before the local court after all preliminary step.
My car was picked up from the Melbourne depot in November and I still have not received payment of approx. $700. I am devastated and wish I had read these reviews before deciding to trust your company. I won’t stop trying, PLEASE can someone respond and restore my faith that I will be paid?
Hi Katy, I still have not received the payment yet and emails I sent to them, they are no longer respond. Unbelievable such business can still operate!!!!!
Cary it’s shocking isn’t it? Someone needs to report them to current affair, they shouldn’t be allowed to treat clients like that!
I agree with you Katy. I have not received payment from Feb 2019. Let's all of us get together and take them to court?
Hi guys, I received a legal advise. The first step is to lodge a complaint to Fair Trading. If they don't help you, then escalate issue to NCAT (they usually deal with small money) and only after you can go to court. I already lodged a complaint to Fair Trading. They advise us over the phone that this kind of case should be resolved within 30 days. They owe us a lot of money and also we have car damages after the renting.
Thank you stanislav, I will look into this.
Same Katy. I am shocked how they just blatantly ignore you. I will contact Fair Trading as Stanislav suggested. Have you had any luck to date?
Katy and Cary i hear you both, i never got paid and they never return calls they are crooks
Hi Carhood. I will soon be handing my car over to your Melbourne depot for 15 days. I am curious how car owners like myself will be protected against toll usage when our cars are rented out. Would you be fitting a company e-tag onto the vehicle? And for that matter, how about traffic summons dished out whilst the car is being driven about by renters? I don't want to come back and receive a shock with unpaid tolls and summons. Thank you.
Thank you for the query AeeBee. Regarding tolls: At our locations, we will remove your transponder (e.g. e-tag) and install our own devices. This ensures that on automatic toll roads, you will not receive any unpaid toll notices. Once the vehicle is returned to us we will put back your transponder. And for infringements: Renters are responsible for any fines or infringements incurred during the reservation. If you receive a notification of a fine or infringement, please notify us at support@carhood.com.au immediately. We will organise a statutory declaration or reimburse you for the charge. Sometimes you will be required to fill out a statutory declaration to nominate Carhood. We will in turn nominate the relevant renter. If we successfully obtain the infringement processing fee from a renter we will add $20 to your Carhood earnings.
Be very careful leaving your car with these guys. I picked my car up in November and still haven’t been paid after numerous follow ups. They do not respond.
I agree with you Katy. I am in same boat as you
there email is support@ carhood - but there is no support, they have there heads so far up and are so arrogant.
When will my payment processed??
It’s been 3 months since I listed my car and it had earnings for 250$. Even after so many repeated calls support ticket the payments hasn’t been processed.
Poor customer experience and you lost trust.
After so many followups and phone calls I recieved the money today. Thanks.
Lucky you. I'm still waiting for earnings from June. And my car was rented out in August too - wonder when that will be paid!!
Hi Arul, I’m still waiting for payment since November. How were you successful? How often were you following up?
Usually the callcentre folks give me a followup date and I use to call them again after the followup date.
Hi
We have booked a car for this Sunday night our flight arrives at 9pm. will this be an issue to have a car available and will it be at the airport.?. and is it a hire car or someones private vehicle. Also we were charges an overseas fee $14.23? Regards Gillian Ludgate. Ref: BRIREN13245
Hi Gillian, Thanks for your enquiry. Please be advise we are located about 10 minutes from the airport. Once you have landed and collected your luggage please contact us on 1300 466 663 and select the option for "airport pickup". We will then collect you and bring you to the depot where the vehicle will be ready for you.
All our vehicles are privately owned by members of the public. The major difference between Carhood and other rental companies is that we do not own any of the vehicles.
Regarding any charges, please contact the third party whom you made the booking through as we are not privy to the fees they might charge.
Regards,
Carhood.
We have read a lot of reviews with renting out your car - we have a very expensively car we would like to rent out in your Brisbane Depot - have you fixed up your payment issues as so many complaints about chasing the money - what is the actual timeframe?
Hi Pam, Thanks for your enquiry. We do try to process as many payments to owners as possible within 30 days after vehicle pick up, but currently our system of doing this manual, which can result in some delays. We are in the process of automating payments to owners. Once this is implemented, payments will be reliably made on time.
Regards,
Carhood.
Dear Pam, This is typical Carhood rubbish. Last year they used to talked about auditing as a reason for late or no payments. These days their personal are talking about automating payments. These people are compulsive liars.
The only way that you will ever get your money from these people is by taking them to court.
My advice is do not waste your time with this immoral criminal company.
Regards Bert
Hi, I am planning a trip to China but I do not know when I will be back, can I leave the car with you guys without a return date?
Hi Jacky, Thanks for your enquiry. Please be advised that we do require a date for pick up to be entered, however this can be changed at any time to reflect your ongoing requirements simply by calling us or sending us an email. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Carhood.
Do you operate out of Perth airport?
Hi Gail,
Thanks for your enquiry.
Currently we do not operate out of Perth Airport, but we hope to do so in the near future.
Regards,
Carhood.
Hi,
I am planning to list my car at Sydney airport. Can you please let me know what happen if you are not able to find a renter for my car. I do not want you to tell me day before my departure flight that I can not drop my car. Once I drop the car and it is not rented for whatever reason, what will happen?? Will you charge me parking fee?
Thanks
Rakesh Patel
Hi Rakesh, Thank you for your question. If you list your vehicle for more than 72 hours and your vehicle does not get rented out, there will be no parking fees. If the vehicle is rented out, you will receive 25% of the earnings. Please see our full terms and conditions at external link .
Regards,
Carhood.
Do you do normal damage checks etc? I'm weary of companies ripping people off with damages that have already occurred prior to the rental
Hi, our staff complete a damage report on each vehicle prior to each rental, and on return of the rental. The form is completed by marking down each scratch, ding and mark, which we go through with the renter. We then photograph the car, taking many pictures of the cars' exterior and interior. Our customers are welcome to, and are encouraged to take pictures also.
Are vehicles left with you for rental parked in secured premises and does your insurance cover them for damage or theft while not rented?
Hi Dj001, could you tell me what location you are looking at parking your car at?
Our insurance coverage covers the vehicles when they are out on rent.
Is a bond required if so how much & is it returned in full on the day the car is dropped off assuming all is well with the car?
Hi Chrissie. (1) Yes. I was charged a bond of $300, put on to my Amex Card at the time of picking up the car on 6 Jul 2017. I had $0 excess on my Insurance Cover (2) I returned the car at 0930 hrs on Tue 11 Jul 2017 with no problems associated with the car, and received an email from Carhood dated 1014 hrs Tue 11 Jul 2017 (45 minutes later) advising me that they had issued me with a full refund of $300 to my Amex account, and that the procedure could take up to 10 days to appear on my statement. Haven't checked my Amex statement yet.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Don C
Hi Chrissie, A security deposit is taken from your credit/debit card at the time of picking up the vehicle. The security bond is $300 or if you are under the age of 25, or renting from the same state you reside, the bond will be $500. If you return the vehicle in the same condition with the same amount of fuel, you will be refunded on the day you return the vehicle. The refund could take 3 - 10 business days to appear in your account depending on your bank. Thank you for the question and for choosing Carhood.
Are the cars which are hired out belonging to Carhood or other people? Its not terribly clear from the reviews. Thanks
The vehicle's hired out belong to other people /customers
Hi Sara, yes, the cars we rent out do belong to other people. Many of our Listers leave their car with us to rent out whilst they are on holiday. Thank you for your enquiry.
