Hello Folliculitis – I recently bought both a cleanser (see my review) and this moisuriser to try as the products are siblings and suppsoed to work well together, especially for acne prone skin. -Background- I am 35yrs old but have been genetically blessed with mild acne all my life- joy! NOT! lol. I currently live somewhere that is extremely dry and as such, my… Read more

skin was really suffering so I thought I'd give this product a go given how much it's raved about. It's worth noting here that NOTHING else has changed in my life with this new product and the same brands cleanser. Ie, no new soaps, detergents or dietary changes etc.

Within 3 days of cleansing during a nightly shower then putting this lotion on after (sparingly), I noticed By bed time my face felt mildly oily. I didn't really mind because I was going to bed anyway and I figured the product just hadn't had time to soak in yet. However then I would wake up in the am with an oily face and tiny white heads all over my face, shoulders, arms and back. Basically, wherever I put the moisturiser had tiny micro pustules and was infected ie I had full blown folliculitis. It was BAD. My husband was shocked at how badly my face had broken out and just how inflamed and infected it was.

I immediately discontinued this lotion but kept up with the cleanser to see which product it was that's having this reaction to my skin. And within 2 days, the infections were gone and my skin has returned to it's normal clearer self even though I'm still using the cleanser. (I'll save my thoughts on the cleanser for it's own review)

I have no idea why my skin reacted so badly to this moisturiser. I have since returned to my old Nutrogena Oil Free one, although its expensive, its never ever given this result before. This one was also supposed to be oil free and non-comedogenic (poor clogging) but it's clearly had the opposite effect. Now I am left with a full bottle of this stuff that I can't even give away. Hubby is also too scared to try it LOL.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely NOT!!!
