The worst on market- not accurate!!!! – An expensive purchase and so disappointed. It's completely not accurate- like 1c off which is quite a bit when you have a child with an already high fever. I suspected things were a little off when my child felt really hot but thermometer showed a 36.8 reading. Ended up at Dr's office and took it with me and there was 1.5c difference in the reading between his and mine...so he actually have a decent fever. It also has ridiculously low readings, like 34.9'C especially when baby is sleeping, which is very very low. Called the company and they totally don't care at all, they just said you need to get used to each person's settings and adjust from there. There have been a couple of times when child has been very sick with 39+ temperatures, which actually could have been 40'C+ and therefore should have taken child to hospital. A terrible purhcase!!
Terrible – The readings were not accurate at all! The "normal" temperatures do not apply and each person in our family had to find their own average temperature. The first time I had to use it my baby was very sick. I had to try and explain to a doctor that my baby had been having an average temperature of 37. This obviously sounds like she wasn't sick at all but her average temperature on this Chicco thermometer is normally in the 34's. I dont think he understood what I was talking about and I felt like an idiot! It cost me $110, I wouldn't pay $5 for it! I bought it because I was a new mother, worried about not being able to tell when my baby was sick. Money is precious on one wage and I feel completely ripped off. It was quick, easy and simple to get a reading (Pity the reading was never a "true" reading! No such thing as accurate with a Chicco!) I think this is a ridiculously overpriced piece of junk. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. You dont find out till you've read the fine print that everyone has a hugely different "average" temperature. I have just gone out finally and bought a thermometer that reads the ear temperature and that has been awesome. I strongly recommend never investing in a chicco forehead thermometer. They wont ever return communication either, they obviously dont believe much in their own product! I only gave it a one star because I had to submit a rating. I wouldn't even give it one star!
can use without waking baby – I love this product now that I have worked out how to use it. Not so easy to work out when you have baby brain. But my husband worked it out and found it quick and easy to use and read. Great to be able to use when baby is asleep if baby moves it will still work. The one that I put in the ear wakes my baby as she feels it and wakes or turns her head and wakes.
Can store 6 temps in memory (not that I ever use the memory)
A bit expensive for what it is. Quick and easy to use and read and doesn't wake baby. Expensive,
OK – This thermometer is easy to use once you've read the instructions especially when the baby is asleep as you don't need to touch them to do it. Can be a bit hard when the baby thrashes around as you need to hold it close to the head and steady. There is also a feature on it where you can store up to 6 readings but think this is unnecessary. Luckily, we haven't had to use it very much and I suspect you could get something similar for much cheaper. Quick to use, especially when baby is asleep Expensive
