Highly recommended – I absolutely love how convenient this product is. It makes checking my child's temperature a lot easier without having to have any contact. Also the extra additions such as room temperature and surface temperature are quite helpful too.
Great product – I love using the VeraTemp proscan non contact. It gives me peace of mind being able to check my babies temperature throughout the night without waking him up.
Absolute necessity – This thermometer is the best I’ve used. Takes temp with minimal fuss. Also takes the room temp as well as surface temp with 3 different settings. So easy to use. In my opinion it’s a necessity in every household. Show details
Easy and reliable – Having worked with children for many years I know it’s always tough to find a reliable and hygienic thermometer. Veratemp is accurate and easy to use without bothering my little one. We love it! Show details · 1

Completely inaccurate every time. Don't buy – We got one of these at the beginning of covid because our Braun thermoscan got smashed by one of our boys. We were a bit sceptical but were assured it was very good. At the beginning we would just take one reading and believe it was accurate. After having it for a few months one of our boys got sick and we gave him the thermometer because he… Read more
wanted to take his own temp. As any young boy he thought it was fun to do so he started talking his temp over and over again. That's when we realised that is was very inaccurate. Our son took readings from his temple middle or the forehead and the other temple. What he got was 36.8 39.7 and 38.2. We checked again ourselves thinking he just didn't know how to use it. We also got readings all over the place. Sometimes one spot on the forehead would read 36.7 and another spot just an inch away would read 39.9. Happy to say we have now bought a new Braun thermoscan and are as happy as ever.
Amazing thermometer! – I have used many different brands before but VeraTemp is the best and most accurate. I would recommend to friends and family. Also for the quality the price is very good Show details · 1
One of the best Non-Contact thermometers around – Been using this for around 6 months now. We had bought an Omron version first. Then we used the Veratemp at a baby centre and never looked back. Temperature readings are instant, colour coded and can be easily configured for body, surface temperature and room temperature. Compared to the Omron we had, it was probably 2-3 levels up in user… Read more
friendliness and speed.
After 6 months of using this the Pros and Cons are below
Pros.
1. Instant reading
2. Like all non-contact, there sometimes is a variation on temperature readings, though pretty accurate.
3. Long life
4. Easy to switch functions from Room. Body, and Surface temperature
5. Screen is colour coded so great for grand parents or at night, (Green, Orange and Red)
Cons.
1. Expensive
2. Design feels like its 15 years old.
Batteries provided damaged it – One of the supplied batteries leaked and it now doesn't work. The batteries are VeraTemp branded. It was a good device before then but as it is not a cheap device I expect it to last for many years. If you buy this product I recommend swapping the batteries over for a brand that you can trust
Sent my 10 day old baby to the ER unnecessarily – After testing my 10 day old baby three times (behind ear, on neck and back of neck) with a reading of 38.4 degrees consistently, I called the Paediatrician who asked me to get my husband, and take the baby to the Royal Children's emergency immediately. I didn't have time to panic, I just followed instructions and got in the car. The hospital saw… Read more
her straight away as they were very concerned but their thermometers tested normal. They used three different thermometers to be sure.
As per normal procedure, they would not take a 10 day old baby's fever for granted and my poor baby girl endured heel prick tests (any parent knows how traumatic this are especially when there is hardly any blood in baby's feet at that age), IV catheter insertions, urine and blood tests etc... the Head of Paediatrics gave her the all clear and advised to stop using the Veratemp as it is too inaccurate and to get a Braun thermoscan instead as that's what all GPs and the hospital use. (We experimented with the Veratemp at the hospital against their thermometers too). The Veratemp consistently read too high. We all agreed it was rubbish and now use it to test the bath water. Even this is one whole degree out (it reads too low!).
I purchased this at the Melbourne PBC Baby Expo in October 2014 but without the receipt I'm unable to claim the warranty and am stuck with it. Please don't rely on this thermometer for your baby - baby's temperature is too important to use inferior products to test.
Every household needs one! – This thermometer is very intuitive to use. Non-contact, so doesn't wake my bub when asleep. Also does room and surface temperature which is handy for bath water, food and bottle. It records the previous 30odd readings and has a traffic light display indicating if the babies temperature is raised. One of my favourite baby products. Easy to use, accurate, many uses
