Brilliant machine with intuitive controls and good accessories – Machine came with high quality accessories and good support, no issues with quality. The size and power make this machine perfect for light to medium fabrication work. Features like VRD, HF TIG starts, Hot starts, and the standard flexible torch head, make this a machine worth purchasing. Show details ·  1

Disappointing in 'stick mode' – Have always wanted tig at home and have a site job needing stick at the moment so decided to bit the bullet and invest $2000 (package deal) as my ancient peerless stick welder is just too heavy to cart around as I get older. Now I have not used the tig function yet but I am terribly disappointed with the stick performance welding difficult light… Read more

gauge to heavy section curtesy I assume of the damn VRD. I would not have purchased it if I had known it would be so difficult in stick mode with out of position welding of light gauge to heavy section - does not seem to be much of an improvement on an early VRD equipped machine I used to occasionally have to use at work in years gone by. I am even considering selling it and buying a unit with that has either no VRD or VRD that can be disabled. I would be very happy if I could get my money back or if CIG or the supplier could supply me with a machine of equivalent capability without VRD or with the ability to disable the VRD. I have subsequently sold this machine and purchased a similar unit from WIA that can have the VRD disabled, which has been done and stick welding is no longer a chore but rather a revelation - what the CIG machine should have been.

Good value tig – This welder has all the feature you could want a higher ip rating compared to competitors equivalents aswell as an 8m lead that can use universal consumables. Only downside is the number display is near impossible to ready in higher light levels. Show details ·  1

Good value for money, with the features needed for TIG – Compact machine delivers all the features you need for TIG welding of Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium. Easy to understand and use the settings interface for Hot Start, Arc Force, Pre-Flow, Post flow, Downslope etc. Graphic with LED clearly indicates which parameter is being adjusted. I have not tried the pulse welding functions in AC and… Read more

DC mode, nor the Spot welding function. All other functions work very well. The VRO safety feature makes striking an arc when stick welding much more difficult than it could be. Otherwise very capable stick welder for its intended amp range. Used for farm maintenance. If the VRO/striking of arc in Stick mode was removed/better I would rate it 5 stars.

A quality machine AUS backed – Fantastic welder in all aspects well optioned ease of use .Accurate tig both AC and DC quality leads and torch combined with a foot pedal and you will have total control .Mabey the fan is slightly noisy but it also needs air flow at high amps so it's not a deal breaker at all ,I am more than happy with it . Show details ·  1
