Stick/arc is garbage and can’t be used on structural applications – Regards 182 uni mig viper I purchased a unimig 182 viper, gas/gas less mig and arc welder. Have no issues with the mig side of the machine but the arc welder side continuously cuts out about an inch into a run. I flagged this as it was still under warranty, they took it in for repairs, said it had moisture on the circuit board...but the mig still… Read more

worked fine as it runs off the same board. Was supposedly replaced,when I went to use it on structural pfc I had the same problem of it cutting out. Contacted total tools to discuss the situation and got put threw to the south Australian sales rep [Name Initials Removed] and basically he got aggressive and argumentative over my discrepancy with the machine and told me word to the effect of I’m “ a b/s-er and basically must not know how to weld” I do not hold this sales rep in any form of regard and he needs an overhaul of his attitude and customer relations by uni mig and total tools. I’ve been a boiler maker/fitter for 30+ years and have had to work with a high standard in the industry as any other qualified tradesperson does. To be talked down to and abused the way I did is an unacceptable way to be treated as a paying customer, I have a unimig pro series in the workshop and this sub standard viper mig and seriously I shall never buy uni mig again. The staff at total tools are polite but the uni mig sales rep is as sub standard as the machines he so proudly sells. More than happy to leave all my contact details to discuss further.. Does it's job well – Absolutely 100% happy with what this machine does. I do wish there was a package to convert to TIG. However, probably cheaper to upgrade to newer model. If you only need MIG and Stick, this is your machine. Show details ·  1

Easy to set up and easy to use – Most people that see my stick welding suggest that I would be better off using glue. Not so with my Unimig which is easy to set up and use. My first few welds have been strong and clean and I'm looking forward to my next project with it. Show details ·  1

Solid, simple and confidence inspiring – This is my first welder and I'm a complete novice. I have heaps to learn but I know have picked a great learning platform in the Viper 182 Mk II. Omg this is an awesome upgrade – Id started with the weldskill 135, could never get decent welds, perhaps I was using it wrong. But this welder out of the box with default settings it is working amazing. I was dreading trying it thinking all the positive reviews were over stating it. Great Little Welder – I had been looking for a small welder for some time and after researching, I landed on the Unimig 182. I think I made an excellent choice as it does everything I need. I am only an occasional user but I love the simplicity and easy controls and with the gas attached the mig is really good. Awesome tool – This welder is a pleasure to work with and a 10A plug means I can use it anywhere. It is a breeze to use. Even for a beginner. Currently teaching the better half how to use it. She loves it and has come up with lots of projects...sigh! Show details ·  1
