Excellent! – I have been using this product for many years on my regrowth & it is fantastic. I like the way it is not a "block" colour & your hair still has different shades which makes it look natural. I use the medium to light Ash Blonde & sometimes I mix the two in a jug & pour back into the containers (not the developer container with the nozzle). It… Read more
covers grey permanently & I would suggest people using it for the first time not to go with too dark a colour.
Loved the old formula hate this new one – I have used Nice n Easy med ash blond on roots for 15 years and loved it. Faded to a lovely natural looking blonde with no yellow tinge. But this new formula 8a is awful. Hair feels dry and throws brassy yellow lights within one week of application. I’m so disappointed, why did Clairol mess with a popular formula ? Show details
It looks like I went to a salon – I had bleached blonde hair. It looked dry and I was very unhappy with how it behaved!! I decided to go darker so I purchased Natural Medium Ash Blonde 8A. I am so happy with the result!! I absolutely love the colour and my hair is shiny and soft!! I’m going out to buy another 1couple of boxes so I have them always in hand!! Clairol thank you!! I couldn’t be happier. No more spending $$$$ at the salon!! Show details
Nice colour – This is for the box now called 8A but not the newest version which has the pink flowers on the box. To begin with my hair was a light gingery brown from previous faded hair dye with my natural dark blonde regrowth. I chose the ash blonde because I wanted to get the ginger out of my hair. After dying it my hair was a very pretty dark blonde/light… Read more
brown and it looks very natural, even to the point where it does look like I’ve got blonde highlights in my hair, so like the box says it is multi-tonal and it’s a very even colour that didn’t leave my ends darker than the rest. It also covered most of my grey hair except the odd stubborn one which still looks more blended. The only negatives though is that it does have a strong chemical smell and did sting some parts of my scalp. And despite being a pretty colour, it doesn’t seem that ashy/cool so I’m almost expecting the ginger to come back. It also makes your hair really dry and brittle when you wash it out but the conditioner makes it soft and silky again without any apparent damage. Overall I would use it again because it’s a very pretty colour with highlights, covers grey, which a lot of other brands don’t seem to anymore, and my hair is still in good condition.
Awful – Not the colour that was advertised I was so excited as it said ash toned it definitely isn’t it has made my hair colour really red and I was already had a light hair colour so I wanted to go darker Show details
Not the same color as 106 – Have used this colour for many years. The new 8a is not the same color as 106. This is supposed be an ash color which means no red. This is certainly not the case. Why did you change the formula Will never purchase again. Show details
This forces me to go elsewhere – I have very short hair; shorter than many men. Thus I don't need the entire contents to color my hair. I color 1-2 times per month [more often two times]. With the old product I got three colorings from each box. I have a graduated tube that I would pour equal amounts of the LIQUID color and activator into, then mix them. I has worked sooooo well… Read more
for me for many years. Now we have this new product in a lousy toothpaste tube. I found a way to make it work using a syringe to measure it, but it is so much more work tapping it all down plus then the extra cleanup, that I refuse to do it again. I'm going looking for another company that has liquid color and activator. What a shame after ALL these years. Clairol, you should have left a great product alone!
Would NOT recommend – The new dye color is flat, doesn't give color depth or dimension like the old formula and the new conditioner is absolutely horrible. My hair was dry and unmanageable. The dye might be ok but there is no way to tell since after dying you MUST apply the conditioner. I had such dry hair after the process that I went seeking out other conditioners to… Read more
use. I finally went on the "black market" and found some original colorseal for sale. Now my hair is fine. So Coty needs to bring back the original formula for the conditioner or their stocks will plummet no question there.
awful stuff – Used to use this colour all the time but new formula is nothing like it and has left my hair very dry, itchy and dull. Also totally different colour to what it was. Will never use this product again!!!! Horrible stuff
Last time I buy Nice and Easy – What did you do to the nice and easy. 30 years the same color med. Ash blonde Now I have tried three darker shades to get back to a natural color and each time in less then 10 days I go Platinum Blonde. And after reading the rest of the reviews I will NEVER buy it again. Fire the one who changed the formula and go back to the way it was. If you sold it for only a dollar I would leave it on the shelf.
Not nice & easy any more – Very disappointed with the new & improved version. Makes hair greasy and heavy, instead of strong and healthy like it used to. Also not as easy having to use two hands to squeeze the tub in and hope not to knock over the bottle. Have used for over 20 years and now must search out a new product.
New improved! I don't think so – Thought I had chosen same colour that I usually use, new numbers a little confusing but much darker than before, it has left staining to my skin which it has never done before. The condition of my hair now is worse than it has ever been after using product for 25plus years, I will be looking for a different brand now, why change it like this,… Read more
didn't they test it, before it was always such a reliable beautiful colour that people commented on, but not anymore very unhappy with new ''improved'' product, won't be using again.
Awful – I’ve always used nice and easy as it’s never damaged my hair, I can always depend on it to cover my hair evenly and come out a natural colour, however since using the ‘new and improved’ I really won’t be using them again. The dye itself is meant to be a more gentle formula however it feels as if it’s burning through my scalp when applied, not to… Read more
mention the patchy colour that certainly isn’t true to the box colour, I went back and bought another box as I was convinced somebody had switched the dyes inside, my hair before dying was just a plain light blonde now my roots are strawberry blonde and the rest an odd murky grey/Ashy blonde, such a shame.

awful – the new formula is dreadful can't understand why they changed it the colours are terrible they should revert back to old formula as they will lose a lot of sales with this change
New Nice and Easy is AWFUL – Have been using Nice and Easy for years. Light Ash Blonde and Medium Ash blonde. Colored hair with “new” Nice and Easy. My hair looks terrible! Won’t use ever again!!!
No longer lives up to its name – Just wanted to endorse what everyone else has said and add that it’s now really difficult to rinse out. After 20 years of giving 5 stars to this product, I will never use it again and I’ll have to think carefully about using any other Claiton product. Why couldn’t they have just changed the packaging and left the formula alone?
Leave things alone! – I’ve been using Nice n Easy for longer than I can remember. Nothing works better. Noticed the box is new and there’s a new creme formula. The good news is it smells better and isn’t as messy. But the creme in the tube is hard to put in with the liquid (did I get it all?). It didn’t make a good lather. My medium ash blonde shade has not… Read more
covered my grays well, and it’s already is fading before my second shampoo. Why do companies feel these days that they need to keep changing things?!
What have you done!!!! – I cannot believe how terrible the new formulation is. I've used this colour for 10 years and is an exact match for my natural hair. The formula is way lighter and the coverage is terrible. I now have an orangey stripe where my roots were and it hasn't even covered my grey..... why why why did you update the formula. Talk about fixing something… Read more
that wasn't broken!! I'm clearly not the only one who's disappointed with your new product. Seems you are going to loose a lot of customers. Shame
Why????? – Old formula: natural colour, multi tones, good grey coverage, silky shiny hair. Used happily for many years. New formula: flat block colour, brassy orange hue, dull straw like hair, patchy grey coverage which doesn't last, stains hairline, smells awful, tricky to mix, hard to apply, hair worse after each application. Never using again. You must be losing customers in droves! Bye
Hair disaster – After using medium ash blonde for years with good results, I trusted the new formula would be the same, how wrong I was, it went a dark brown with hints of green, needless to say I was devastated, it took a lot of money to rectify. I also bought in bulk as it was in offer, needless to say I will be asking for a refund!!!! Do not buy the new formula is terrible.
Not so good new and improved Nice 'n Easy – I have been using 106 for at least 20 years. I have found it easy to use, the colour was always good, lovely silky hair and a good shine. With the new " improved product " I found the new box difficult to open. Inside the box instead of a bottle which was easy to tip into the other bottle to mix was a tube of cream. Have you ever tried to squeeze… Read more
a tube of cream into a very small bottle that needs a hand to steady but you need 2 hands to squeeze the tube, stupid idea. I had to get my husband to hold the bottle so that I could squeeze the tube. So a 2 second job has now taken 5 mins. I put on the colour as usual, rinsed, conditioned, dried my hair which was clumped together had absolutely no shine and looked awful. Very unhappy with the change will now be looking for a new product which I don't really want to do as I love this colour. Also the gloves don't need to be separate they were fine inside with the instructions, surely separating them into a little bag is more costly and unnecessary.
Awful result – My hair went too yellow after following the instructions on the leaflet. Would not recommend. Did not blend in like it says on the packaging. Will have to buy another dye now to correct the colour.

New formulas and discontinued colors – I have used Nice 'n Easy for many years and been more than thrilled with the results. I noticed that colors 106 and 108 were no longer the same color on my hair or were they available at any stores in the San Francisco area. New formula does not cover grey as well, stings my scalp, and no color is close to strawberry blond that I have used. 8SC appears close, but I am not happy with formulation changes. I will not buy Nice 'n Easy any longer.
Change of numbers on product has also changed the colour – I have used this product many times and been very happy with the colour 106, then the numbers on the product changed and so did the colour. 106 now 8A is not the same colour, Medium Ash blond should minimise warm/ orange undertones but 8A is so much warmer in colour and more orange.
Horrible – Will definitely never use this product again my scalp was on fire feels like have bumps all over, my eyes burned, my lungs were irritated when in washed it off felt like my hair was stripped. First time and last time buying this horrible product
totally disapointed in the new formula – Have used 106 medium ash blonde for a VERY long time The new formua is nothing like the original.. way tooooo dark. So tried to lighten it up with light ash blonde.... did nothing. I am going to have to find an alternative.... any suggestions?
Not happy – Have used nice n easy for many years, have always loved the product, always medium ash blonde, but they have recently, changed, the numbering on the box and the conditioner, my hair is not the same colour, it usually is and didn't cover all the grey, might be time to find a new product
formula change – Ivé been using Clairol (106. medium ash blond) for thirty years and loved it until they changed the formula, I recently bought 3 of the medium ash blond on sale and was horrified to discover the shade is about three times darker than usual... and more a mousy brown than the usual natural blond colour I love, It will cost me a small fortune to get… Read more
my hair back to the shade I like. and finally bought (102 Natural light ash blond and hope it works. I can't exchange them because I bought three on sale and don't have the receipt, Very unhappy with the results and will change to another brand/product if this isn't satisfactory.... It was the best hair product on the market but not any more now the shades vary so much Why change a product if it works to perfection.. So disappointed the colours are darker than they normally are
I agree the colours are not as good I always use 103 and now find that it is a darker slightly… Read more (+1 reply)
